    Hi,
The price looks great. Some concerns about bandwidth overages. Nobody wants a bill shock :D

    TOS mentioned:
“Traffic Usage All account plans come with a predetermined amount of traffic allowance. We monitor all accounts and bill $.25 for each gig of traffic exceeded. This amount is not prorated, meaning that 1 MB – 1 GB will be treated and billed as the same. ”
    and,
    “Fee Schedule – All Services
Bandwidth Overages – $.50 per GB”

IMO the rates differ from each other, and sound expensive. (Refer to Linode’s $0.02/GB)

A serious customer maybe also needs email alerts about bandwidth usages.

    • S.C. Thanks for the inquiry. We haven’t updated this because in the 3 years no one has exceeded the bandwidth limit. But you are right, it needs to be updated. Furthermore, we send out alerts at 80% and again at 90%.

I got the 1GB plan. Internet speeds are usually fast. The SSD storage makes updating things easy. Their support is nice. Feel free to request a test script.

Both of my two VPS are down a few hours ago. Status shows “unknown” or “offline” or “unavailable” from the management panel. No updates on their official service status page so far. Submitted a ticket about an hour ago, still no response. I will update this thread. I do hope everything work out fine this time.

    Background info:
I sighed up for the $2.25/mo plan by the end of May. It’s been pretty good as I didn’t expect much for such price. I did have 2 other tickets with them, one got answered in less than 90 mins, and the other get answered in about 3 hrs. If server is not down, I can live with that.

I would say their backend is buggy & has a very long way to go. I made a deposit, and I expected to be able to see my remaining credits in the billing area. But I can’t. I had to calculate on my own based on the invoices. Yeah, I can manage that.

I also cannot find any button to cancel / terminate a subscription of service. I have to submit a ticket to request someone to do that for me, which in some cases might take me hours.

Oh, their system generated invoices come out 5 days before its due date, and you’d see it automatically paid if you have credits on your a/c, so you’d better remember that and just send in the ticket in time. I believe they will eventually work out for you mannually if you mess it up. But for me I’d rather be careful with that to save time for both parties.

That said, I do hope everything works out fine for me this time, though I have a very strong feeling for the bad this time.

More reason I say it’s buggy. I remember there was a time when something was wrong with my VPS and I wanted to do a reinstallation. I logged into the backend only to find the “Manage” button doesn’t work. As then I really wanted to get the work done asap., I even did not send in a ticket asking. Well, some time later I got a ticket from them saying:

      J,

Reviewing our logs, I see you attempted to access the VPS control panel unsuccessfully. This past Friday Night, 7/21/2017, we updated our provisioning, billing and ticketing system (WHMCS). The update caused a bug, one we have seen before, where clicking on the “Manage” button does not provide access to the VPS Control Panel.

We wanted to let you know that the software company (SolusVM) that makes our VPS Control Panel has released a patch to fix this bug. Now when you click on “Manage” you will be directed to our VPS Control Panel.

Sorry for the trouble. Thanks for hosting with HostBrew.

        Update –
Now back online about 2 hours after submitting ticket.

        Quote –
“Last night we lost one of our KVM SSD nodes. Getting user of this node running and back online has been priority number one.Your server should be running now. Please let us know if anything is not working as it should be.We are going to start our RCA at this time.”

Anyway I feel OK with that, though I truely dislike the word LOST. It sounds so …

Sorry if I am being so vigilant…

    Money thieves!
I bought a VPS from them, then when I tried to send emails with it it didn’t allow it.
I asked them about it and they said that it’s prohibited and they started asking me a lot of questions.
Then they said they’re reviewing my “application”
I told them this is not Amazon SES and that I want a refund
Then they told me they won’t give me a refund even though I didn’t use the service
And basically bullied me saying “Now your application has been denied for 30 days!”
I’ll ask for a Paypal refund
My advice, stay away from them.
