Cloud Shards is based in Sydney, Australia and have been around for well over a year now. They’re a legally registered entity in Australia and are also GST registered, which means Australian customers have to pay 10% GST. In addition to that, Cloud Shards is also a registered LLC (Cloud Shards DBA Query Foundry, LLC) in the state of Wyoming, USA. OpenVZ nodes have either dual L5520 CPUs, 6x 256GB Sandisk Enterprise SSD in RAID10, and an LSI RAID card, or dual E5-2620 CPUs with 8x 2TB hard drives in RAID 10 backup up by an LSI RAID card. Storage nodes have either dual L5520 CPUs or a single E3-1230v3, 12 or more 4TB Western Digital SE drives in RAID50, and an Adaptec RAID card with battery backup! Cloud Shards have been featured multiple times before and has positive comments from the community. As always, feel free to share your experiences in the comments or at LowEndTalk! Personally I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Cloud Shards, so I’d say it’s pretty safe to buy from these guys!

Some notes on commenting on LowEndBox:

  • Do not use LowEndBox for support issues. Go to your hosting provider and issue a ticket there. Coming here saying "my VPS is down, what do I do?!" will only have your comments removed.
  • Akismet is used for spam detection. Quoting webhostingtalk.com URL seems to get binned consistently here, but I do peek into the spam box frequently to publish those comments.
