>Providers under 12 months old need to display valid Public WHOIS information on their domain.
yet this provider is hiding behind Private Whois, care to explain why it got listed?
Probably based on this:

Looks pretty valid and public to me….
“Ecatel IP: 80.82.70.133” backresolves as “strike.dotvps.net” and LEB has featured DotVPS in the past:
http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/dotvps-4-98-512mb-openvz-vps-in-jacksonville-or-netherlands/
Oh look, and even the same locations and the same test IPs!
“There’s not much more to say about NozHost at this point, they’re quite new to LowEndBox being their first offer.” you say? Not to mention that the sentence doesn’t even make sense (“they’re quite new to LowEndBox being their first offer”?). What a bag of fail.
They gave my Test IP’s for some reason?
My US Node isn’t in Jacksonville i moved it to Scranton..
This is ridiculous, they probably dont even have their own servers..
As for LEB, it gets worst and worst, the new owners dumped the old image of lowendbox behind and now i just cant stand it! the old owner actually put effort into posts :S
Hey I’ve been doing a pretty OK job I thought :) I’ve had no issues brought up in my posts either way.
Well he does have a point, it took one member minutes to find something (same test IP’s) which you didn’t pick up on while doing your entire investigation (or what SHOULD have been an investigation). That’s what we all loved about LEA’s posts.
It’s not like LEA would always did all the work for us. That’s why is there “Leave a Reply” option as something what we use over those few years of lowendbox.com. As someone who’s there from beginning I think that posts above aren’t completely realistic. LEA did good work but it’s not like he would make detailed investigation for every VPS offer he posted. Offer is here as it should be… and you have all chances to do research and make decisions by yourself.
Also didn’t pick up on the fact that this is a script kiddie/hackforums host.
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. We originally wanted to help protect the community from these types of posts and we were attacked by that decision, now we decide to be less strict and give providers the benefit of the doubt and we’re such horrible people. We’re not going to invest hours into each provider, we just can’t do it. But it’s true that you can’t please everyone so we’re not going to try. :)
That being said, my internet has been spotty for the past week so I have yet to actually make a blog post so the others are picking up for my slack right now. My apologies.
“Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. We originally wanted to help protect the community from these types of posts and we were attacked by that decision, now we decide to be less strict and give providers the benefit of the doubt and we’re such horrible people.”
The question was more about whether to disallow shady providers altogether or to post their ads anyway, but with the results of some research and a warning if necessary. There are many old postings where LEA would post a shady provider… and then go on to detail for a paragraph everything that makes them shady, but he’d still let people make up their own minds about whether they wanted to sign up with that provider or not.
Regardless, these guys should be banned from posting and this ad removed if there’s any truth to the claims on LET that they’re running DOSes.
Just read that pathetic excuse of a thread and consider his accusations libellous and defamatory. The VPS was bought for a now former, casual employee Will. Looks like he did some stress testing with it. I only paid for him as part of his weekly wages because i no longer use PayPal, and he doesn’t have a Liberty Reserve account. Making accusations before hearing my story is very unprofessional. Also releasing personal details on open forum is, in my view unacceptable. No real harm was done, abuse in this industry is inevitable. Would the same post be made if i had warez linking on the VPS? I request LEA remove the thread immediately as he has no proof i sent any attacks. Thank god we live in modern world where suspicion alone, doesn’t constitute a crime.
Regardless of where our services are advertised, illegal content isn’t allowed on our servers.
@Jamie what’s exactly issue here? I see just another regular LEB host featuring. It’s up to you if you accept it as good or bad deal – just like always. It’s not like 90% or more of old LEB host offers would really differ from this one.
“This is ridiculous”
That’s a bit strong isn’t it?
@Jamie they do I am friends with Steven him self.
I’ll give him a call now and get him to reply here.
Strange.. Although i have checked the company details, No Accounts etc yet but it looks legit.
The company has 1 Director who is 24.
This is correct.
Mark,
Who are you? Was you ever part of the community before?
Hello,
Whois is valid and public. You can also check our company number 7855344.
Here’s the updated IP’s sorry for confusion.
NL: 80.82.65.199
USA: 199.19.105.64
Regards,
Steven
Hey Steven,
The USA IP given there geolocates to Wisconsin; I’m confused as to where your USA servers are located at… the original post says Jacksonville, FL.
traceroute to 199.19.105.64 (199.19.105.64), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
1 buc-ird-01gw.voxility.net (109.163.229.1) 0.327 ms 0.335 ms 0.349 ms
2 ethernet1-3.ar1.nxd1.bcr.gblx.net (206.57.3.165) 5.874 ms 5.990 ms 6.047 ms
3 po6.ar1.ATL2.gblx.net (67.17.72.86) 133.627 ms 133.757 ms 133.779 ms
4 xe-2-0-4.ar1.atl1.us.nlayer.net (69.31.135.213) 136.719 ms 136.747 ms 136.762 ms
5 10ge1-1.jax01.volumedrive.com (69.31.135.30) 139.366 ms 139.471 ms 139.494 ms
6 199.19.105.64 (199.19.105.64) 140.707 ms 140.746 ms 140.750 ms
If you traceroute it shows Jax volumedrive
Jax = Jacksonville.
The GEOIP hasn’t been updated or something?
The test IP is definitely Jacksonville, a traceroute shows that.
Hi Joe,
Well, I understand there’s a jax01; but if you use the MaxMind demo to test that IP… it says Wisconsin by VolumeDrive.
http://www.maxmind.com/app/locate_demo_ip
Try it yourself…
It doesn’t change the fact that the IP is physically resolving in Jacksonville. Do a traceroute for their test IP and then do a traceroute for SecureDragon’s website (8.22.203.8), should be nearly identical because they are in the same DC. ;)
Ah, alright… understood.
Edward,
It’s Jacksonville.
euh on February 13, 2012 @ 5:49 pm you said it was moved to Scranton, now it’s back to Jacksonville? Can you explain?
He probably got kicked out for ddosing out of his boxes.
I said my Box was moved from Jacksonville to Scranton not nozhost’s sorry about the confusion.
not very fast ;(

HackForum company once again. I would stay away from them
Stop being a troll. or prove your claims
We have already been over this. Regardless of where our services are advertised, illegal content isn’t allowed on our servers. My IP’s are the only one’s not blacklisted by MalwareBytes out of all the hosts on HF. I speak to Steven, part of MBAM management, daily, and remove ANYTHING illegal within 24 hours of it coming onto our network.
I will gladly show you. http://www.hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=2173084
Just because a company advertises at HackForums, does not mean they originate from there. And where they advertise, does not say anything about them as a company; it’s just simply an advertisement.
Just saying. I wouldn’t trust my money with somebody who was on Hack Forum.
You just stated that you don’t trust yourself; as you obviously were on there as well…
Im on there but I dont sell stuff…
Edward L acts mature and responsible, he also have quite a good reputation on Hackforums. He told you that illegal content will be removed within 24 hours.
As long as he doesn’t start typing all caps I support the fact that that is just an advertisement. If you go to a porn site and you happen to see an advertisement for facebook, does that mean that facebook is a porn site?
I meant Steven, sorry. But the same goes for Edward L too ;)
Please get your nonsense out of my thread.
Thanks for your comments Edward and Mastermind. Obviously you two are the brainboxes of LEB :)
Need more Dutch stock!
There’s 5 in stock isn’t there? It says 5 for me?
right lets start off 1:waste of time there services get ddos all the time through norris pissing of people, 2: hosting reseller hosting always down through ddos
they dont help out support tickets replies suck asking which service is down ffs they only have a few servers how hards it when it states on the ticket this service
my mum always told me when its to good to be true it friggin is
these guys are n00bs and i reckopn theres only one person, as if its not norris answering its some guy with no name funny enough
my sites been down now 12 hours and no fix due to ddos i would advise everyone to stay clear like the plague
service: sucks
support: sucks
these guys dont know there head from there ass
This is the first DDoS we have had in months, our servers actually have great uptime for budget hosting. “Norris pissing people of” how do you mean?
Are you suggesting i sign into different accounts to make my company look more successful? Why would i do this? If i was actually doing this, wouldn’t i just make up a random name?
By your spelling and grammar i predict you are a 15 year old impatient kid, who has nothing better to do than complain about $1 shared hosting on a VPS review site.
For VPS customers doubting our uptime please see uptime screenshots below:

you cannot be serious my friend has a few with you and told him not to
and now he goes down nearly daily with attack on your usa czech and romanian one once
you are full of it mate same things happening again to his site check your usa server and we will see
We do not advertise any type of DDoS protection on our shared/reseller hosting nodes, although we do have hardware firewalls, high RAM and 1Gbps on some servers to help mitigate these attacks. We also have software protection such as Litespeed webserver, CSF, DoSDeflate and other scripts.
If you aren’t happy with our service why didn’t you submit a ticket or contact us on live support to resolve your issues rather than posting on a VPS review site? You are welcome to go elsewhere if your not happy, or submit a ticket and i’ll personally attempt to rectify this situation and bring your complaint to a satisfactory conclusion.
Our monthly uptime is actually good, and we aim to, and usually reach 99% uptime. For the price of $1/month, (which we only receive $0.65) the quality of the hosting and hardware is good. You could go to HostGator and pay 5 times as much and you will undoubtedly receive a better service. We don’t claim to be the best but you definitely get what you pay for, plus a little more.
So i guess, it looks like this is one to add to the deadlist… Website resolves to some other hosting company, SSL cert doesnt match, and eset said its malicious.
NozHost was merged into another company under Noz LTD and the domain was sold. Customers were not left without service.
NozHost is now part of the Ixam Hosting group (Company No. 8139415)
