  4. I would not bother with BurstNET in Miami. Scranton is good and so is Los Angeles, but I would avoid Miami even “premium” VPS servers in Miami. It’s that bad.

  5. We had VPS in Miami for “DNS on IPv6 network” purposes only. Their IPv6 network is bad, really bad. Our Zabbix monitoring system reported IPv6 connection problems 3/4 of the time we had this VPS.
So in the end we just moved our DNS some other place.
IPv4 network on the other hand was performing good. Out of 31 days of service packets loss occurred only 2-3 times.

definitely not. Those are the official links BurstNET sent to me. I’m already a client of theirs. Mail seem legit to me, from is admin@mailbox.burst.net and come thru their production servers.

Just a quick note i forgot to add: Don’t forget to backup often. This year BustNET lost all my data, i think they got hacked and some/all their UK VPS were deleted. And it took them 3 days and a few tickets to create a new container with a different IP address and setup DNS PTR for the 2 IP address i use.

  24. BurstNET’s VPS service is just terrible. Extremely slow disk IO, often and long downtimes. It could be way better. I have been used it for months, then switched to dedicated server from Hetzner. Now I am looking for cheap VPS service again, with unmetered bandwidth (monthly traffic is about 4T and growing) and enough disk space (50–100G)…

    You said:

“BurstNET’s VPS service is just terrible. Extremely slow disk IO, often and long downtimes.”

We have thousands of satisfied VPS customers. It is likely that the problems you experienced are isolated to one service or node. We do all we can to proactively work to prevent outages and quickly address issues that arise. However, I know that there are some times that certain nodes may be hit with unavoidable problems.

    WST and GeekView,

While I must mention that our forum presence is never meant to overshadow normal support channels, I will try to investigate.

I need to find a serious provider. I am shocked and wishing we did not use burstnet. Up till now they were great. But to be done for many hours with no estimated up time… not cool.

    • There was a major outage all across Miami, with the primary dark fiber provider to the region, to many data centers and carriers. Our entire redundant/diverse path ring was taken out, and we are absolutely livid on how that could have occurred. We are investigating and raising heck about it currently, though we are back online in Miami already, as that should not have been possible given the redundant configuration we implented with the carrier.

It good that Burst net offers Low end prices, but the problem with them is their templates do not have proper paths for the installation [Budget Windows VPS] for an example, I have been using Their service, but I miserably fail to witness that their responce time is low when it comes to technical queries like “This feature is not working, Can you check it out?”, “The CD ROM path seems to be wrong”, “SQl Servers deems to deny to install”.

It takes a lot of time to get your VPS work with them, that the sad part :(

    Hello,

I am sorry but unless I am misinterpreting your comment, you are stating that we use Operating system templates for our Solus Windows VPS nodes. This is absolutely true, and it is also true that we do not allow custom ISOs to be installed. If that is where your concern comes from, I am sorry but this is in place so that each and every Windows VPS is valid, working, and has security up to date.

    Thanks!

    • There should be a new promotion by the end of the month most likely.

How much to add an additional 1GB of RAM?

    Pricing for additional space?

    Thanks.

    • We do not sell such add-ons to our VPS packages…you would just need to upgrade to next larger package(s) instead.

Lame – Their sales pages shows 10% off, not 20% off.

Replying to my own comment: I didn’t realize the original was posted almost a year ago. I (incorrectly) assumed that LEB posted more than 5 Windows offers per year.

are swindlers, I want to charge for more expensive vps that I did not ask and I do not want to repay the money

    • Nonsense. We have been in business nearly 22 years, and are one of the oldest and most respected players in the Web hosting industry. Sounds to me like you are just trying to get out of paying for something your ordered, or want to order, etc..

Contact our Customer Service Dept to work it out.
      They are fair and honest.
If they are telling you no to something, then I can safely assume they are in the right, as we do not intentionally “swindle” our client base….it’s not worth the small change to risk our reputation over a few dollars.

  44. It’s an old post, yet still receiving comments. Will BurstNet send a new offer to LEB?

Never been successful registering with them, though.
Reason: They asked to sign a document BEFORE I could make the payment, yet they asked for PayPal transaction ID on the document. I contacted their customer service, but they never answer what should I write in place of this transaction ID (since no payment has been made). I gave up after several failed attempts.

Burst.net has the WORST customer service of ANY hosting company that I have dealt with in the last 15 years.

In my experience they are rude and could give a rats ass if you are a satisfied customer. They just want their money.

Duke, our customer service department is not in the office on weekends however they do occasionally review tickets remotely. If you have a ticket open in relation to a specific issue please let me know or open a ticket to sales@burst.net so I can look into it for you. I can’t comment on your specific issue until I can review it in our system and see what the trouble it.

Bad customer support. My server down during the Chicago server power outage I take that as normal issue. My server keep down until I submit the ticket which is 3 days after they mention all service back to normal. Now my vps is mess up and not event able to install anything on it. Well done BurstNET! When my billing cycle end I will move to other provider. Worst experience ever!
