When new provider submit offers, one of the many checks we perform is to see if their WHMCS license is valid (assuming they’re using WHMCS of course). Generally about once a month we get an offer from a provider who is using a cracked or nulled WHMCS installation.  While the WHMCS setup looks normal if you’re browsing it on their web site, there is an easy tool that WHMCS provides to validate licenses.

Regardless of the community’s feelings towards WHMCS and their business model, we do not condone using pirated versions of their software.  For as long as I’ve been reading LowEndTalk, the rules have stated:

“Using a nulled WHMCS (or other nulled billing software) grants you and your company a lifetime ban on LET.”

The same rule applies to LowEndBox.

Here’s how to verify if someone’s WHMCS is valid.

1. Visit the WHMCS license verification tool: https://www.whmcs.com/members/verifydomain.php

2. Enter the domain in question.  Note that only the top part of the domain should be entered – e.g., examplehost.com, not billing.examplehost.com.

3. Click Submit and you’ll get either one of two reports.  If the domain is valid:

If the domain is not authorized, clicking “Report it to us” will take you to a screen where you can fill out a piracy report.
