QuadraNet - $5.81/month 512MB SSD Cloud VPS in Los Angeles

Quadranet-Dedicated_Hosted_Servers,_Enterprise_Solutions,_Colocation_QuadraNet_-_2014-06-09_15.41.43Dustin, from QuadraNet, recently contacted us with a nice offer they have for an KVM SSD Cloud VPS. We all know QuadraNet as a provider of dedicated servers and colocation, with several known LEB hosts using their services. Their domain has been registered 1999, though QuadraNet itself started in 2001. Nonetheless, that’s right in the middle of the fall-out of the burst of the dotcom bubble, so it’s impressive they have been around that long. They own space in the LA Telecom Center building in Los Angeles, which is know for its super connectivity.  QuadraNet has 24/7 staffing of their Network Operations Center, so in case anything goes wrong, there’s an engineer standing by. Their setup is decentralized; if a host nodes fails the container can be launched on another host node. They also have dual power feeds on all servers connected to separate UPSes and their network is redundant at the router level. If you decide to give this offer a try, please let us know how it works out!

The offer

  • 512MB RAM
  • 1GB Swap
  • 1 vCPU core
  • 15GB SSD space
  • 1TB bandwidth
  • 100Mbps uplink
  • 1x IPv4 address
  • KVM/Custom
  • $5.81/month
  • Order here

QuadraNet accepts payments via PayPal and credit cards. The service is month-to-months and no refunds will be given. They own their own IP ranges and hardware. Please read their Terms of Service and Service Level Agreement before you order.

  1. Nice offer, I’m in your Cloud now :) good performance and good support. I’m very like your Cloud…

But I think there is a mistake in your price offer now… Because I create instance with same spec and the price is under $5 …

Good catch, yes; we actually increased resources and lowered the price :)
I’ll get in touch with Maarten right away!

BTW, thanks Maarten for listing us.

    • User:

What exactly is the correct price then?

It appears you can’t tell until after you finish the signup.

      June 10, 2014 @ 2:19 pm | Reply
      • User, you can in fact create instances for less than $5.81/M — when you order Infrablue you’re selecting a “preconfigured package” but during deployment you can modify it to your liking.

The first invoice is *just* 50% of the “preconfigured package” you select, after-which you can tailor to your needs. And the second month on, you’ll be billed monthly for the instance and the very first monthly invoice that is generated your “50% deposit” will automatically be applied to that invoice.

Hope this makes sense, let me know if you have any other questions.

        I sincerely appreciate your time.

Just wondering, how do you pick which IP range you get? At VPS ordering time via the panel, or need to submit a ticket? Also do both IP kinds cost the same, or e.g. need to pay extra for the “Asia-optimized” one?

      June 10, 2014 @ 10:06 am | Reply
      • Great question; you really cannot pick which range you’ll receive. As for Asian Optimized IPs; should this be desired, you’d open a support ticket requesting that your primary IPv4 be removed and a Asian Optimized IP be allocated. Alternatively you can have your primary IPv4 non-Asian Optimized and your secondary IPs Asian Optimized or non-Asian Optimized, we’re flexible :)

By the way our Asian Optimized IPs do have a small surcharge of approximately $3/Month.

        June 10, 2014 @ 1:54 pm | Reply
    • Hi Tommy,

Latency is of course great, but that’s not “all” our Asian Optimized IPs are provided for. The main difference is Asian Optimized IP addresses allows us to make broad BGP advertisement changes
to those blocks to affect incoming and outgoing paths to correct any routing irregularities, congestion and other negative effects that Chinese (and some other country’s) ISP’s frequently have.

We segregated and assigned unique blocks of IP address space, so that we can make these changes and only effect those blocks without having to force our entire customer base to go through the route changes (which for them may then offer less than optimal routing).

Sometimes we have to completely turn down entire transit uplinks via BGP to the Asian Optimized IP blocks in order to correct incoming path congestion or routing issues that the Chinese ISP’s are having at any specific time.

With our standard network, we will not do these changes as it will mean our entire customer base will then lose access to that turned down transit uplinks route paths. So if the client wants us to be able to provide assistance with the frequently sub-optimal routing issues that Chinese ISP’s have, they must be using our Asian Optimized IP blocks, otherwise they need to stick it out and wait for the Chinese ISP’s to resolve their issues on their own.

Great question, yes the vCores are dedicated; you’ll never have an issue with your allocations :)

    June 10, 2014 @ 7:40 pm | Reply
    • perennate, good question!
The initial invoice is a deposit, essentially 50% of the Infracloud package you order; the deposit is then credited to your account and once the invoice is generated at the end of the month the credit will be applied to that invoice.

Moving forward (the second month on) you will simply be billed at the end of the month.

Let me know that makes sense.
