When ordering the storage server, why add a popup warning against torrents and seedboxes
    that is so stupid

    November 22, 2018 @ 11:15 pm | Reply
    • Our storage servers are meant for personal or business storage, and not mass file transfer. There are better suited products than ours for those specific use cases.

I have active services but I’m getting this error:

I’m sorry but we cannot current accept your order automatically through our system due to billing issues.

If you feel you have received this message in error, then please accept our apologies and view the support ticket generated for this order. Thank you.

    • Same here. I’ve fixed my billing details so billing should like me more now. But support does not respond for a ticket for over a hour. Ticket priority is LOW and there is no way for me to make it higher even I’m sitting and refreshing a page here. Frustrating support.

      November 23, 2018 @ 1:56 pm | Reply
    • We usually respond quickly, but we had an extremely large volume of tickets due to these sales. Even with our support staff working overtime, we were unable to keep up with the number of requests. Most tickets should have been answered by now.

Just a FYI, they are running a flash sale and I think those are wrecking havoc with these specials. Luckily I had purchased the PRO+ a little after the flash sale started when there weren’t that many people awake to swipe the deals. I don’t think they are monitoring this side of the fence. Good luck.

    November 23, 2018 @ 4:33 pm | Reply
    • This offer was scheduled for 10PM EST, but was posted approximately 30 minutes late. We usually monitor the comments for the first couple hours, however, there were no comments at the time, possibly due to lack of approval by LowEndBox staff.

By then, as you mentioned, the flash sales started and we were met with overwhelming response on LET, where users can freely post in an organized fashion with tagging and notifications. This does not mean we ignored customers for the LowEndBox sale; we still had 24/7 support dedicated to answering tickets, live chats, as well as handling the issues people described. The LEB offer was definitely negatively affected by the LET sale, as we had to dedicate some time initially to bringing back the website & ensuring the flash deals went smoothly.

Most of the issues described on this thread were minimal and expected, such as our anti-fraud system, and promo codes being incorrectly applied.

We are going through now and answering any questions. If people are still interested in any of the offers, they will be available for a while.

Any idea if there will be more availability at Amsterdam in future?
I live in the EU and I want a local VPS with as little latency as possible and high connectivity speeds for which none of the servers in USA will be good.

      • Hi James,

It had nothing to do with giving others priority for approving orders. We just received many orders and requests, so, unfortunately, it took longer than expected to deal with the backlog for this sale. A dozen people in our team worked very hard & overtime, accepting many more orders and doing many more support requests, as much as 6x than usual per person, but it still took longer than anticipated.

I bought in the early morning PRO+ (OVZ) from VirMach. Now I regret having done it. Everytime, when I make the updates for Ubuntu 16.04. and reboot, I can not login via ssh from Linux PC anymore. I reload the os a few times and retry. I wrote a Ticket, but until now nobody answers. It is cheap, but when it is not working you waste your time und money.

Yes. The experience for me as well. The isos are old (since apt-get update throws a bunch of errors) and reboot/ shutdown commands locks port 22 and forces one to reinstall the ok from scratch. A waste of time!

I would like to apologize to VirMach. I fixed the problem. It is a ubuntu/debian problem. But my other VPS with the same Ubuntu version at a different provider do not have this problem. The problem is known the /var/run/sshd directory is missing, so sshd is not starting (or rebooting). It must be created at every new boot …
But after 5 hours nobody answers my ticket. May be because today is Sunday ;-)

I’m setting up the server now. Now it is working smooth :-)
Now I must change my attitude: it is a good deal!
There another reason: You can access to the VPS, although sshd is not running. That is super!

I’m looking for the pro+ one, and the price on the site 70$!! WTF

It is $70 annually but you will get discounted price after you use this coupon: LEB83BF2018. I wonder how many times can we use the coupon code.

      November 25, 2018 @ 7:33 pm | Reply
      • Matthew:

Only once per customer. I bought another one and $70 was charged on my Paypal — despite the checkout page showing the discount price. Had to file a refund ticket.

        • niknah:

          Did you get a refund?
I put the $70 in my cart, didn’t purchase it.
Then I brought the correct one. And apparently, that gives PayPal permission for them to charge whatever. And a day later, they charged me for the $70 one even though I never purchased it.

And so I cancelled the PayPal permissions from them, and now they’ve suspended all the services, even the one that I had paid a year for. I think I’ll just cancel everything if they can’t fix it.

Check your PayPal settings > financial section > approved payments and remove them.

          • Hi, by “canceled the PayPal permissions” do you mean you filed for a dispute? If you make a ticket and explain the situation, before it’s too late, our support may be able to assist you.

            December 13, 2018 @ 8:19 am | Reply
        • Hi Matthew, that just means you were signed out so it showed you as eligible for the discount, but then when you signed in on the last page of our billing software, the system removed the coupon since you used it more than once.

This is just how our billing software works, and we try our best to warn people. We did state one-time use per customer when submitting the offer to LowEndBox, but they made an error when making the post. In any case, we do also warn people on our site during the checkout process that “Any discount code applied as a guest may not apply after signing in” when this may occur.

I’m glad you were able to get a refund.

I just bought a KVM with Buffalo server. The deal is so good. But not sure why it seems like the KVM in Buffalo takes time to finish. Is it not good or slow? I mean like other KVM deals finish in just a few minute but the Buffalo deals takes more time. By the way, the price that I got today will be the same renewal price for next year? I just bought it today but the due date is 25th November 2019 but not 27th?

Avoid these people. All my services have been suspended.
I purchased this via PayPal which gives them permission to charge me whatever they want and they charged me for another service that was in my cart which I didn’t purchase.

And now they want to charge $25 for dealing with a charge back for services that have all been suspended.

    • Hello,

If you break our terms of service, you will be charged the suspension fee per our terms. This fee is assessed if an agent has to spend a significant amount of time dealing with your abuse related to breaking our terms. It is usually waived if you cooperate and/or if the offense is not major. May I ask what you did?

Is the VPN/Proxy a regular KVM VPS with lower RAM/Storage? Can I reinstall/upgrade my OS/Kernel?

    November 29, 2018 @ 4:47 pm | Reply
    • Yes, it’s KVM virtualization with 192MB of memory and 3GB storage. You can change your OS, but not many different OS templates will run. We do not usually process ISO mounts for this package either. Our pre-installed VPN OS will be Debian, so you can uninstall the VPN software and install your own, or modify it in any other way. Please note that we only provide support for the application we’ve pre-installed so if you switch to something else, we may not be able to help.

my vps is down for more than 7 hours now and no one updating my ticket, are you seriously in this business?

    • Hello,

This issue was resolved but I do want to post publicly that there was an outage of approximately under 20 minutes and not 7 hours. If your VPS was still down after the outage maybe your application was not auto-restarting. I do apologize for the outage and you were credited per out policy. Outages are rare, but they do occur.

What a scammers, they just charged me an unauthorized amount. Avoid them as plague, move on to Hetzner where for around 25 euro you get the whole server, or to any other provider which there are plenty of!
And if they expect something from you – such as not to register one account for your personal site and another one for your business (like most of the banks account s are setup) – they should post it on the offer page. They should not extort their customers after the fact, to “keep accounts in good standing” – meaning if that is not done they will likely kill all of your VPSes.
They also scam you into creation of paypal billing agreement, in most companies you can just get the bill via paypal and then choose to pay or not to pay.
If you have the misfortune of dealing with them, make sure that you cancel all of your paypal billing arrangements (Paypal -> Settings -> Payments -> Manage Pre-Authorized Payments) so that you do not get charged if this Virus-machine decides to charge you on a whim!

    December 4, 2018 @ 12:58 am | Reply
    • Our terms clearly state one account per household. If your business has a different location & internet connection as well as a different name and is its own entity, you may register two accounts. We also advertise all our packages as recurring, but you have the option to disable automatic payments on our end by just visiting the invoice page.

You authorize your payment and future payments when signing up.

When using PayPal, you have explained it is a link during the order process. It’s impossible to do without being informed.
