We’ve managed to maintain our shared & reseller hosting services based upon the popular and highly desirable cPanel/WHM platform, while also supporting those interested in the DirectAdmin platform by offering them tailored solutions on our VPS product line.

DC02 is one of RackNerd’s point of presence in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, with amazing network connectivity both for the US and China — a lot of customers have trusted RackNerd and have provided a lot of positive feedback on the performance and reliability of this location.”

Check out their many offers below, Shared & Reseller Hosting and KVM Plans! They are also giving out free RackNerd pens to anyone who orders and opens a ticket requesting one be shipped (must be U.S Based).

Their WHOIS is public and you can find their ToS/Legal Docs here. They accept PayPal, Credit Cards, Alipay, Bitcoin, WeChat Pay, UnionPay, Amazon Pay and Boleto as payment methods.

As always, if you do order from them, we encourage our readers to share their thoughts below in the comments section.

Here’s what they had to say about their company:

“RackNerd introduces infrastructure stability and provides Dedicated Servers, Private Cloud solutions, DRaaS (Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service), flexible Colocation, Virtual Private Servers and advanced DDoS Mitigation services — maintained by a team with decades of experience in managed services, datacenter operations, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service. Solid company and excellent support! I purchased a Black Friday deal a few months back, and couldn’t be happier with the service.

I’ll think about getting a reseller account. Might actually be able to use one to host some of my client’s websites that don’t demand a VPS…

Any chance of Debian 10 being made a standard KVM option (it’s stable since Jul ’19) ?

Right now it is not available in template form. The good news is that RackNerd is flexible and can mount an ISO for you to complete an install via VNC.

    • Hi,
I can appreciate you looking out for the best interest of the community, and I’m not one to stop anyone from voicing their opinions. I don’t condone scamming, so I’m with you and support you against anyone who does scam.

I’ve never scammed anyone, nor have been associated with any scams. I’ve successfully exited a company back in 2013, worked for a decent-sized company that only had 3 locations at the start of my career there, and I lead the growth of the company by personally selling millions per year, eventually becoming the Global Sales Manager.

By the time I resigned, the company had points of presence in 9 locations. I pursued personal and professional growth, and here we are with RackNerd.

Many professionals, enterprises, and people within this community know and appreciate me. I’ve only helped, and wish providers success – I often offer advice and support when people have shown interest in giving up. If you or anyone needs help with anything, count me in!

Sorry I’m a bit confused with “template”.

I was assuming that for a KVM, the user *must* do a complete install of their chosen OS, including those offered as stock, from a mounted ISO.

    Is that how it works?

    February 24, 2020 @ 1:17 pm | Reply
    • Hi Grum, no worries.
Not all OS’s need to be installed from a mounted ISO, we offer a variety of templates (pre-installed OS’s) you can choose from in the ordering form, or reinstall with at any time via our control panel for your convenience.

Only OS’s that you do not presently see available as a template within our order form would need to be installed from a mounted ISO. You can always open a support ticket after ordering with an ISO, we’d be happy to mount it for you.

Our shared and reseller packages are quite lucrative, and the performance is there. I can only expect other end users to feel the same as you do!

P.S Our reseller/shared hosting offers are white-labeled as well. This is very good for those who are looking to sell hosting services but also appear to be a direct customer of the upstream, without exposing RackNerd as the provider.

I sincerely appreciate you sharing your great experience, thank you again for being our customer.

    Hi,
What does “while also supporting those interested in the DirectAdmin platform by offering them tailored solutions on our VPS product line” mean? You will provide DA on the VPS?

I bought a VPS in the BF deal and another a few weeks ago, having issues setting up the VPS to host WP sites – god knows what I am doing wrong.

I did reach out to support but it is a cheap unmanaged VPS so they were reluctant, tbh maybe I confused them. Dustin did ask them to reply which they did but not helpful for my case.

I don’t mind DA or cPanel, deal looks good.

    February 25, 2020 @ 1:27 pm | Reply
    • Hi tdwuk, thank you for being our customer. We sincerely appreciate your support.
We can provide Direct Admin VPS licenses at $9/m – this is totally optional. If interested, just let our sales team know and we’ll take care of this right away. We can also assist with the installation free of charge.

As for VPS cPanel licensing, we can also license and install, though cPanel has switched to tiered licensing, as such the licensing structure has changed. See below:

      – cPanel Pro Cloud (up to 30 Accounts) $21.00/Month
      – cPanel Plus Cloud (up to 50 Accounts) $30.00/Month
      – cPanel Premier Cloud (up to 100 Accounts) $38.40/Month

Alternatively, the most cost-effective solution for those budget-conscious would be our shared/reseller packages. Our shared hosting includes cPanel and our reseller hosting includes cPanel/WHM. Of course, you’d want to weigh whether you’d like root or not, if full root is required a RackNerd KVM VPS would be the way to go.

I am in the asia. I did a random speedtest over 24 hours and my best is getting 103kbps for a split second and an average of 8kbps most of the time. Will you be improving your asia speed? I am keen to take up a VPS

    February 26, 2020 @ 12:40 am | Reply
    • Hi luchris, we sincerely appreciate your interest in RackNerd!
The speeds you’re seeing are *not* normal; we’d like to investigate and assist so that you can become one of our customers. We have a healthy amount of customers from the Asia region, and they’re overall happy with the level of service we provide to that region. One thing that could help us is an MTR. It could be local. Happy to look into it, can you send one to dustin@racknerd.com please.

Of course, network performance for that region fluctuates. It’s a tough market to cater to, due to dynamic internet weather and saturation that region continually suffers. We’ve managed to cater to this market with the help of the upstream carriers in our mix, which happens to be some of the best providing excellent routes, low latency, and historically reliable, stable and reputable links.

    • Hi fajar! Thank You so much for being our customer – our latency is good, I have to agree with you.

There is no doubt that speedtest.net is the most used speedtest checker out there today, however, the problem is – most speed test servers (and especially ones that run in exotic/foreign locations where bandwidth is not highly available/established) itself run on shared network ports, and on top of that, have many simultaneous users testing from it at the same time. This can render a fairly inaccurate result especially in the world of testing server/datacenter environments.

The proper way to test would be to run an iperf3 test, and ensure that the remote server you’re testing from is set up on a dedicated network port equivalent to 1Gbps or higher.

In either case, please feel free to email me at dustin@racknerd.com here to help any way I can.

I wasn’t able to replicate this, and I asked our team if anyone else reported issues, unfortunately, no one else did. Additionally, our SolusVM/Control Panel i.e NerdVM is hosted on an entirely different server than RackNerd. Also, our internal monitoring, and third-party monitoring i.e hetrix didn’t catch anything.

Out of curiosity, what browser are you using? I am speculating it may be firefox settings being strict in conjunction with Cloudflare. Not sure, just throwing it out there.

    Hi!

    1. Does your reseller hosting comes with free billing software? If not, what billing software can you recommend (free, cheap)?
    2. Is this whitelabel?

    February 27, 2020 @ 11:26 am | Reply
    • Hi Dim!
Thank you for expressing interest in RackNerd’s reseller product line – it is completely white-label. This is excellent for those who wish to appear as if they’re direct with the upstream. We support and promote business growth, we want our resellers to be successful.

As for billing software, we by default do not include it as it only would raise our customer’s cost. There are so many options out there and customers have their own preferences according to their target business. For recommended billing platforms, there is quite a bit. WHMCS is one of the leaders, cost-effective when comparing it to Ubersmith. Also cPanel/WHM and WHMCS integrate quite well together. Full automation from provisioning, suspension, termination, billing, ticketing and so on.

If you’re open to other options, you can look at Hostbill, Clientexec, and Blesta to name a few.

The promotion is available based on inventory, so go ahead and place the order; once we’re out of stock we will try our best to replenish.

Yesterday, while my sites were down, I wasn’t too happy with the support. The phone support doesn’t even know which company you’re calling for and offers to send an email.
However, once I settled in and my sites are up, I couldn’t help but notice that the speed is really nice.
Turned out their security locked me out yesterday.
What made me unhappy yesterday makes me happy today. I want everyone locked out who tries to login too often!
Today, the email support was fast and friendly.

I’m considering getting serious with these guys and buying a bunch of IPs, extra disk, like I really mean it. Even recommeend them if it stays like this.

Pleasantly low number of attacks also. I mean, if it continues like this, I got a deal of a lifetime and can afford a separate VPS for each of my 3 visitors per day websites. OMG SO POSH

    • Hi Cheese, thank you so much for sharing your experience. Feedback like this is what helps companies establish better operations.

As of right now, like many companies, we staff the phones 24×7 though we try to avoid phone support, due to social engineering, account security, documentation and so on. Our goal is to simply answer and or expedite requests or handle sales calls via phone. Tickets is where our speedy support comes into play, and account verification along with the associated services to avoid social engineering, increase account security and so on.

I will have to review the call to see how we can improve, I want RackNerd to do well, and your feedback and experience only help us improve. It appears you’re happy, and that is what matters! Thank you for being our customer, we sincerely appreciate the business and hope to continue growing together!

A lot of our customers have been very happy with the level of service we provide, we’re working hard and leveraging our industry knowledge. We know exactly what we’re doing, we’ve been in the industry for a very long time.

At some point, I know now may not be the time or perhaps for you never, but I do hope we can do business together at some point. I

I keep responding because you accuse me of spreading rumors.

It appears that you define bad reviews as rumors while good reviews are testimonials.

Businesses fail because of bad decisions. Alpharacks failed.

Some mea culpa would show that you’ve learned from your past.

Trying to weasel out of past mistakes shows that you will keep repeating them.

            • Hi Caveat,
I’m sorry you felt that I was accusing you of spreading a rumor, that is far from my intention. I simply have nothing to do with the rumor you read online – it is simply just a rumor, thus I was implying folks are smart enough to do their research prior to purchasing Including the ability to validate a rumor or understand it is just a rumor. I’m doing fine with or without the rumor, simply wanted to address your comments. I’m totally OK with it being a concern for you, and or discussing the rumors. No problem at all.

It seems to me that Dustin is trying to re-establish his credibility despite possibly being involved in some unpleasant business in the past. He may have learned from any mistakes that were made. We should be reporting on our experiences here, and not trying to discredit people who are actively trying to distance themselves from their past. (I’m not saying that you’re trying to discredit Racknerd or Dustin if you are only suggesting that people should do some research.) Should we be cautious? Of course. Should we write him off completely just because of some past mistakes? Not necessarily. From what I can tell, he’s trying to build a brand/company (which is not easy), and so far seems to have a lot of people saying positive things about their experiences. I think that’s worth something. My experience with his service has been satisfactory thus far, and I hope that nothing will make me retract that statement.

On a related note, Jon Biloh is in a similar position when it comes to re-establishing the brand and credibility of LowEndBox, after years of dysfunctional leadership. Should we stop reading LEB because it’s run by Jon Biloh, who may have had a questionable history with his past (or present) corporate or personal affiliations? Or should we give him, and the website, a chance to demonstrate that things are changing, and that our voices are being heard? From what I can tell from his LET posts, he’s actively trying to clean up a messy past, and we should give people a chance to prove themselves.

However, since service providers do take money, we hope they won’t run away with it, especially with packages paid annually, or long-term generally. There is risk involved when signing up with any provider. Perhaps we should expect the worst, but hope for the best? People have to start somewhere, and if Dustin proves to be a fraud, I think he’ll upset enough people to not have it easy on his next venture. But for now, since RackNerd is a relatively new company, I think it would be best to see how this plays out, knowing that we should be cautious, so your insistence of “caveat emptor” is certainly valid. Most of us (I suspect) have had bad experiences with a variety of providers featured on this website, so I think that most of us are (and if not, we should be) cautious by default. Doesn’t mean that we won’t get fooled again, but then maybe we’re the ones not learning from past mistakes… hmmm…

    Reseller-LEB-100GB allowed 35 CPanel account.
Is this means only 35 domains are allowed or each of the 35 account can create multiple domains ?

    March 4, 2020 @ 1:19 am | Reply
  27. Hi kiasu, good question!
We will actually allow 35 individual accounts created under the reseller, those individual accounts can create and host as many domains as desired.

Does [Edit] button under rDNS work for everyone?

    March 5, 2020 @ 12:08 pm | Reply
    • Hi Rok B,
We do offer our customers the ability to set rDNS within the client control panel – if you’re having an issue I’d like to look into it personally. Send me an email dustin@racknerd.com

P.S One thing I am thinking, we do have some leased IPv4 CIDR blocks from our upstream, which happen to be smaller blocks (not /24 or larger) so those specific blocks do not have rDNS delegated, so if you happen to be on one of those ranges our techs can set rDNS for you which would be the reason why you cannot do it yourself.

I know this can be an inconvenience, especially when we promote the ability to set rDNS via the client portal – though the demand has shifted to more unique, diverse CIDR blocks. The good news is that we do run a true 24×7 support team, so this means on-demand you can ticket in and we’ll handle rDNS requests quickly.

        • Hi Rok B.
Propagation does take time – though a week is a excessive for propagation. I’m curious.
Can you please provide me with the original ticket number where you requested rDNS to be done – I’ll take a look.

          • Rok B.:

            Hey Dustin.
It’s not the problem of propagation per se (I guess). It’s that I’m getting ‘Reverse DNS is disabled for this ipaddress. Please contact support’ pop-up when I click on Edit button. I understand it takes time for PTR record, but I can’t even edit anything. I have to add that I’m a total noob, so maybe I’m missing something in SolusVM? Ticket is #229542

            Thanks for your time.

            To Grum:

Thanks for your reply, but I’m not even that far yet.
As for the NTP, yes, there is plenty of Time out logs, but last one is synched.

        • Grum:

The ticket was answered promptly and the so called “propagation” (which is actually just waiting for your intermediate dns server(s) to give up their cache) was less than 48 hrs.

You (and they) should be able to check directly with the authoritative nameserver using any of:

          $ nslookup 108.166.xxx.yyy ns1.multacom.com

          $ host 108.166.xxx.yyy ns1.multacom.com

          $ host -t ptr yyy.xxx.166.108.in-addr.arpa ns1.multacom.com

          $ dig @ns1.multacom.com PTR yyy.xxx.166.108.in-addr.arpa

          $ dig +trace PTR yyy.xxx.166.108.in-addr.arpa | grep PTR

Btw, is NTP working for you? (see below)

Er, what actually are/were you waiting on?

rDNS cannot be edited via the control panel. At all.

You must submit a ticket with the PTR record and *then* wait. ;-)

    • Hi Grum, I hope you are well!
I want to personally help with this, though without root access, it’s hard to say. It could possibly be that your resolvers need to be configured on your server (/etc/resolv.conf) or if you have some iptables rules that may be restricting this.

Can you please email me? dustin@racknerd.com

Hi Dustin, I am well thanks. :)

It’s not my intention to use LEB as a support forum, just reaching out to other LEB’ers because I’m know as fact that mine is not an isolated case.

If you could just provision a test VM, any OS, I’m confident the problem will be seen there too. It’s not a problem with the resolvers, it’s upstream on the network.

I’ll ping you an email later. We’re also in #lowendbox on Freenode IRC if you want to live chat.

  32. Hi MD MOSAROF HOSSAIN! Thank you for expressing interest in RackNerd’s reseller offer! This is a great product, for those want control over individual cPanel accounts they create, and also an easy way to earn residual income throughout the local and global community without taking on the typical expenses involved on providing such services i.e software license cost, hardware cost, colocation cost and so on. So good work on considering this product line, and leveraging RackNerd. I’m quite confident this stepping stone is your way to success.

To answer your questions, see below:

#1 That’s a great question considering providers at times won’t expose it, nor implement “limits” thus causing saturation of resources, poor performance and more. We’re quite transparent ensuring infrastructure stability both to you and your customers. Here’s our current design:

    CloudLinux Settings (per cPanel account):

    CPU – 100%
    I/O Limit – 80 MB/s
    IOPS Limit – 15,000
    Physical Memory Limit – 1GB
EPROC (Entry Processes) Limit – 200
    NPROC Limit – 220
    INODE Limit – No limit

#2 Yes, totally white label. For anyone interested in finding out who your provider is, they will simply see the upstream (datacenter) – RackNerd would not show as your provider what so ever! We, of course, are here for you, to help *you* on demand, though we appreciate and recognize the importance of white-label platforms for our resellers, thus we deploy our infrastructure to support that.

#3 Good question! We support our resellers, and will always assist them with scaling their business, both up and down as needed – when additional storage is required, we can always upgrade you to the next reseller plan, and or quote something custom, specific to your needs at the time. In that case, you’d want to email sales@racknerd.com or even myself, dustin@racknerd.com – always eager to help, and ensure customers are successful.

Here’s another promotion we recently featured on Low End Box that is slightly more cost-effective.

      https://my.racknerd.com/cart.php?a=add&pid=138

At $39/year all you need is one customer per month paying you $3.25/m for their “shared hosting” which is very very doable, and anything beyond that is pure profit for you.
So let’s say you have 20 customers paying $3.25/m that is $780/yr you earn. Quite lucrative.

We hope to do business with you!
