Top Providers Q3 2013 Poll: The Results

The moment we’ve been waiting for is finally here, the results of the Top Providers Q3 2013 poll! I would like to thank everybody for voting! Without you guys this poll wouldn’t even exist! Thank you!

Now, on to the results and the congratulations. The winner is: RamNode! Nick and team, congratulations on winning the second provider poll in a row! You guys have a solid business that is liked and appreciated by our community, which makes you the rightful winners of this poll! Second: Prometeus! Salvatore and team, you guys always manage to amaze the community with great services and pricing, even with iwStack! Keep it up and maybe you’ll take Nick of that first place some day ;-). Third: INIZ! Patrick, well done and congratulations! INIZ has been building on the path to the first place for a couple of months now. Right now they’re third, but who knows what the future may bring. Keep it up guys!

First: RamNodeSecond: PrometeusThird: INIZ
ramnode
Coming first, for the second time in a row, is RamNode with 150 points! RamNode has once more gained popularity in the last quarter, which is all the better for them and for us! Congratulations guys!

The coupon code also applies to all other plans!

prometeus
In second place, with 126 Points, is Prometeus! Prometeus has won three polls in the past and are still going strong, now looking at expanding outside Italy with their offerings an eventually iwStack!

  • 256MB RAM
  • 256MB Swap

  • 6GB SSD Disk space

The coupon code also applies to the 512MB Xen package!

iniz
Last but not least, in third place with 60 points, is INIZ! A first-timer in the top 3, but not an unknown provider for us LowEnders. INIZ worked hard to gain popularity and has done well!

  • 2GB RAM
  • 1GB Swap
  • 4 CPU Cores
  • 100GB Disk space
  • 2000GB Outgoing bandwidth
  • 1 IPv4 + 1 IPv6
  • OpenVZ / SolusVM

  • Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Los Angeles, CA, USA and New York, NY, USA

RamNode started providing OpenVZ and KVM services from Atlanta, GA, USA in 2012 and have been known for their speedy SSD or SSD-cached servers. Early 2013,  they expanded to Seattle, WA, USA and a bit later to Amsterdam, The Netherlands! Nick is known to hang around at LowEndTalk from time to time and always manages to impress us with his nice discounts, as is again the case with the offer above! Meanwhile, being an established provider, you simply can’t go wrong with RamNode, so make sure to grab a box from the offer above!

Prometeus: is there anything these guys can’t do? They offer regular OpenVZ, Xen and KVM boxes (Prometeus), LowEnd OpenVZ, Xen and KVM boxes (Iperweb), OVerZold OpenVZ boxes and now also High Availability per-by-the-hour KVM machines with iwStack! And I didn’t even mention their storage offers! Salvatore is now looking at expanding to the US, where he would eventually like to deploy iwStack. Right now, it’s OpenVZ and Xen there. With the real Italian quality Prometeus has always been able to provide now being available in the US, you would be crazy not to give this a shot!

Like I said before, this is the first time for INIZ in the top 3, so once again: hats off to them! INIZ started as StormVZ with regular and High RAM VPS offerings, but later centered their offerings around regular OpenVZ VPS, SSD OpenVZ VPS and KVM VPS. INIZ is also a global player in this market, with servers being available in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, New York City (!), NY, USA and Los Angeles, CA, USA! Patrick made us a nice special above, so if you need a box with a load of RAM and plenty of disk space, get one from INIZ!

The number four and five for this poll are: BuyVM (4th) and Digital Ocean (5th), congratulations to them as well!

Thank you all once again for voting and being part of this amazing community! The full list will be posted within one to two weeks.

Maybe they will be back next quarter, you know after their annual end-of-year promotion event. :P

The only reason that hostigation not in the list just because they haven’t sent any promotions over the past year!

I’ve been with them since last christmas and love hostigation so much. It is stable and fast, I just need to focus on my website and never worry about the server issues.

Yeah Hostigation is my #1 for sure. RamHost #2 (not to be confused with RamNode). I have a third I’ve been with for most of this year but I don’t use it so don’t know how reliable it is. :p

Congrats to the providers who made top 3 this time. I have yet to bite on RamNode and missed out on their 42%, I’ll keep my eyes out for a similar promotion.

  14. Congratulations Nick! #1 again. God knows he works hard enough. RamNode – fast for fast’s sake!

It would have been nice to see BuyVM in the top 3. Hopefully after they finish their upgrades and NY migration they’ll be up on the podium again.

The 38% off Ramnode coupon is the second highest I’ve seen. I need an excuse to buy another pure-SSD vps now that the storage space is doubled!

Thank you to everyone who clicked my name and used my affiliate link to grab a RamNode :)

  17. Looks like the links for our offer are pointing to the old SVZ plans. I bet they’ll update them tomorrow, but you guys can just order directly off the website with that coupon code for now.

      Is the coupon code lifetime?
i.e. I choose to pay monthly/yearly, will I need to pay the regular price the next payment period (next month/year) or just to pay the discounted price forever?

    I used few providers,
Last time when you published results i took a server with RamNode.

They get all credits from me. Fast and well priced.

The only problem with them is that i forgot that I have the server, simply because it never have problems.

I used RamNode for 3 months. Unfortunately 3-4 times get Connection Timeout (last time the Timeout was more than hour). When asked why, RamNode replied that it is because of DDoS attacks and they can do nothing. My website is about accounting and legal services. No stolen content etc. On other hostings see no such attacks.
Otherwise RamNode would be good hosting (servers almost all time was up). But because of these DDoS attacks. May be someone can advice? Now trying BuyVM as they offers some protection against DDoS attacks. But website is down for 9 hours, can not login through ssh…. something crazy. Is it depends on amount of money I pay? If would pay more money, would get better quality?

    • Why are you repeating the same misinformation here as on WHT? You were never told “there is nothing we can do.”

  28. andris:

I posted here before, but comment did not appear. As I wanted to get advices, I posted in WHT. At the moment situation seems clear, sorry for inconvenience. But, hope you understand my situation as hosting user (as hosting user needed website accessible). Now situation is clear.

    I bought a VPS server http://openvz.io, login URL: https://cp.iniz.com,
After a few hours blocked me. Apparently high CPU.
The first time someone has blocked me.
    This is sick.
Use a lot of VPS servers, but they just blocked me.
    It’s not cool.
Do you think on them. You can not do business with them.
    Block and the end.

    Would not recommend, Prometeus.net / IperWeb.com / OverZold.com

Closed my account and would not even allow me
to BackUp my account after more than 2-Years of
paying them with punctuality on time ever time !

When I mention that I would post to LowEndBox.com
about it is when they terminated my account from suspended
to terminated, very NAZI-Like / GOD-Like attitude, STAY AWAY !
