LowEndTalk community member @vitobotta recently shared news that he is in the process of relaunching his blogging platform, DynaBlogger.
It’s essentially a blogging platform with the most important features geared to publishing content and nothing else. No “bloat”.
There are plenty of blogging platforms in the world – WordPress, Ghost, etc. – but more is always better. We don’t want an Internet where there’s a platform monoculture, and arguably we’re already tending that way with WordPress.
The old DynaBlogger site points out the features of the first edition:
- Built with simplicity in mind
- Fully managed
- No technical knowledge required
- Fully customizable
- SEO friendly
And if you want more technical granularity:
- Publish by email
- Uses a CDN for speed
- Collaboration-ready
- Theme editor
- Powerful text editor that isn’t just TinyMCE
There’s a wealth of documentation.
DynaBlogger is hosted, so it’s somewhat like wordpress.com but without the high prices and with more flexibility.
What I’ve discussed above is version 1.0, so it’ll be interesting to see how @vitobotta builds on that legacy.
One thing you can be sure of is that the underpinning infrastructure will be rock steady. If I had my guess, he’s got a highly scalable Kubernetes cluster as the core engine, with lots of the delivery pushed to CDNs.
It looks like a pretty cool project! And from a guy who has a pretty cool CV.
There’s a thread on LowEndTalk to follow – keep your eyes on this project.

Although there are several blogging systems available, including WordPress, Ghost, and others, more is always preferable. We don’t want an Internet where there’s a platform monoculture, and arguably we’re already tending that way with WordPress.
