The OS selection is quite limited and confusing. What is Debian 7 v2? 32-bit or 64-bit? Where’s archlinux, mint, Gentoo, Slackware, openSUSE
And the bandwidth mix Tinet+ HE + Cogent is probably not the best option out there. Ping from a HE east coast customer gets 70ms+ latency because the traffic got routed from HE to Tinet. HE east coast to HE Phoenix NAP should be well below 50ms.

Seems that most of the bad experiences revolved around about a day or more of downtime for some people’s VPS. They fired the guy who was responsible for those VPS’s, so I’m ready to give them a shot.

At least I was until I placed an order and it was immediately marked as Fraud and cancelled. I started a ticket, hopefully it gets resolved, this seems like a great deal.

I went ahead and made a bet that they would be decent. I bought their yearly service for 512MB RAM.
I was lucky, seems like they upgraded my account (to 1GB ram, same price).

The server has been flawless. Connections speeds are great and 0 downtime since I’ve had it (for the past week or so).

Hoping it will stay this great! I recommend, especially for the price. Seems like they had a previous bad rep, and are trying to turn it around.

Three weeks and server is still pending (Pheonix 512). Starting to get the feeling they oversold and are having trouble getting additional machines into the datacenter. Because really it doesn’t take that long to roll out an installation on hardware. Virtualized or not. Over a week before for any response on a ticket and even then I think it was just a script sending out an automated response.

To be honest I’m feeling like best option is to have paypal step in and do charge back. One more week, and then I’m through with this “company”.

I ordered a server from Richard in July. I’ve only had 6 days of uptime since. It’s been completely down since October 10th. I put in a support ticket, Richard responded 3 days later with “Sorry for the delay. We are investigating this and will get back to you.” I still haven’t heard from him. Every ticket I’ve put in since ordering, which have been a total of 6, have always had slow responses. I closed 3 of them just because I got tired of waiting. In one response he gave me his Skype address because he was having problems with the ticket system. I Skyped him October 10th several times and he hasn’t responded to that either.
Long story short, this guy is a scam. I’ve asked for refunds several times and haven’t heard anything.
Maarten, you might want to remove links to his site before he cons other people out of money.

I had ArmorShark for about a year and really liked the two VPS’ I had for the price. I paid something like $5.50/mo for a 2GB VPS with 4x CPU. It was incredible. I also had the VPS get completely wiped at least twice if not three times. After the first time, losing the data didn’t really sting that badly as I almost anticipated it would happen. I stopped paying him a few weeks ago because I was tired of having to reload the VPS all the time. I had decent uptime, though, I was at his ReliableSite location and didn’t really put a lot of load on the services. Something like 95% over the course of the year? Whatever the case, it was an amazing price for the services I received.

Anyway, out of curiosity I just looked the website up and found it was unreachable. Still unreachable I guess now a week later. Poor Richard. It was a good run.
