UK KVM – Starter 1

According to their Linkedin, NECS have been operating since 2005 but they’ve only recently moved into the VPS market. This is their second offer on LowEndBox, on their previous offer; necs commented that they have over 4000 clients. They’re a registered company in England (company no: 5504556) and are VAT registered (927 2078 19), thus customers within the European Union who are not VAT registered will have to pay 20% VAT. They operate out of the Redstation datacenter in Gosport, Hampshire. Windows is available for free and 15GB of free offsite backup space can also be provided, on request.
NECS accept payments via PayPal and offer a full 7 day refund policy. IRC is allowed but you can view their full Terms and Conditions, here. Interestingly, as well as emails & whmcs, customers can receive support via the telephone. An additional IP address is charged at £3.75 a quarter and DirectAdmin licences are sold for £4.99 a month. They will even install the operating system for you, for a one time fee of £9.99.

In the first offer here they said:
“we have a special promo offer running at the minute: 3MONTH which gives you the first 3 month for £10.50”
Now is this one here “Quarterly Promo Code: newleb256octQU” recurring?
Also, how could this guy Tim from the other offer abuse the ressources? I thought with KVM you have fixed ressources. I would expect to be allowed to use the full 4 cores you offer me 24/7 as this is what the specs say. Can I expect this from your service or not?
Best regards
i think you better get a dedi if you expect to use all resources 24/7 and you (wrongly) suppose there is no overselling. With any LEB you’re just sharing a small part of a larger common resource. If you can’t live with that just buy a kimsufi and you can (ab)use your resources (io, cpu etc) 24/7

@misterT
Yes the offer is now recurring.
Your expectations would be wrong I am afraid, in a dual quad core you have 16 logical cores so for obvious reasons it is not possible to give 4 dedicated cores, all VPS’s are shared resource environments when it comes to IO be that disk or CPU.
Our terms to cover CPU use, the cores are given on an equal share basis, the previous abuse you are referring too from memory was a case of someone running 4 cores at 100% 24×7
So in short you cannot expect to be able to use 4 cores 100% of the time no, you can expect 4 cores on an equal share basis though.
Thank you for the statement. I doesn’t make the offer any worse, because it’s good to know that your company gives honest answers and as you said in the other offer you are first trying to resolve the problem of using high ressources together with your customer.
So, thanks a lot for your answer again.
Was actually about a mile away from the DC today… It’s great to see a local provider from my end of the world be posted here ^^.. Shame ping is worse than my france ovh :s

My review on their KVM box, first 96MB review for 2013!

In general, the disk I/O is pretty good for the KVM VPS and the network is not bad on continental Europe as well.
More a plug for your own review website, why not just write a meaningful review on the offer it applies to on the website it applies to ?
I am wondering why it would be considered as a meaningful review when I am reviewing the same offer, just bought it from WHT instead of LET :)
Hello Jack,
Many thanks again for your review, we are always keen to improve our services and feedback like this is appreciated.
