bought a server with them on their last offer already

My review is 10/10 on the server but 9/10 on support (only offer ticket support no live chat but always answer fast in under 30m).

other than that it’s great service, for the buck. I would recommend it to LEB readers.

Couldn’t pass up on the KVM deal. Great deal for a Chicago KVM server.

Heads up – if any of you want to run Docker or your own kernel you should get a KVM VPS. If you are only running generic applications, then VZ is just fine…

Would love to try this hosting, but they do NOT have Ubuntu 18.04 LTS available in their KVM selections. They only go up to Ubuntu 17. I wanted to run a “MailinaBox’ email server and it requires Ubuntu 18.04

Howdy. Ordered a VZ plan last night but realized i pulled the trigger too fast and that my applications prefer a KVM environment, and so i decided to upgrade to a KVM today. The support reps were quick to help me process my upgrade within minutes, cheers for that speedy response time.

They say first impressions are everything, and I have to say LQ Hosting team has made a great one so far!

I’ll keep y’all updated with my experience.

All these cookie cutter VPS companies using the exact same website template – I love it! I have a hard time giving my money to a business that can’t even take themselves seriously enough to design a website that doesn’t look like everyone else competing in their space and is unique to them.

I bought a 3GB OpenVZ SSD plan. Kernal is at 2.6.32-042stab134.8…Hope they upgrade soon. Otherwise, server feel snappy and responsive.

Because of the, in general, good reviews here i decided to give it a try…but this was just a terrible mistake.

On their site they claim they have 24×7 support and in general services are activated instantly, but this is just a bunch of bull.
They are only responsive before you decide, after the service has been paid their 24×7 support changes dramaticly.

I ordered and paid, and after 24 hours my service was still not activated, meanwhile i wrote them several mails which all stayed unanswered.
After i decided to cancel, notify Paypal and informed them about this, they started to respond and suddenly the service was activated too.

I told them i wanted to cancel anyway, because basicly the 1st impression counts and it was bad.
They responded with a vague answer that the billing department was only available 8 hours a day, written by the so callled “billing magician”…
But untill today the service is still not cancelled and they don’t respond anymore as well.

So yesterday i notified them again via Paypal. Now it’s only waiting a few more days before i can open the claim.

Long story short…think twice before you’re thinking about using a service from these clowns!

  20. Last few weeks things keep getting worse.
HDD much faster than their ‘ssd’:
    #cat ben.sh

    io=$( ( dd if=/dev/zero of=test_$$ bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync && rm -f test _$$ ) 2>&1 | awk -F, ‘{io=$NF} END { print io}’ )
    echo “I/O speed : $io”
