FuseVPS - $5.95 512MB OpenVZ VPS

FuseVPS Tommy from newly launched FuseVPS has notified me about their budget VPS packages, which can also be found here on WHT. “Fuse 2” package is $5.95/month which offers

  • 512MB memory
  • 10GB storage
  • 150GB/month data transfer
  • 1x IPv4 + 5x IPv6
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

Sign up link. Servers are with Softlayer in Dallas TX. Domain was registered just 2 weeks ago, and DNS served by a pair of adjacent IP addresses. However Tommy + Jack also run Finer Hosting, which claims to be around since 2004 in the About Us page, providing shared hosting, managed VPS and dedicated servers (although I found the domain was on sale back in 2008).

  1. I went to http://archive.org to check how far back they go but they have them blocked in their robots.txt file. Oh well.

Absolutely no relationship between “FUSEVPS” and “VPSFUZE”, just to set the record straight :)

    • According to wiktionary, fuze is an alternate spelling of fuse. I think it is just people running out of words when they try to acquire domains with either VPS as prefix or suffix :)

  3. Just to clear up our starting date: Part of the team and I used to run a local web development company and provided managed hosting to most of our clients starting back in ’04. After we had seen a lot of positive remarks and referral clients, we decided to buy a domain a few years back.

We’ve tried a few things with the domain such as free hosting (on a seperate server from managed clients), trying to convert them into paid clients. After learning the realm of free hosting, we determed it wasn’t for us. But at the end of the day we decided it was best to go back to our roots: the client; providing managed services.

A lot of our clients @ Finer Hosting are high traffic websites that have spikes of traffic from social news sites such as Digg, Reddit, SU, etc. We’ve cracked the formula on how to handle thousands of connections at once while not having to load balance from many sources. I think it speaks a lot of our IT team and our dedication to adapting to what our clients needs are.

We’ve had plenty of orders since our opening, but still have plenty of unused resources. if you have any questions drop us a line at help [at] fusevps.com or even reply to this thread.

    All the best!

    • Hi Kashan.

It ranges from 1-4 depending on the package purchased. If you send an email to help [at] fusevps.com, we can get back to you pretty fast with the amount of CPU per the package you’re interested in.

      All the best,
      Tommy S.
