HostMist - $3.50/month 256MB OpenVZ VPS in Germany

HostMistFirst off, we’d like to apologize to Richard from HostMist about losing his offer in the tsunami of offers we got sent and are still working through. Either way, HostMist has their new F1 Series OpenVZ servers up for grabs for $3.50/month.

F1 OpenVZ VPS

  • 256 MB Dedicated RAM
  • 512 MB Burstable RAM
  • 10GB Disk Space RAID1
  • 200 GB Bandwidth
  • 1 IPV4 / 10 IPV6
  • SolusVM/OpenVZ

$3.50/monthOrder Here

Richard originally listed a price of $10.80/quarterly, but this came out to more than $3.50/month so I’m not sure if that’s an error on his side or not. Servers are located in Frankenstein, Germany and based on Intel i7 920’s with 24GB RAM and dual 1.5TB drives in a RAID 1. HostMist celebrated their 2nd year since they were first posted on here on the 1st of February.

  1. I think you must change this to the 10.80/quarter, that’s how it appears in their whmcs

I’m almost a year with their $7 512 XEN plan.
    The uptime is great.

    hostmist:~# uptime
     08:34:14 up 113 days, 15:39, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
    hostmist:~# dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    16384+0 records in
    16384+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 19.0992 s, 56.2 MB/s

Again, it’s XEN, the situation may differ on OpenVZ.
    Very recommended provider.

  3. Thank you for the listing we really appreciate it.

I corrected the Quarterly pricing to reflect what’s stated on our website (10.50 USD/Quarter).

Interesting. The XEN VPS Germany plans are similarly priced as their VZ counterparts. For instance F1 (OVZ) and Cyclone(Xen) have similar specs and both cost the same, $3.50.
I’d thought Xen would be priced a lil bit higher.

    • We put just as much OpenVZ VPS on one node as Xen VPS, so why make the price different if the server specs are the same? Once we introduce KVM VPS, we will change pricing as those will run on different Server specs.

I’m fairly happy with the german OpenVZ VPS that I have at Hostmist since a couple of months back. The server I’m on has been restarted a few times since I signed up but at a few bucks per month that’s acceptable and almost to be expected.

Update: I can’t comment on the server performance as my account lies more or less dormant, but the current uptime is 214 days which is very OK in my eyes.
