Pretty sweet offers. Just ordered one to replace one of my old OpenVZ VPS’s. Dylan was helpful to answer all of my questions via ticket before I placed my order.

    Also, +1 for accepting ETH!

Custom ISO (on KVM of course) is supported, though buried in an older announcement. Probably requires a support ticket. Good news for those who plan on Gentoo, OpenBSD, or any other less common OS.

rDNS/PTR requires a support ticket, but most folks probably don’t change this setting often.

Hosted on ColoCrossing (checked the test IPv4) which means there’s no IPv6 support and there won’t be until ColoCrossing supports it.

Private networking isn’t mentioned and is thus, probably not supported but may be something for SparkVPS to consider adding as another feature.

Anti-DDoS is briefly mentioned but no mention of up to how large of an attack it may handle? I thought ColoCrossing only offered anti-DDoS at their Buffalo, NY DC but they may have expanded this.

Looking at an order page for a dedicated server at ColoCrossing mentions complimentary DDoS protection of 2 GBps, while it’s more for 50 or 100. I would appreciate if the owner of SparkVPS could chime in regarding this.

I am really liking my 6GB OVZ VPS here. Haven’t set it up in production yet, but just messing around with it in SSH feels pretty darn responsive, and benchmarks rank well (see below). Thinking about getting a Windows VPS too, would be useful to use @ school.

        Hey Dylan,

I have taken a 6GB KVM and it is performing good. Benchmark test shows good performance.
However below in this post Brian is commenting “You can use 50% of one CPU, if you buy the 4CPU VPS, if you use more your VPS will be suspended without any notification.”
I need to take this in factor before buying one more KVM which i need.

Also i need a Windows VPS. Do you have anything more than 3GB RAM. I need approx 6GB. Also please clarify if Windows Server is trial or Full Version

Not sure how Dylan & co does it so well, but shit! Color me surprised. The VPS exceeds my expectations, both service and performance wise. Installed CPanel in record-breaking time, and imported a relatively large MySQL DB and the server handled just fine without issues.

    Amazing overall, thanks!

    • This was never a secret – it’s a pretty well known fact that OpenVZ does not support Docker, as containers share the same kernel as the host node. I apologize if this was not clear. This is actually one of the primary reasons why we started to offer KVM VPS.

There are KVM VPS offers in this special offer that support Docker and running your own kernel.

@Elliot – if you want to run Docker check out the KVM specials in this post. It is fully supported on that platform

Docker runs fine on OpenVZ 7.
I didn’t expect to get an OpenVZ 6 based box running a 2.6 kernel in 2018 and it is not clear from the post nor from the website.

EOL for OpenVZ 6 is in a little bit more than one year so I think it is very wrong to still be provisioning that for people that sign up for a one year plan.

I got a 6GB VPS since two months with them.
I have had several downtimes (2-3 times a week), the CPU is throttled.

You can use 50% of one CPU, if you buy the 4CPU VPS, if you use more your VPS will be suspended without any notification.

So I do not recommend them, you can get a better VPS for that price point!
