KVM appears much more stable than previous OVZ at TX. Didn’t realize that 123sys can get much better visibility after using ColoCrossing. Best of luck.

    • Hello,

This comment is not specifically for you (sorry for replying to your post).

Marteen, can you update the post to reflect that none of these KVM offers are on Intel E3 hardware? These are all Intel E5-2620’s.

      Thanks.

Maarten, could you also verify that the offers you’ve posted are for real? At least one link and one coupon do not work.

        • The KVMSSD offer he posted should have been monthly $7 (With the coupon), not $18/year. The offer is real, it just wasn’t posted right.

Trust me, you don’t want them as a host. Have you ever heard the saying “too good to be true”? That’s how these plans are. You will not get anywhere near what you expect.

We’ve got a mind reader here! Seems to know just what I expect.

Anyway, I’ve got a couple of 123 VPSs already. My uptime for several months has been over 99.5%… not great, but good enough for what I’m using them for. For 18 bucks I’ll risk a meltdown.

Inasmuch as I’ve participated in the threads ChuckHL has been kind enough to post twice, I get the drift of what’s being said.

        Thank you for your advice.

AVOID 123SYSTEMS LIKE THE PLAGUE. Frankly, they should be banned from LowEndBox because they are so awful.

    – You WILL have downtime, like literally once a week. This isn’t an exaggeration by any means. The admins are inexperienced and cannot handle updating machines.
    – Sometimes the downtime will be +48 hours. Sadly, this isn’t a joke. It’s really that bad.
    – Admins will close your tickets and mark them as ‘solved’ without replying or doing anything. They cannot be bothered with your problems.

TL;DR – Worst host by far on LowEndBox. I’ve tried lots of different ones, and these guys were the epitome of bad. Avoid.

123systems.net website is currently down , so are 1/2 of my VPS. 1/2 servers is down , and nothing but problems constantly since i bought both accounts.
They are no longer responding to tickets. It appears they are under a DDOS attack but instead of dealing w/ it , they are ignoring it and sending out “your using to much data” notices. both my VPS’s have been sitting for nearly a month w/ a fresh install of their ubuntu 13.10 image , and other than update via apt i havent done ANYTHING and somehow they are telling me i’ve used near 2TB of data !

You should avoid 123Systems like the plague, at all costs. Service is shoddy (node reboots constantly, poor network connections), SolusVM is offline for several hours a day and support close tickets without any response or resolution.

I also believe that 123Systems is now under the management of ChicagoVPS.

Anyways, I’m wondering if I should post a link to a screen cap somewhere. I just want this issue fixed. it’s not fun trying to get a server up on the 4th of july.

      • ho nam chan:

Is it really that hard to maintain a GOOD connection to your VPS? Cuz apparently these dropped packets are back, to the tune of 70%-ish. Right. 30% of my pings get a response (and of course pings are smaller packets than typical packets so you think about it.)

i shouldn’t have to complain for what is a basic essential requirement to a VPS (like a decent TCPIP connection). if they don’t resolve this situation to some reasonable standard then you guys out there can decide what to make of them and if you want to do business with them.

    **WORST SUPPORT EVER***

contacted them via support about there “Linux-4GB-OVZ” vps and was super fast as replying and very polite.. got up and running in no time and got a nice discount but then once payment was sent and i got the server the problems started

my server was down almost all the time.. you can check the uptime here: https://share.pingdom.com/banners/ba6c3450 as you can see it’s at 26% which is a joke francly

the problem was that my server was shutting itself down randomly and the control panel wouldn’t alow me to boot it back online… i’d open a support ticket and they’d ignore me until it came back up many hours later and simply say “This VPS is not offline.” and 20mins later it’d go down again and the pattern would repeat

anyway after many tickets which all got mostly ignored i asked for a refund and after again many tickets and replies i finally got a response from them “Payment refunded, service cancelled.”

so is short they terminated my server with no prior notification AND lied about the refund.. they are once again ignoring any and all posts/tickets and have basically stolen my $30

these guys are really the worst support i’ve ever dealt with and i’ve been in the hosting biz since ’98

Cant not agree any more. I have been using their service for couple of years now. It used to be good at first then the problem stared. I also have “Linux-4GB-OVZ” and it started acting exactly the same I opened countless tickets but nothing improved. Every time they say the server is online now, and after 5 minutes it goes offline again. I asked for refund but nothing. They have the WORST customer service there is. Save your money do not buy anything from them.

Have any clean test IPs for Buffalo?

    ColoCrossing, Buffalo, NY, USA
    Test IPv4: 23.95.113.2

The Buffalo IP is on a Spamhaus SBL. In fact the ENTIRE 23.94.0.0 /15 block that IP address is on is blacklisted by Spamhaus meaning all 131,000 IP addresses in that /15 block are dirty and blacklisted.

Moving right along…perhaps the owner of 123systems could enlighten us as to why the BBB says they were using a fake address. http://www.bbb.org/north-east-florida/business-reviews/internet-web-hosting/123systems-solutions-in-douglas-ga-235960749/

When I open the serial console, I see a different IP address. I have created a support ticket asking them to solve my problem, but all I got was an automatic message and my message was totally ignored.

After wasting a day with them I sent a cancellation request. Got the confirmation email, but nothing has happened yet…

They will ignore the support tickets and claims on paypal will be refused because of the terms of service which only a few read they explicit say they don’t offer refunds.

    Status: Offline

It never worked! In the first few days, it restarted on it’s own all the time, but it had some uptime. Lately, no uptime at all, nothing! It’s offline all the time. Opened many tickets to support, either no answer or something like ‘we are aware of the problem, it will be solved in 15 minutes’. This is a robbery, as if someone has stolen money from my pocket.

This VPS provider is absolutely awful. They don’t answer tickets with any relevant information. They just keep closing them and shrugging it off with nonsense replies. There are no more customer representative names in ticket replies, which basically means nobody is responsible for how awful this place is run. I have a couple servers with these guys (yearly), customer for a FOUR years now and dropped about 6 of their servers due to quality issues. I haven’t gotten ANY good service down in Dallas. Their Chicago servers used to be OK, I even used them in production at one point but they also started to suck so I cancelled it. I’ve repeatedly tried to give these guys a chance as they put very little financial risk on the table but you get what you pay for, and you’re paying for packet loss, downtime, slow disks, NO customer support, they will tell you things are fixed when they absolutely are NOT. They have NO desire to fix their ways and really do not care about your complaints. They don’t want to work, just sit back and collect money and then not honour a refund when service goes directly in the toilet. I put a server on pingdom and it averages over 2300ms network latency. My own ping results offer packet loss and about the same or worse latency (upwards of 3000ms) tested from linode in LA to Dallas. I’m moving everything over to linode, there will be no renewals on these yearly servers. I’d rather pay $10/mo on something I can use w/ linode (and free upgrades) than $30 on something I cannot use at all, ever. Absolute worst VPS provider I’ve ever experienced and I’ve been through a lot via this site. LEB needs to STOP promoting these guys offers, all their doing is putting people through some of the most awful service in the country. This company needs to SHUT DOWN!

  28. The dog days of summer are officially here and that means it’s time for our first annual summer update. This email is different than the ones you’ve received from us in the past – which were sales-centric, a cheap ploy, we admit. Over the past two months we’ve conducted a review of our internal policies and operational processes and we’re very busy making big changes. Keep reading for our big news and discount opportunities:

    1. Vastly improved support. Effective two weeks ago we added three support technicians to our team which now allows us to offer true 24 hour support. No longer will our customers feel like a generic number forced to interact with apparently careless customer service.

    2. Accountability. At any time you can request that your support request be escalated and management will quickly intervene. Your business is valued and we will make sure you feel that way.

    3. Lower Server Loads. Effective immediately we have begun provisioning nodes without slabbing technology and with 40% fewer customers. We have additional nodes on the way to load shed existing servers and over the next 4 weeks customers will see a dramatic improvement in performance and reliability. These improvements will not cause any interruption to your services and your IPs will not change.

    4. Better Uptime. Lower load and the end of slabbing, along with fixing the issues that occurred due to the recent OpenVZ update will all mean a much more reliable customer experience.

    5. Pricing. Our same attractive pricing model will stay intact for all current customers. Absolutely no increases will occur for existing clients. There will be a modest upward tweaks on certain packages for new orders and those increases will help cover the costs incurred with our overall improvement efforts. We’re confident that new customers will believe an extra few dollars per year will be worth a better service; and current customers get that improvement free! Just like it should be.

In the past our boring sales emails would include massive discounts to compel customers to signup. Given our mission to improve, and the changes we’ve already made, we’re now proving more reasonable incentives. Signup for any package with coupon “save25” and you’ll save 25% for life.

This provider has some SERIOUS nerve pretending anything has been improved. You are the worst VPS provider on the net, I doubt anyone even comes close to the awfulness of this place. Over the years you’ve gotten more and more uncaring and just keep attempting to rope people in with low prices and no service. SCAM! You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Your contact email responds with “Your email to our support system could not be accepted because it was not recognized as coming from an email address belonging to one of our customers. If you need assistance, please email from the address you registered with us that you use to login to our client area.”

I’d like to know if I can run OpenBSD on one of these?
So far I’m not at all impressed with customer service.

123system is well known here for their… professionalism. Those are just my 2 cents.

I tried to order a 15$ yearly kvm package from here. Offer was on July 2, I tried to order it less than a day after they post it.

I tried to click on 512MB HDD Annual offer, but it was not working. So, I opened a ticket to their system and asked them to fix the ordering link. I also posted a comment in offer, asked the same thing, to fix the ordering link.

12 days later (!!!) they answered the ticket (after they closed it without an answer and a reopening from my side) saying:

    15/07/2014 14:08 bharris || Staff
    Helloo sir,
best offer we can provide for that package is currently $25/yr:
    https://123systems.net/billing/cart.php?a=confproduct&i=1

From 15$ to 25$ and after… 12 days of ticket pending! before you start with (search about them in LET, blah, blah), I already have 2 small boxes with them and I know the quality of this provider. I know what they offer, but still… This behavior was something that should be stated here…

I’ve asked to dump my OpenVZ to go to KVM. 13 days later, nothing. I started at technical support, was bumped to sales, then this hilarious thing called the “concern department”, then back to sales and no actual responses, just the ticket status changed, no KVM, horrific service on the existing OpenVZ.. I can’t even use it, it’s garbage. The owner has the NERVE to try to get more money out of people before dealing with anybody. Accountability? Where? 90% of your staff doesn’t even put their names on the tickets. Vastly improved support? What support? There is none. Internal policies? What, laugh at people that fall for your cruddy service? If that’s the policy then heck, you got that hammered down. Quickly intervene? With what? You don’t answer anything, just shifting me around so far. I’ve gotten to the point where I just respond sarcastically and I’m waiting for 123Systems to finally die. There has to be some laws being broken here. Product is NOT as described. Any guarantees have been broken by 123Systems. You’re just taking money and taking money and pissing everybody off and taking more money. I hope people just stop buying from these people. It’s the ABSOLUTE WORST experience I’ve ever had with a VPS provider and I’ve used a TON of them. Stick with RamNode, I hear BuyVM is good, linode is where I moved most of my stuff, quickweb is decent, I only moved due to wanting the benefits of being an linode customer. The horribleness doesn’t stop with 123Systems, they’ve made promises, they’ve said things would be fixed before, they never are, just never. I’ve been a customer for years and I’d always hoped these guys would magically fix it, hire qualified people, I dunno, give a crap about who is giving them money but I’m finally at my breaking point with them. It’s over, hope gone, consider this company a pure scam. I can’t believe how bad it’s gotten. It wasn’t this bad a few years ago, albeit, not great either. I’ll post an imgur link or something when this ticket wraps up. I’ve been saving them in the meantime in case they decide to just delete the ticket entirely.

We are currently conducting a thorough review of all aspects of 123Systems and intend on immediately implementing numerous changes to improve service quality. They just keep stringing me along. At this rate they seem to just be waiting for my year to expire. Well, they got about 10 months left on this one. Could they possibly string me along for 10 months? Are they hoping I get tired and give up? Will they start to outright ignore my tickets? We’ll see. I have screenshots of the whole thing. I’ll post them if they don’t straight up here. 16.. 17 days later I get my KVM located in Los Angeles. Great, seems to be ok, so far. I have to do network tests, so I try to add it to afraid.org DNS panel. Oh, look the ENTIRE FRIGGEN SUBNET IS BLACKLISTED because they have an entire CIDR match on spamhaus that they’ve done nothing to rectify this problem. You can’t win with 123Systems it seems.

Here is the record match I obtained from spamhaus directly:

    Ref: SBL221319
23.94.0.0/15 is listed on the Spamhaus Block List – SBL
    2014-06-28 10:55:38 GMT | velocity-servers.net
    snowshoe range

Based on research, analysis of network records, our own intelligence sources and our experience, Spamhaus believes that this IP address range is being used or is about to be used for the purpose of high volume spam emission.

As a precaution we are listing this range in an SBL Advisory until we are able to determine with certainty exactly who is operating these domains/hosts/servers and also verify the opt-in permission status and origin of whatever lists are used for those mailings.

Note: far too many snowshoe listings for this IP range (grand total of 139 seperate SBL listings since October 2013, some of which are still open). Spamhaus suggests ColoCrossing makes the necessary changes to implement strong measures to stop spammers from utilising its network.

Hello guys! Where to start… What would you do if someone sells you a bottle of juice, but at home you realise it’s a bottle of dirty water? You’d call your local authorities and the seller will be fined or jailed or otherwise persuaded to stop the fraud. Now what would you do if someone sells you a VPS, but few days later you realise it is oversold beyond any practicality and you can’t even SSH to it? You could be angry as hell, but you would be able to do nothing about that (apart from telling everyone about your experience).

Feel myself quite stupid now. A VPS I bought from this “hosting provider” is not responsive, support tickets I send them are just being closed (yes, they don’t even bother to write an answer — just close them), PayPal wouldn’t open a dispute because it is too late now. So practically these guys stole my $25 and got away laughing.

Better donate your money to charity! This wouldn’t buy you a server too, but at least your money will be given to people who deserve it.

Los Angeles has ridiculous latency. What are people suppose to do with these VPS containers? They are useless, you need to make the performance better. You need to get Los Angeles off the DNSBL. You guys have been blacklisted for some time now, what are you doing? Why are you offering MORE packages? You haven’t fixed anything for your existing customers who’ve been nothing short of UPSET. It will take lot more than just sweet talk about the acquisition and improved service. I agree that 123Systems is seriously oversold and can not handle any more customers.

I have seen no improvement in service after the acquisition. I have been a user for almost 3 years. During that time 123systems deleted my files twice. They had major server related problems twice.

The most recent crisis arose around one and half month ago. I thought I will go away but it did not. I have opened lots of tickets asking them to fix my VPSs ( i have 3 with them). They always said they will fix but never did. Lastly I told them to backup my vps and upload the files to my webhost *which I also bought from them) but they never could. Finally after a month they provide me a new vps on a different node deleting all my files, but its the same story with a new name. I cant SSH or do anything so its pointless.

Well I have moved to new VPS provider. And so far they have been really good. I did not had to wait more than an hour for any tickets. The service is much better and most of all they do not LIE.

Anyone who is thinking of buying any thing from 123Systems, please dont. You will just waste your money. I know that their price is really cheap, but believe me its not worth it.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM 123Systems.

Rather go buy something from here, you wont regret it

I will post some screenshots of my VPSs and tickets later on some other comments. I think you guyz will enjoy it. Its a new level of lying, its kinda fun sometimes.

I asked them to refund the money the my 123systems account so I can by another VPS but nothing happened. I even told them to activate a KVM with that money but guess what nothing happened. Lies, promises they never intend on coming through with, say their working on it, they don’t work, they playing MMOs or something over there.. I’m sure of it. The network response time is awful, the downtime is awful. The support is even WORSE? How can support actually be worse than the experience with your system? Cuz they respond with absolute LIES! I’ve had 2 VPSs with them for over 6 months. Not a single problem until 2 weeks ago.

My one VPS will only stay onlineor a couple of minutes until it goes into “unavailable”. I’ve opened 3 tickets regarding the problems and received the same response as others in this thread; we’re working on it and will let you know when it’s solved.

I’ve asked to be moved onto another node without success.

This hosting company is the WORST out of 5 different VPS hosting companies I’ve been with. I’ve been with 123Systems for about 4 months and to be honest, its like a bunch of kids are running this company. My VPS connections were so bad that I’ve just decided to straight up cancel my VPS subscription.

    Pros:
    – Low price, besides the low price, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

    Cons:
    – Constant downtime, I mean like the VPS WILL go down if the server has been up for 6 days straight, and between the 1-6 days, it WILL randomly disconnect/cut or even lag.
    – Slow support ticket answers

    TL;DR

AVOID THIS COMPANY, PROBABLY THE WORST OUT OF LEB AND SHOULDN’T EVEN BE ON THIS WEBSITE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

    Hello,

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Do not buy VPS in this company. I bought a VPS when the owner was andrew and was a great waste, besides very bad support. Then I gave him a new opportunity to the new owners “VSNX Company”, but still the same …. The network of these vps is rubbish and performance too. My vps 1GB of ram has 4 cores (2 of 400MHz and 2 of 800MHz), very poor performance for applications php, plus there is high latency and falls …. NO BUY here. Cheap prices have trap, it is better to buy in a reputable company … 123System is not a reputable company.

    Buyer Beware
Servers are overloaded, limited tech support.

I’ve had some downtime tickets submitted and the have been replied with: “We have removed some abusers, it should be cleared up now.” I have submitted about a half dozen of these tickets with similar replies, often within 24 hours of each other.

Are steps being made to remove and ban these abusers, and prevent the abuse?

i probably wouldn’t suggest these guys either. node can’t break a 30 day uptime. when i put in trouble tickets they indicate “they patch for vulnerability” without notifying their subscribers. generally speaking it’s just a poor quality VPS.
