LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

123Systems - $3.48 256MB OpenVZ VPS Exclusive Offer

123Systems Andrew from 123Systems has sent me YALEBE (Yet Another Low End Box Exclusive), but this one was better than all the previous ones so I better post them here :) Using the promo code LEB50OFF you can get 50% off recurring discount on all payment terms on all OpenVZ virtual server packages. So for $3.48/month you can get the following package:

  • 256MB guaranteed/512MB burstable memory
  • 10GB storage
  • 250GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

The promotion code will expire by the end of this month. Servers are in Phoenix and WHOIS on the IP results in Codero. I think more locations will be live later this year.

  1. Yes, More locations are coming quite soon, We are actually getting setup in 3 (not 1 not 2) But 3 new locations within a few months! Dallas,Atlanta, And possibly Chicago or California, We haven’t decided ‘for sure’ on the third location yet, We are debating on who to go with!

    Thanks for adding us to the list, Like i stated in the email there will be a new one of these every month :) so get ready for some great deals in the future.

    Why better ? because cheaper ?
    In openvz, what will happened if mysql server (or other program) need more memory, but my VPS’s RAM is full, and burstable RAM is not available.

  3. malloc() will return you NULL and depending on your application, it either complains or dies. On Xen in OOM situation (especially when the kernel overcommits memory), a random process gets killed. So at the end of the day, always buy biggest package you can afford :)

  4. Well, All of our nodes have atleast 6GB-8GB Free Memory for Burstable RAM to be used, Like we stated we do not use all of the memory on the node (Over loading). We monitor our systems 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to prevent over loading.

    On a side note, Thank you LEA for Featuring us again, We got quite a few sales from this fiasco :)

  9. @bekanosky — yes the biggest package you can afford to run the specific app that you wish to run. What I can afford however is strictly controlled by the “server allowance” dictated by Mrs. LowEndAdmin though LOL :)

    Transfers are Free-Of-Charge to the client, They only take about 15-20 minutes as well, So we have no reason to charge the client to transfer them between nodes.

    @Everyone

    We will have virtual servers available in San Jose,California within (1) week. :D

  13. From their terms of service:
    “(h). Executable Scripts are prohibited on our shared/reseller servers. They can be used for destructive, and resource intensive purposes. Accounts with Executable scripts will be terminated upon discovery. ”

    Seriously? Who doesn’t have some scripts on their linux server?

    Hey, L.E.A, what about some inner report about companies that grow up, hire new people and bring their mate into the party for better knowledge of the changes in the market environment, I think it would be a good idea.

    Shared/Reseller means plain old webhosting, not VPS.

    How do you get VPS/dedicated out of shared/reseller? We don’t allow them on the shared servers because they disrupt service for other clients in the shared environment.

    @bekanosky

    We are hoping to have them by thursday, Possibly sooner.

    May I know the limit usage of CPU? Is it burstable?

    June 14, 2010 @ 10:39 am | Reply
  20. All virtual servers get “Fair Share” CPU, This means all plans are allocated all of the CPU Cores on the Main node, Resource intensive (CPU Hogs) Virtual servers will be placed on a CPU Cap which allocates them 1-2 Cores depending on the plan they ordered.
