Dead Pool December 2011

Another month has passed and here’s another pool of dead providers.

IPAP.co IPAP.co

Current Status: 502 Bad Gateway on CloudFlare

Yes I know that they should been in dead pool long long time ago but their website was working all the way until a few days before Christmas. I guess by now everyone would have hopefully recovered from the scam there. IPAP.co was first listed here last February, and I think the final nail in the coffin would be their $6.99 2GB offer that was just “too good to be true”.

LeetNet Hosting LeetNet Hosting

Current Status: Website timeout

LeetNet Hosting was first listed in June last year with their 1337 currency — they were the first (and the only) provider accepting Bitcoin and only BC on LowEndBox. However they ended up having issues with their upstream provider, and self-declared dead pooled in September. Not sure whether it’s also related to how unstable the exchange rate of Bitcoin was.

QualityServers QualityServers

Current Status: Redirect to UK Cloud

So James did the rebranding of QuickVPS to QualityServers in December 2010. A year later he rebranded again to The UK Cloud. However, this time not only website gets redirected, customers on old services are also to be terminated due to hardware issues. UK Cloud is quite a different service than QualityServers so there won’t be any straight forward migration. Lucky that we still got quite a few nice UK-based low end providers that are of great quality.

RapidoVPS RapidoVPS

Current Status: IP address not resolvable

RapidoVPS was first listed here in December 2010. Less than a year later the website is no longer resolvable. According to this comment they are now “RoadLayer.com”, although they haven’t even bothered to redirect the old website. Would you trust this new company? I think not.

SiSVPS SiSVPS

Current Status: IP address not resolvable

SiSVPS was listed here 6 months ago, boasting “12 years of combined experience”. Unfortunately their business sounded fishy right from the beginning with probably Nigerian operation. Maybe they believed that the world is really going to end in 2012 so they turned off their site on the last day of last year…

vpsVIBE vpsVIBE

Current Status: IP address not resolvable

vpsVIBE came into scene in June 2011 selling 512MB OpenVZ VPS for $5.95. Like how it has been commented in this WHT thread, it’s just another pump and dump scheme from those who previously ran AlienVPS (bailed out by WebRulon) and GenVPS (bailed out by GigaTux). Don’t you worry that they have done a running — they’ll probably soon respawn in yet another low end VPS provider somewhere.

Upcoming…

Some that are currently showing dead since the beginning of this year.

  • Forever Hosting — sounds like false advertisement to me. Forever hosting that lasts only a bit more than a year?
  • ThriftyVPS — they did have me fooled. Finally convinced me to list them again, and a few hours later they were dead.

Ah, Ipap. Quite possibly the finest VPS provider run by data-mining experts for the Iranian government. They’ll probably be back, alas.

RapidoVPS became RoadLayer, but they have been practically rendered dead aswell since, and I’m quoting here: “has canceled the agreement to the datacenter, all machines shut down. services are unable to anymore.”

Two servers I had with them before have been down for a couple of days now and after that statement from their support I’m more than sure they won’t come back online again.

        • Looking over the site, smells extremely like “Ken” as the text is word for the word the same as the UptimeVPS site and the whois is registered to another UK business park / rental space. Will have to keep an eye on that one :-)

James might be running a company, but his management is so fucking hilarious. Creates a brand from 0 (good), then just dumps the hole brand with indexed websites and SE traffic (rofl).

RIP IPAP, the best hosting company I have never had a VPS with =(.

    • vedran:

So basically you have had a VPS with everyone else? Because I can’t imagine anyone being worse that them. Not even infamous UptimeVPS, at least they provided decent service, even if it was a scam.

Anyway, HostSign can be added to the list too, they (don’t know who, someone) sent an email to everyone saying their zombie VPS operation will cease to exist.

Is LowEndAdmin being paid off by Cripperz.sg? CRIPPERZ = DEADPOOL AND PEOPLE ARE GETTING THEIR MONEY WASTED BECAUSE YOU WONT ADD A SIMPLE FOOTNOTE TO YOUR POST.

    January 12, 2012 @ 2:47 pm | Reply
    • Ok, the rule here is… if the site is up, isn’t in the deadpool. Otherwise, I have a little list with some sites in the same situation.

Cripperz has been down just some hours

I understand that you’re upset because this Cripperz host but stop with irrelevant accusations. I mean.. being paid… get real! You’re most likely new here and know nothing about lowendbox site otherwise you wouldn’t post a nonsense like that.
Beside that no one force you to waste money for anything posted on those pages. Discussion thread is open, you have right to describe own experience, to add own opinion about host, to warn others… but what more do you expect? It’s just freakin blog!
If someone still pay for some hosting disregarding all warnings it’s only his/her own responsability to do that. There’s no guarantee neither suggestion to do anything, only introduction of host offers and discussion about them. So get real..

      January 12, 2012 @ 3:22 pm | Reply
    • Hehe. That’s pretty serious accusation. I only get to post the dead pool posts once a month and if their website continuous to be offline they’ll surely be on next month’s dead pool list.

That sure is a serious one…. LEA don’t get paid for any of his blog posts on here, I mean, Would you do the same thing he is doing? Every other blog trying to be like lowendbox.com uses referral links or affiliate links to generate money when people browse their site and click to check the package or offer out, but lowendadmin doesn’t do that, he built the community, you should go back a few months and read some of LEA’s posts about the community, I mean for the longest time he didn’t even do ads in the beginning, I think that’s his only real income from providers is the ones who buy adspace (and not even directly through himself) but through a company called Buy Sell Ads, I believe.. Just because it’s not posted here now, Don’t mean it’s the end of the world and you should be complaining about it, I mean grow up… Just because LEA hasn’t listed it yet don’t mean nothing, look at the date when this blog post was added…. Was Crippzers website down? Nope! So why should he of added it then? When it didn’t match the standards to get listed, and these posts are posted MONTHLY, not daily everytime a host’s website is down or a client has a problem with the services.

I like to know where people get off, complaining about stuff like that. Your complaining about that, I’m complaining about why you wasted your money with them in the first place? It sounded like a joke the first time they got listed here, just use the search bar and look for the first advertisement and the comments, including the admin who was the one that submitted it to LEA; It’s your fault you wasted your money, and now your complaining about it not being listed. You put your point that your having a issue, let it be… that’s all you need to do, move on go to the other hundreds of providers here with great feed back and a great rep. that WILL provide you a stable and reliable solution.
