Here is one special November offer sent to me by Anthony at InceptionHosting. Use promo code leblitenov to buy their “lite” plan for €4.25/month (~USD$5.76) with some extra disk space and bandwidth bundled. Direct signup link here, and this is what you will get:
- 256MB memory/512MB swap
- 30GB storage
- 800GB/month data transfer on 1Gbps
- 8x vCPU cores
- Xen/SolusVM
Do note that the “lite” plan comes with only 15GB storage and 300GB/month data on their plan page, but they will be provisioned with 30GB storage and 800GB/month data. Moneybookers or PayPal. Servers in the Netherlands (test IPv4: 89.207.135.55, IPv6: 2a00:7b80:483:2::9a3f:95bd). Anthony also mentioned that it’s probably their last Xen PV offers, as they are now exploring KVM and VMWare solutions. Good reception from their previous deals. It has been almost 1 year since the inception of InceptionHosting (sorry, can’t resist), and Anthony is based in UK.

I picked their previous offer and here are some tests on it
The previous offer was 40 days ago approx and the VPS has been pretty stable since then
Classic I/O test
Network test
Just ordered one, provisioning is instant.
Storage was upgraded to 30GB as mentioned in the post but bandwidth still shows 300GB/month.
try rebooting the box from solusvm
Rebooting didn’t change anything for me. It’s not that I need it but…
Sorry,
All fixed, 800 GB upgrade done on all orders so far now and package changed for all new packages they will auto provision at 800GB.
Also it is 800GB outbound, inbound is free :)
Anthony.
Mine (from earlier offer) has been up 28 days, ever since I first set it up. I haven’t had time to do much with it–I hope I can still get the 15gb upgrade. But in the little fooling around I’ve done, it’s been working fine.
Hi Paul,
Sure the offer still stands, just drop a ticket in.
Anthony.
Ticket #788144 entered as low priority (there’s no hurry) and you answered in 6 minutes. Thanks, that was fast! :)
Allways a pleasure never a chore :)
96mb latest review: http://www.96mb.com/96mb-low-end-vps-review-part-xxi-inception-hosting-revisited/
I have 2 VPSes (not so leb) with them and can recommend them too.
They also offer free 5GB offsite backup to all vps users, but I don’t know if they do for this offer.
Thanks Breton,
Appreciate it.
Yes the 5GB Backup space is available to all :)
Next plans are to also offer 2GB ssd based MySQL offloading too.
Anthony.
Cool, 2GB MySQL offloading :) on SSD Drives
Anthony: how can I use the 5GB backup space ?
Regards,
/Sorin
Hi Sorin,
It is set up on request I will get yours done now.
Anthony.
> they are now exploring KVM and VMWare solutions.
May I drop a suggestion for KVM and not VMWare for the future. Many agree VMWare is a dead-end product, see e.g http://it.slashdot.org/story/11/11/04/1712205/vmware-a-falling-giant
As for me, I avoid all VMWare offers in principle, because I believe in https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html and don’t want my VPSes to be powered by a proprietary tool from a greedy restrictive vendor.
Indeed, KVM is highly likely, however the Windows based VPS (When Offered) I want to keep separate from the others so ESX was being looked at.
The direct signup link is unaccessable in China. What a pity!
I have been a customer for about 4 months now and I would like to say that I love the support of InceptionHosting, very fast and clear. I have been looking for a good hosts for a while but I have found it in InceptionHosting!
Thanks Vin,
Appreciated.
So is this offer still active? The followed link now states €8,99 not €4,25
As a general question: I am an old Unix dog (SGI/Sun) and not too Linux experienced and need to host a few servers which I currently have at Rosehosting (hmm.). I setup everything myself with some surprises but not too much effort. Have some spam issues still.
My question is if I switch to inception will I be able to access the same packages, features and services?
Currently running Centos (is that the best Linux OS?) looking for stability rather than performance
need at least:
SSH
MySQL
the usual reporting like sar
iptables or whatever it takes to block certain countries from accessing the mail servers all together
web based end user money proof tools so they can manage their own stuff
Can I test a config for a day or so?
Thanks
TSH
This is definitely stable. I doubt there will be a trial offer but lets see if Anthony offers you one. I dont think there would be any issue moving from your current VPS provider to this one. Of course, this is unmanaged VPS so you would need to install and configure everything yourself.
Read my review above (second post). I took that offer 40 days ago and its uptime is almost 40days, no reboots, no issues
Hi TSH,
We have a 14 day money back gurantee so if for any reason it does not work out you will be refunded in full. no questions asked.
The only time that does not apply is if you are suspended for abuse, spam, dos, scanning etc.
Anthony.
Do you support Windows or custom iso on the vps?

Hmm strange “The promotion code you entered has been applied to your cart but no items qualify for the discount yet – please check the promotion terms”
Have just been informed there has been a ticket in about this.
My mistake I set it up for new customers only in error so it will not work if you are an exsisting customer, this has been fixed now.
Anthony.
just bought one… details are sent instantly, nice test result too
Just a quick thanks to the LEB community, there is still stock left (around 30 slots) but this has been by far the most successful advert on LEB to date.
may I suggest something? in the mail about server details, you really should put the username and password for solusvm control panel (https://vpsadmin.inceptionhosting.com). I had to look from client area to find it :(
Thanks for the feedback,
Its a fair comment however it was removed as people complained about passwords being sent by email.
So the server details email tells you to get them from the client area instead.
Lose/lose situation as we cant cater for both trains of thought :)
Anthony.
LOL wtf with the people?
At the end there is no way to make everyone happy ¬_¬
@Yomero
– group A asks provider to not do the stupid thing;
– group B asks them to do it anyway, because it’s “so much more convenient” and saves them a whole 20 seconds once.
do you REALLY want to make both groups happy in this situation, or be sad that you can’t.
why not just add an option to send it or not? that way, both group would be happy :D
I can understand about password but at least put the username for the control panel in the email :D
it’s not that i was complaining or anything, like I said it’s a suggestion; one that will make your service better :D
I Suppose the username could be present in the email, I will have a look in to that.
@rm I am sad u_u
Anybody know if they allow torrenting/seedboxing?
Wondering if these VPS’s allow the bittorrent protocol. Thanks in advance!
Another good day.
Only 2 left then all XEN nodes are officially out of stock.
Regarding torrents.. the official stance from the DC is “legal torrents are fine :)” so thats also the ‘official’ stance of inception hosting.
Anthony,
Only 1 now :) So if you want one… I would move fast.
Actually 2…
Actually make that 2.. someone just got themselves terminated for being a SPAM Lord. :)
Anthony.
Hello,
Is it allowed to use irc on your vps? Like running irssi in screen or basic eggdrop bot?
And of course I forgot.. how about your usual uptime and can we get ipv6 for free?
Hi John,
IRC is fine.
IP6 is free and available.
We had some issues with Node2 a month or so ago where is become very unstable it has been tracked down to a solusvm/soluslabs cock up with the TC bandwidth limiting causing node hangs, this issue is no longer present and apart from that 100% uptime on all other nodes.
Another slot free’d up
There is 1 available of this offer.
Anthony.
Make that 3 just free’d up some IP space.
And now only 1 :)
I/O is great :)
And that’s all folks
Officially out of stock, big thanks to the LEB community.
There will be a few more towards the end of the month (Tuesday/Wednesday) as there are a few “I Don’t need this VPS any more” cancellations waiting to go through.
If KVM works out OK (Found a few issues with the KVM+SolusVM combo so far) there will be a new KVM new years deal sent in with similar prices and resources.
As any Xen slots open up I will make a quick post here.
He he
How many did you had available at the beginning?
Hi Bob,
Well assuming everyone took the same package (this one) there would have been close to 60 available, it did not really go down that way as a few people from WHT took a mix of other packages while this offer was running which cut down the available space.
All in there have been 47 new sign ups from this offer, although its not BuyVM type numbers I am sure it certainly is a good number in just a few days.
Not sure why but there has also been allot of people signing up for the Simple 10GB, 20GB, 30GB Backup Space paid service for 10 euros p/year too over the last few days.
Anyway the KVM plans will be up soon enough I suppose, there will be an offer sent in for new years but in the mean time as it will be up by then I will see what sort of interim deal I can post here in the comments for everyone that is interested.
There has been a few emails in asking if any more will be available any time soon, this was meant to be the last Xen node but given that it may be quite a few weeks before the KVM product is ready to roll out it might just be worth while standing up 1 last Xen node.
not looking for pre sign ups or anything but if anyone that may have missed out is interested drop a comment here which will help to make the decision.
Anthony.
Quick Update there are now 4 more available.
Anthony.
And then there was 2 :)
Instant rDNS editing via control panel both for IPv4 and IPv6 is not available, correct?
Yup that is correct.
Yay, thanks!
:) no problem.
And it’s not only for IPv4 but also IPv6 – which is great. Thank you.
waiting for KVM.
pushing for KVM…lol
n_n
Indeed, to be totally honest at first glance it seemed like the way forward however in practice it is not fairing as well as hoped, still a great deal of automation missing.
The thinking now is leaning towards waiting for it to mature a bit more as a hosted offering and perhaps stick with XEN but look at other locations.
The KVM plan has gone from 95% sure to hmm maybe 70% to not looking good at all, either way though the next offer will not be the same as the last ones, location and package/price wise.
Looks like you come to the same conclusion as us upon testing then.. SolusVM and KVM interaction is poor to say the least, i could see it been a major pain management wise.
Yup from an admin perspective its fine, but indeed from a customer perspective it has the potential to be support heavy which is not a good thing for either side.
You never know SolusVM 2.3 may be the version everyone is waiting for but the amount of time people have waited already it damn well better make me a slice of toast every morning! :)
When Archipel is ready KVM becomes a dream though so perhaps like I said the timing is not quite right to make the shift.
cough *SPLA in place* cough cough *Hyper-v in trials* cough
Must…sell…stallion
Francisco
Indeed you must :) especially if you want any return before Archipel becomes ready, been playing with that and it wipes the floor with SolusVM. its almost tempting to go on to full manual provisioning.
RIP KVM Idea (for now) looking at other CP options, waiting for either this magical SolusVM 2.3 version, Stallion or Archipel to become viable first.
Anyway for now XEN PV will still be offered, and a USA based service has just been stood up :) package details here: http://inceptionhosting.com/xen-vps/
And the correct link: http://inceptionhosting.com/usa-xen-vps/
A few more slots now available on the NL location too now.
Now 6 slots available for the Netherlands location.
I’ve been with inceptionhosting for a little less than a month now, and so far I’m very pleased with the services provided. I signed up for one of the 512MB deal, and my impression so far is fast connectivity and excellent I/O. Anthony has been fast to respond the few questions i’ve had so far.
In addition, uptimerobot has reported zero downtime during my contract period. For anyone seeking stable EU hosting i would highly recommend this provider.
Thanks Johannes,
Feedback is always appreciated.
Anthony.
Few more NL slots open. :)
Hi.
Would it be possible to know what storage are used for those VPSes?
SATA? SAS 15k? RAID 1? RAID 10? No RAID?
Thanks!
Hi Bob,
Sata WD Blacks 4 x in raid 10.
Anthony.
Cool, thanks :)
Just a quick update, a bit more stock has been added the code ‘leblitenov’ has been extended until 15th Jan.
Anthony.
And another few slots open due to terminations for none payment. :)
5 slots now available on this offer.
More stock added
As this offer has well and truly passed its date the price is still valid with the coupon code until 31st Jan however the resource allocations are back to standard i.e. 15GB disk and 300GB bandwidth.
SO, in other words, price has increased :))
Nope price is still the same, and is still lower than any other 256mb (VPS lite) plan we have ever offered for the Netherlands and I think lower than any other 256mb XEN offer in the Netherlands at all :)
This offer actually expired at the end of December but due the amount of demand I opened it up for another 2 weeks, and then again for another 2 weeks, this time it is just the last few days of the month and rather than make a new code for that I just changed the package back to its default settings.
Nothing malicious, just giving a way to much for to little for too long :)
Check out the new pricing and packages on the website, now on E3-1270 nodes 256mb starting at 4 EUR p/month
Typo ….. that should have been 5 EUR :-/ sorry
Are 256mb vps any good to run a teamspeak 3 server(I like to customize my server instead of renting to providers)?
Ofert please!!
