Update: RobertHost have rebranded to ServerCrate.
Robert, from RobertHost, sent in this LowEnd plan a short time ago for LowEndBox readers.
256MB LEB Special

This is Washington based RobertHost’s first offer on LowEndBox and it happens to be an exclusive one. RobertHost were founded by Robert, who’s had a “love for VPS hosting and Linux” his entire life, in November 2012 to provide “High quality SSD VPS hosting on a fantastic network”. They’re using Supermicro servers with the Intel E3-1230v2 CPU along with multiple Samsung 840 SSD drives in a RAID 10 configuration. As they’re a new host, I couldn’t find any reviews or much information on them, so I’d be grateful if clients could share their experience with us below.
Robert is very active on LowEndTalk and has posted a few offers by the looks of it. They support a variety of popular Linux OSs, including: CentOS, Ubuntu, and Fedora. Paypal is the sole payment method at present. Refunds are offered at their own discretion. Additional IPv4 addresses are billed at $1 per month. Torrents, Tor exits or anything which is illegal (in USA) is not allowed. VPN’s, on the other hand, are allowed. For more information, please review their Terms of Service.
Network Information:
Servers are located at the CoreXchange datacenter in Dallas, Texas.
Test IPv4: 192.119.145.8

As he said, that is Robert there, he is just a child. I’m pretty sure its illegal for a child to be even doing hosting. Now, I’m not one to judge, just remember to all future clients that there could be some issues with him as he is only a kid.
Just my two cents.
Thanks for your comment Curtis. I’ve had a number of interest regarding age, and can confirm that everything is 100% legal, as everything is managed by someone of “legal” business age.
If you have any other questions, do let me know.
Okay, just to get this clear: I have no issue with you and I don’t want no conflict. It was just a simple comment, so don’t take it personal or anything.
We have to remember Mark Zuckerberg was a child when he launched Facebook (and I could list a whole list of people). In my opinion, as long as the host does a professional job and provides a decent service… I don’t mind if it’s a he/she or a adult/child. We have to realize that in today’s world people are using tech at a much younger age. I wish you the best, RobertHost.
Mark Zuckerberg is born at 14 May 1984 and launched Facebook at 4 February 2004. He was 19 during the launch and thus an adult, not a child or teen.
You get what I mean (my history has never been good). My point is don’t judge someone just on their age, it’s like choosing a book because of a nice picture on the cover. Anyway I’ve said my 2 cents now, good luck Robert.
Thanks cuboid.
Exactly, nobody should be judged on their age but on their deeds.
No I don’t. I don’t think you even understood what you said.
The issue is that you can’t be legally accountable for anything under 18. Sure, his parents are.. but is the host even registered as a business entity?
Nice website dude!
Thanks Roel.
good speed to mexico!!! how much is extra bandwidth?
Extra bandwidth is $5/TB, I’m glad you’re pleased with the network speeds :)
Thanks! I’m personally really proud of the site.
We are currently using a 16gb VPS from rob,
He’s doing a great job of providing us with great speeds and hosting services,
I’m glad we chose him.

Why don’t you allow tor exits? They are legal in the USA. Your terms of service say you support free speech. How about the right to privacy? I’m not trying to start trouble, I simply want to understand. I’ve been looking for a LEB lately to host a tor relay as a way of giving back to the community, and while looking I’ve seen several hosts that ban tor relays. Is it simply that tor relays use a lot of bandwidth, or perhaps is there some more insidious reason? I realize you’re free to run your business however you want as I am free to look elsewhere for a host. Still I wonder if you could shed some light on this.
Probably, because they don’t like child porn hosters like yourself.
That is an ignorant and hateful thing to say.
At the same time, you never denied it.
Way to go Robert! I’m 17 myself, so I think it’s great that you’re in to the hosting business at such a young age. How much for extra IPv6, say 128 total (additional 96)?
Great question! We’d be happy to include those extra IPv6 addresses free of charge, simply open a support ticket upon completion of your order.
I love IPv6. Addresses handed out like free candy, good times.
Your website looks good Robert! I’m proud to see a professional and young inspiring entrepreneur! You will go far in life.
I like your website, including the slider and such. Also nice to see it is over https. Your SolusVM link however defaults to http.
Good luck with the bussiness, and make sure you don’t end up in the dead pool!

A word of warning: I would be cautious when dealing with RobertHost.
The owner, Robert Clarke, has shady business practices. For example, to promote himself, he posted images he did not own on Reddit’s r/serverporn subreddit. Here’s a link:
http://www.reddit.com/r/ServerPorn/comments/16wxw3/a_newly_completed_rack_of_servers_at_roberthost/
These servers do NOT belong to Robert, and belong to Chris at AvanteHosting.
If the information true then I’d personally delete such a host off this page. Don’t see any need to promote liers
Ouch!
Thanks for your comment. Yes, those are servers owned by Chris, merely the ones we host on. While I personally don’t see that as a huge problem, as Chris gave me his explicit permission to put up the picture, and it was taken specifically for RobertHost.
Why was the picture removed from your website?
It was removed because of our redesign, thus it the URL broke a while ago, I can put it back up for you if you wish.
Is every server in that rack yours?
“those are servers owned by Chris”
No, none are his. He just rents them.
I mean are they all ones that he rents? Or is he calling the entire rack a full RobertHost rack when it has non-RobertHost servers in it? Lots of ambiguity here.
In can be interpreted in whichever way you see fit, it’s a post on Reddit with a picture of some servers.
That’s the problem though, isn’t it? It’s not just a post with a picture of servers–it’s an intentional marketing endeavor as indicated by the title of your post. You intended it to sound like you have a rack full of your own servers, but now it sounds more like only some of those are your servers that you rented from another company. I doubt any potential customers want to be told “It’s up to you to figure out what I meant,” but rather, “Yes, these are all my servers,” or “No, only some are my servers.” I’m sure you can see why a picture of an Avante rack should not be called “a newly completed rack of servers at RobertHost” unless those are actually all yours. I’m not trying to be harsh or put you down–just trying to help you see that this kind of strategy will hurt your business more than helping it.
Thank you for the advice.
As I said on the lowendtalk page, congrats on your past achievements and I hope you do well with this endeavour!
Best,
Liam.
OMG LOL I had a feeling Robert was somehow connected with the Avante kid. One time I posted my opinion about the Avante kid and Robert came out and defended him. Hahaha, good luck, kid!
I simply use the services Chris offers, and thus defend him when ignorant users come to bash him.
“I simply use the services Chris offers, and thus defend him when ignorant users come to bash him.”
There are several dozen documented cases of “the Avante kid” not providing customers with the service they paid for, VPSs being down for weeks, customers’ support and refund requests being ignored for weeks, and the customers having to fight for weeks to get refunds. The Avante customers who criticized Avante for not providing them with the service they paid for and not issuing refunds in a timely manner were not ignorant for “bashing” their hosting providers shady business practices. Defending shady business practices however does displace an ignorance of the importance of conducting business in an ethical manner.
the epic Avante saga thread: http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/5271/avante-hosting/p1
Yeah. my VPS down again.
Sucks.
We responded to your ticket regarding this.
Got one of the 1GB servers a couple of days ago – it was online for about 20 hours then just vanished. It’s been offline for over 9 hours now and no response from support.
Sorry about this, it was due to the misconfiguration of a subnet by one of our administrators, we responded to your ticket regarding this.
I experienced the same thing, and get a ticket a reply that does not explain anything. I’ve been waiting all day, now vps is back alive, but I was disappointed that there was no explanation of the problem.
We’ll be sending you an explanation soon, via support ticket.
thank you, but why in the previous reply, you say as if there was no problem with the VPS. you just asked “where were you pinging from? ‘
whether you want to cover up? ,
I think the consumer is entitled to know about the problem.
I can understand for any problems that occur, but I can not forgive a bit of a lie.
