ElectricByte has been around a while providing Minecraft hosting and have recently expanded into the VPS market. They get their servers from ColoCrossing and this offer is located in San Jose, CA, USA. As with all fairly new hosts, be sure to share your experiences with them here or over at LowEndTalk. All of ElectricByte’s servers have E3 CPUs, DDR3 RAM and SAS hard drives in RAID10.
ElectricByte accepts payments via PayPal or offline payments. Everything is allowed except BitTorrent, TOR, Digital Currency Mining and illegal activity. Unlike many other VPS hosts, Electricbyte allows game servers! Eric even quoted MitGib from LET in his ticket, saying they also have a “don’t be a d*ck”-policy! An uptime of 99.9% is guaranteed.

Man that picture alignment is not good for my OCD.
Whoops. The CSS class I set on it disappeared, apparently. Fixed now!
Only 15GB harkdisk?What a joke.
Posting stuff like this someone’s offer, what a joke!
ElectricByte uses SAS RAID10 storage while other hosts use regular SATA drives (which are not ideal for disk I/O in VPS environments)
ElectricByte provides excellent performance with SAS drives.
We’d be happy to combine two (or multiple) plans for you.
In China the download speed is very good, a little disk space, overall still very good!
Fix the image alignment :)
Hi, I would like to know what is the cost to add additional IPs and bandwidth?
Hello,
IPs are billed at $1.49/month each.
Bandwidth is $3.50/month per TB
How about the CPU Cores?
Both plans include access to 4 cores :-)
Hi.
it seems to be cheapest offer there
how much cpu core per vps?
regards
4 Cores!
well, i think it worth to try
thanks for the update
umm how much is the avg I/O?
16384+0 records in
16384+0 records out

208 MB/s
I’ve had a ticket open for quite some time (2 weeks?) regarding this with no solution as yet.
My host started out at a nice 200+ i/o, which quickly dropped to sub -30mb/s (25 average).
I raised a ticket, where they said they would look into it. It quickly jumped back up to 180 mb/s but that lasted a few hours before it was back down to under 30 again. No additional response or support has been supplied from the ticket, which is now listed as “On Hold” despite me replying to it last week.

This was already resolved a while ago, but it looks like your support ticket wasn’t updated as one of our technicians set it to “On Hold” but forgot to update you after fixing the issue at hand.
You should be all set now. Thanks!
Eric, thanks for the reply but I’m not “all set.”
I followed with a reply to the ticket showing that I’m still getting poor machine performance. As you can see from the I/O test I included in my reply above.
The bad thing is there is no windows
Hi,
How does the “don’t be a d*ck-policy” translate into numbers? How much continuous CPU usage would be acceptable to you?
thanks
We do not allow you to utilize a full CPU core continuously, but you will have access to 4 CPU cores to temporarily burst.
We also do not allow CPU virtual currency mining, and the like.
electricbyte.com is down. I can’t access my solusvm panel.
What percent of one core can I use continuously? 50%, 25%, 10%, 5%, 1%?
Tickets take a ridiculously long time to respond. Not getting 1Gbps uplink.
Want to cancel and get refund… Ticket is pending.
I am using 2gb memory plan since last 1 month. Very happy with the server performance.
Also the best part is support. Very quick resp once from the support team.
I have requirement for additional server and now after 1 month of usage I am thinking to purchase additional server from this provider only.
The only bed part is 15 GB disk space. Apart from that every thing is good.
The worst support service ever. Tickets don’t have any response for 2 days. 1Gbps uplink advertised in the 2gb vps plan is a actually 100mbps uplink.
The ElectricByte website isn’t even up anymore? At least it’s not accessible from my IP?
Same issue as posted above (Paul) regarding support ticket responses. While the VPS is still up and runs fairly well, the hostname keeps getting reset on reboot. They were supposed to look into this, but now I can’t even login to the client area to see if my ticket was finally responded to (over a week since I submitted it).
Can someone confirm if the website is at least accessible, and if there is a problem on my end accessing it?
It’s been down for me. I can still ssh in to my server at least…
Looks like the website is back up.
Electricbyte’s main web site and solusvm panel site has been down the last two days.
I have had a ticket opened for over a week (my instance is not able to access any internet site i.e. google.com). There has been little to no status on what I would assume to be an easy fix as my other instance is working fine. I keep opening new tickets to at least get status, but now those are just getting closed. I am not sure I would recommend this provider. They did go out of there way to handle another request so I am giving them a little more time before I just give up.
Unable to get a hold of anyone there- company seems to no longer be around. Filed a dispute with PayPal.
Anyone else considering them- just avoid.
Were you able to get a chargeback?
Yes, I made a dispute within PayPal- they refunded me the money the next day. No message in reply as to why, just a refund.
My VPS has been down over five days now. The only response I have received so far was for the IP address for the VPS that is down (which I had already included when I opened a ticket).
Still down….
Still down…
Looks like they don’t offer services after you pay for them, or is it just that they are out on vacation?
remove please. dead.
