Signed up for a VPS in NYC and Dallas thanks to this offer. I/O was roughly 180-ish and support tickets were responded to promptly.

Worth noting that judging by an ifconfig it seems that there’s IPv6 in NYC but not in Dallas yet. Hope to see that soon.

    • True on IPv6. The post reads “IPv6 is available in their UK, New York and Phoenix location only.”

I have just signed up. It is way better value for money compared to my last provider.

I would say that you definitely want a vSphere account. Otherwise it is not very usable.

Ping time from the Philippines is 166ms, and routing looks good so far (routed through he.net/coresite). And it looks like the server is at WebNX.

FreeBSD etc… is fine as well :) Pretty much anything but Windows :P

Noticed that the Corgitech SLA pdf says that ‘For our VPS Clients we will provide one free operating system reinstall per calendar month. Additional reinstalls will be charged at £20 per request.’ Is it possible for me to install my own operating system (linux) image into the VM without contacting support so avoiding having to pay £20 for second and any subsequent re-install during a month?

    June 25, 2012 @ 4:41 pm | Reply
    • Yes it is :)

      June 27, 2012 @ 8:53 am | Reply
      • To be honest we have only ever had to imply that charge on one occasion where the client request 5 reinstalls within 2-3 days. It’s only there to stop abuse. Normally a few times over the course of a month is fine :)

I just had to learn the hard way that SMTP outgoing is blocked in all their datacenters. So my VPS is useless now. >:-(

    June 26, 2012 @ 5:34 pm | Reply
    • I’m still setting up my VPS there and haven’t installed postfix, yet. If it’s true that they block SMTP servers, that would limit it’s usefulness. I just checked their terms & conditions and AUP again and didn’t notice any mention of that, though. Hmmm…

      June 27, 2012 @ 3:05 am | Reply
    • Did you check with their support? I just installed and configured postfix on my VPS and successfully sent out a test message, so it seems to be working.

      June 27, 2012 @ 5:24 am | Reply
    • SMTP is not blocked on all of our datacenters. It is only blocked on ONE of our TWO datacenters in the UK and for that there is a mail relay in place. This is a limit imposed by the datacenter.

Olaf if you took the time to reply to your ticket, I would have offered you a transfer to our other UK Datacenter if you continued to have issues.

I am at Phoenix, do I have to message the support to enable IPv6? IPv6 details weren’t supplied to me.

    • ufufgnaf:

I have done it, you do need to email the support. The response speed is ridiculously fast, even I set the ticket priority to low. Definite good value for money.

  13. I have a pair of VPSs with Corgitech and what can I say other than amazing, their support is great, even with me regularly needing reinstalls during the initial setup phase when I kept mucking up. It is also blazing fast and for less than some shared hosting plans, why bother with a shared host when you can have a Corgitech VPS?
