We don’t see a lot of offers for Sweden. I’m not entirely sure why. It’s obviously a very well-developed country with robust infrastructure, and historically some of the more famous/infamous free speech hosts have been hosted there.
If you’re looking for hosting in Sweden, there’s a site that you might be interested in called Webbhotell Info which is a hosting comparison site. I’ve linked the site’s English version but you can read in Swedish as well.
What do you think of when you hear “hosting comparison site”? In theory, these sites use some kind of objective criteria to compare different options for the consumer. In reality, many of these sites are driven entirely by who pays the highest affiliate commission. The more the host pays, the higher the ranking.
However, this is not true of all sites. Webbhotel Info is a bit different and reading through the site, I got a very honest vibe.
First, they are laser-focused on a particular geographic niche. Most of the scammier sites will promote anyone anywhere in the world.
Second, Webbhotel Info doesn’t use affiliate links. That’s huge. You’re getting an unbiased opinion cheap vps and cheap shared hosting providers.
Finally, they present a lot of information such as uptime and page speeds. They also have detailed reviews for each Swedish host. They also publish a Pingdom page for all their reviewed hosts.
There’s an old saying the jewelry business: if you don’t know diamonds, be sure to know the jeweler. The same is true with review sites. Transparency is key. If you’re looking for web hosting in Sweden, check out this site. And if you’ve used any of the sites featured there, be sure to comment below and let us know what you think!
Thanks to HostUp, a LowEndBox community host, for tipping us off about this site. HostUp has some great deals on their web site, so be sure to check them out!
