LowEndTalk is abuzz this morning about the return of GPU servers to Hetzner.
They ain’t cheap, but what did you expect…$7/month?
- Dedicated GPU-Server GEX44
- Intel® Core™ i5-13500 14 Core “Raptor Lake-S”
- 64 GB DDR4 RAM
- 2 x 1.92 TB NVMe SSD Datacenter Edition (Gen 3, Software RAID 1)
- Nvidia RTX 4000 SFF Ada Generation
- 1 Gbit/s bandwidth
- Price (monthly): € 184.00
- Setup (once): € 79.00
See YABS below.
Some comments around the web think this is a bit “meh”. And there’s a further limitation, called out @nanankcornering:
The RTX4000 is limited to 70w of power only. 2.5x less than their GTX1080 server lineup (max power of 180w)
So while this is cheap, if you’re going to be running intense workloads, you may need to step up.
Here’s a YABS from @nanankcornering, who shared the disclaimer that there was other work being done on the node:

“They ain’t cheap, but what did you expect, $7/month?” typo?
Sort of…the joke is that $7/month is the traditional threshold for low-end boxes. I changed the punctuation to make it more clear. Thanks!
