Elvis from TheServerExpers wrote in last week to tell me about their current promotions. They now have a coupon code to get $1/month discount (promo code VPS1) on their unmanaged VPS Beginner package, which comes down to $6.95/month.

As discussed in previous blog post, they have their servers with HostNOC in Scranton PA. While the plan looks very similar to BurstNET’s offer (same control panel, same spec, $5.95), TheServerExperts said that their VPS are in their private cage.

Am I supposed to believe that BurstNET and these guys just happen to be in the same datacenter, have the exact same packages, and have comparable prices?
I smell something fishy.
Even their dedicated servers have the exact same specs as BurstNET.
I’ll be the first to call BS about them having their own private cage :)
Well I am giving them the benefit of doubt :) They have been around for a while so they must have found a way to survive…

If a service is suspended, the client will be required to pay a reactivation fee of $55.00, and when applicable, to cover any administrative costs associated with the offense/violation, as determined by TheServerExperts.

Thank you all for your responses.
As said many times we own all our own hardware which are located in our private rack/cage space.
We also offer other location in New York, but is currently sold out, we are in the process of getting more rack/cage space.
PS: Mudel you are free to request a tour with one of our staff to verify the private cage.
I think what happened is TSF was just too lazy to do their own plans (no offense lol), It’s easier on their end to just copy BurstNET since they are successful and let that be that, If TSF is getting sales then so be it let them copy BurstNET’s plans.
I personally don’t see why they couldn’t have made their own plans though, They would get more sales with their own plans because a lot of people are going to turn their nose up at TSF because they think they are burstNET resellers no matter how much they claim that they have their own cage/rack etc..
That’s just my opinion though :P

@ Andrew – What I meant was “Is it used to host the VPSs offered on your site?”. LOL. Ok, it didn’t come out right ;) Just because you have a private cage doesn’t mean it’s where you host certain products or services :)
If you guys really run all of your own nodes, then you have a funny way of matching Burst, down to the very last detail including control panels and upgrades.

I’m going to scranton next month after i get back from phoenix to see the burstNET facility, I’m gonna lookup TSE while I’m there and I’ll be sure to let everyone know if they have their own ‘private’ cage. I hope they do have their own private rack/cage like they state otherwise I’m going to be highly disappointed that they would lie about it.
Anyways, I’ll let you guy’s know next month when i head up to Scranton.
P.S I intend to ask if i can get a tour of their racks in Newyork that they state they have as well because it’s pretty close. I will let you guy’s know what i come up with :P

We have a very close business relationship with our DC’s, we buy from the same hardware vendor they buy from and use almost similar setup/configuration due to the popular demand.
Why reinvent the wheel?

Looks like you guys ripped Burst’s SLA: http://www.theserverexperts.com/company/sla.html vs https://www.burst.net/policy/sla.shtml. Not good, not good at all.
If they did, they spent a whole lot of time removing all of the page breaks out of the burst.net one.
Using the same document may be a requirement since theServerExperts sits inside of burst.net. They would have to follow the same policies of the datacenter.
