Sam from RethinkVPS has emailed me their LowEndBox exclusive promo. Use coupon code LEB15 at checkout to get 15% off recurring discount. Here’s their VPS hosting plans, and “VPS 1.0” is $6.76/month after the discount. Direct sign up link.
- 128MB guaranteed/512MB burstable memory
- 30GB storage
- 1Gbps unmetered bandwidth
- 2x IPv4 addresses
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
They take both PayPal and AlertPay. Sam told me that recently they have moved to a new datacenter which enables them to provide full 1Gb/sec unmetered bandwidth, whereas their previous offer only gives 400GB/month before throttled to 20Mbps. And from their last WHT offer, they seem to be at Los Angeles and Scranton, again! Didn’t they just move to Ubiquity Servers in Atlanta/Phoenix a few months ago, from LA and Scranton? The price also went up a bit, but you do get more storage space.
WHOIS is still masked, and they still have both NS on the same server. IRC, torrent and anonymous proxies are forbidden in the ToS.

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
Just a little warning. We have ordered a new IP subnet but because it is Sunday we won’t get it till tomorrow. So if you order before then please expect a couple of hours wait.
Hey,
what provider are you with? Burst.net?
Yes we moved back to Burst.NET.
Oh , Which servers do you have with them? do you have a test file and test IP 🙂 ?
Thanks for your interest Jack.
Can you give us about 24 hours to get a speedtest file posted for you as well as test IP. We are still working hard to migrate customer data over from a few of the nodes.
Okay. it was just to show to-be clients some background.
I had to do a migrate the other day so slow. took me 10hours in total.
Hello,
Where can I find your TOS, there must be some restrictions I guess where I can use your unmetered bandwidth for.
Found it, very stupid of me – I was sure I couldn’t find it, must be the hour – I’m tired.
Now they are offline… for more then 10 minutes.
Last long time..
Sorry all –
We waited till the last moment to migrate our own web services to our enw web server and It appears we had a slight issue with DNS and IP Binding. This has been fixed now and we are back online.
the vps didn’t active after i payed 24 hours later,
the rethinkvps.com down more than 10 hours,
what’s happend?
There up for me.
Clear your cache.
Servers have the new IP’s and all ready for new orders!
Website still down
Site loads fine. Are you having problems?
Its loading very slow…
Speeds should be fine now.
Due to rapid growth we are racking another node as soon as possible!
Sites really slow still…
The site is down… and my vps has no speed. 1 day passed and I still have not received any message from the management team. What happened? could I get my money back?
Sorry Michael but we are having some issue with our webserver and we should have it up and running A.S.A.P.
