Payment is accepted via 2Checkout (2Checkout supports Credit Card and PayPal), they have a KB article on how to pay via PayPal. The company is based in Philippines with their Servers in PhoenixNAP in Phoenix AZ (test IP: 174.138.175.114).

One interesting thing about this host is that every time its featured here, it attracts a lot of people especially from Philippines (understandable!!) and an unrelated thread with a BEWARE posted that does not even have a link to Jolly Works Hosting. A bit Googling suggests they may not be much of a team as their About page boasts since they forgot to renew their primary domain name. They were resellers of BurstNET up until Jan 2010 but not anymore. We would still want to stay optimistic about it and at least admire the fact that they have posted openly about their operations and issues.

Not many reviews out there even though they bribed the users to write reviews for them back in 2009 (and may still be doing that).  Mark was studying when one of his offers was posted and the business lived almost 2 years to see the current day, so I guess Mark is taking his business seriously. Word of advice, use them but keep regular backups!

    Ohhh, RAID1…….

I wonder what the disk i/o is like?

    • Anything above 20MB/sec is fine, people can whine about it but that’s the kind of stable IO speed most users should never have an issue with.

sorry i missed it in the title. was only looking at RAM and price. they say they are burstnet reseller. is that good?

      • They “were” not are. They probably rent/own their hardware now.

Kabayan- when you hear the word burstnet- run away as fast as you could. Just a friendly advice.

        • Guys, please dont mix it. This host WAS reselling BurstNET but not anymore. This was just a background info on the host.

Secondly, I do agree BurstNET has issues but its still better than most. It has survived so long

    • Christian:

I don’t think they are burstnet resellers.

I dont know but you have to ask yourself why asim is pumping these guys so hard trying to convince everyone that they arent bad anymore and that 20MB/sec is good.

      April 13, 2012 @ 2:55 pm | Reply
      • Joe, its not the first time I am saying that. I have repeatedly said the same on LET and other provider threads.

I had the same argument with old LEA and he prooved to me that a stable 20MB/sec does not effect users unless they are doing a lot of DiskIO intensive tasks that most VPS providers wont allow.

Secondly, If I was “pumping these guys so hard” (as your mentioned) I would not be taking the time to do some research on them and post the last two paragraphs of this offer.

Still, I know everyone has the right to his/her own opinion and I totally respect yours, even though I do not agree that im “pumping” anyone in personal capacity.

Actually this is the best post I’ve seen here in a while, with all this background info. That’s how a LEB post should look like IMHO

Yes I agree its one of the highest quality posts in last few months. Whoever did it, did a good job :)

I was only bothered because it read a bit like a sales pitch rather than just unbiased deal details/information being shared with us. Maybe I misread some of that though, because you didn’t hide anything.

        • Thank you @vedran, I will try to invest in the same R&D in future posts too

        • @Joe im sorry if you felt that way. Your feedback is very important to LEB

          April 14, 2012 @ 8:24 pm | Reply
        • I personally agree as well. LEB is taking a leap this time, and I am very proud we’re one of the companies given such privilege.

          Thanks @Asim!

  5. Thanks for featuring us again here LEB team! Pretty ironic, some good thing happened to us on a “Friday the 13th” — I’m convinced it’s not really real now. :)

PS: I love the explanation on the bottom part. :) Just to correct something though that we’ve turned 3 years last March 1, 2012. Hooray!

By the TOS, you’re not allowed to run IRC scripts/bots. Does that mean I can’t use this VPS to run a irc bnc service for myself?

Its actually usually the data centres that enforce such rules, not VPS providers.

      April 14, 2012 @ 11:28 am | Reply
      • Correct. But data centers allow justification, so it’s better explaining yourself than moving away or hating from the very start. :)

Can’t blame the DC. I blame the company that hosts their SERVICES in the DC knowing it’s restrictions.

    April 14, 2012 @ 8:07 pm | Reply
    • From a customer’s point of view, you may be right but from a business perspective there are lot more things to be considered and limitations such as IRC forbidden etc are mostly not taken into consideration while choosing a DC

      • Spirit:

Depend from market you targeting, experience and preparation to do research. If you see only price then limitations such as IRC forbidden etc are mostly not taken into consideration while choosing a DC however some hosts know exactly what they want and plan better..

maybe u should change some info on http://www.jollyworkshosting.com/affordable_openvzvps.php
when you mentioned DOUBLE RAM, DISK SPACE, BANDWIDTH and PORT SPEED, i can say it’s some kind of lie
    ram 512mb to 1gb = ok
    disk 20gb to 40gb = ok
    bandwith 200gb to 400GB = ok
    port speed 10mb to 100mb ??

are you sure 100mb is a double of 10mb ? it should be 20mb IMHO
i’m not trolling here.just stating the real facts.

    April 16, 2012 @ 11:04 pm | Reply
    • Hey, thanks for the suggestion. :) 20Mbps isn’t actually a good treat, is it? True, it does not reflect to the 2x port speed (our math doesn’t work on that) but isn’t it a better offer than 20Mbps? Think about it. :D

After 6 days trying to make few contacts without results I managed to log in to their site, where they have information for me about new account. Also I had to learn that after issuing ticket I have to visit their site each time and to log in just to check if someone answered the ticket. Just before first time I’ve managed to make communication with them, I also made a complaint to Moneybookers which they use for payments. When finally I received details for the account even with bad support (2 times I couldn’t log in). Third time my IP was blocked. I had to use my proxy to be able to communicate with them to find out that they closed the account because of my complaint. For all time didn’t receive any email from them. I wouldn’t call them scammers , on every ticket they responded within 2 hours, the problem is the process they use which is different to any other host I have had. They simply do not send emails.

    @Yomero

    I don’t recommend this box.
I ordered a Tiny one in 2012 for a two years period, and i regret it because it has always been very slow (at least 5 seconds to save a file after editing it).

And even after it has been moved to a new node.

OpenVZ seems to be bad configured, because it’s a 128 MB with 128 MB burst memory, but the VPS believe it has 256 MB.

And finally one week ago, it has become almost inaccesible because each time i shut it down i can’t restart it : it’s impossible from the control panel. I must open a ticket and wait one day … or more.

Fortunately this not my main VPS but only a backup of my main VPS that i ordered from Prometeus (that i recommend because never have a problem with it).
