I would stay away from someone who hosts at “Joe’s data center”. Cogent etc
This company could use a rebranding.. what were they thinking going with the name
ERECT.
About a week ago, I received the following email from ErectVPS:
Due to change of focus we have decided to close ErectVPS. As such we have to give notice of 30 days of contract termination. Please can we ask that you make sure you have a full backup of your data and cancel any Paypal subscriptions and have migrated by the 27th August 2010.

This is unfortunate, as I was quite satisfied with my low end VPS from them. They were one of the very few VPS providers that allowed IRC usage, which I absolutely must have since I operate an IRC server. I am in the process of moving my sites and other services over to DMEHosting
Their website has not be resolving since 10 August 2010 so I presume that they have pulled the plug.
