      Hello
All my VPSes purchased from 123Systems are down for more than one year.
I purchased the same from another vendor to continue services to my clients.

I raised the Ticket ID: 947685 on July 09, 2013.
I have reminded the 123Systems many times and got a reply that they are working on the issue.
After one year I did not get my VPSes up and running.
All my money paid to 123systems for these VPS appears to go in vain.
I lost the money paid to 123Systems and I could not get the services.
They promised a $5 credit to the VPS while re-numbering of IP Addresses.
I did not get the credit and after renumbering nor I get new IP addresses.

This is first delay and then deny the service from 123systems.

I think the reliability of the 123 Systems is decreasing sharply.
Although their servers go down frequently but now the management ignores the complaints also.
This is very frustrating to continue the services from the 123Systems.

123Systems take weeks to update rDNS, SolusVM is always down for hours a day and they don’t respond to any tickets/PayPal disputes to discuss their appalling service at all.

Disk I/O is also something like a yo-yo, dramatically up and down.

I don’t want anything sorting now anyway. I wan’t a refund, this has been ongoing for several weeks now and I’ve already found a better provider to host what I needed hosting. I was told that Solus would be fixed but as of yesterday was still going down for extended periods of time.

PayPal dispute has been open for almost 3 weeks now and has now been escalated to PayPal for review.

I’ve used 123 for about 4 months and have to agree with Othniel. Some of my services would crash on a weekly basis for no reason. My e-mail server which works quite well on other VPSs would be down typically for 24-48 hours each week. Support tickets are generally not answered in a prompt or professional manner, by that I was expecting at least an acknowledgement within 48 hours of posting.

Anyway it’s way too frustrating to grovel to have them check out, let alone fix errors in their system and I’ve moved on to another VPS for about the same price which has been flawless so far. 123 would be fine for running a testbed but if you need your mail to stay running look elsewhere. Good luck.

I’m a long time 123Systems customer (about 3 years if I’m not mistaken). Still am. If you need a VPS to play around, you can get a cheap yearly VPS from them. I won’t host anything remotely valuable on their servers. Not so much for their unreliability but for terrible customer support.

Several factors can prevent automated setup. If the hostname is shorter than 4 characters it will not setup automatically, if you use an email or a space in the hostname, it will not setup automatically. If the password string you choose is rejected by SolusVM after their security updates then it will not be setup automatically.

      Hope this helps.

In fact the entire 23.94.0.0/15 (that’s 131,000 blacklisted ColoCrossing IP addresses) is blacklisted by Spamhaus. This fact should probably be disclosed in the offer instead of people having to find out after they’ve paid that all of those Chicago 23.94.x.x IPs are dirty.

    **WORST SUPPORT EVER***

contacted them via support about there “Linux-4GB-OVZ” vps and was super fast as replying and very polite.. got up and running in no time and got a nice discount but then once payment was sent and i got the server the problems started

my server was down almost all the time.. you can check the uptime here: https://share.pingdom.com/banners/ba6c3450 as you can see it’s at 26% which is a joke francly

the problem was that my server was shutting itself down randomly and the control panel wouldn’t alow me to boot it back online… i’d open a support ticket and they’d ignore me until it came back up many hours later and simply say “This VPS is not offline.” and 20mins later it’d go down again and the pattern would repeat

anyway after many tickets which all got mostly ignored i asked for a refund and after again many tickets and replies i finally got a response from them “Payment refunded, service cancelled.”

so is short they terminated my server with no prior notification AND lied about the refund.. they are once again ignoring any and all posts/tickets and have basically stolen my $30

these guys are really the worst support i’ve ever dealt with and i’ve been in the hosting biz since ’98

My few cents regaring 123systems vps. I bought their service for one year and I truly regret doing so. Their service quality is horrible. Their system is down very frequently and they ignore it and claim it is not true. They promise that their service is up 99.9% of the time, but the fact is that their system do not meet this promised uptime rate. To be precise, they are far from that uptime target rate. If you request to cancel your service or to transfer your account to some other poor desperate soul and they want to charge you or not return you 5 dollars which they claim is the cost of handling creating accounts. To prove how frequently their service goes down, I created few custom scripts and have the run automatically every minute on the server to keep track of downtimes. Here are my results regarding their downtimes (and this is barely one day):

    http://vps123systems.zapto.org:8080/uptime/downtime.log

And in case anyone wants to see the code I use behind the scenes to perform this downtime log, here are my script codes:

    http://vps123systems.zapto.org:8080/uptime/

P.S. I bought a VPS service from other three good companies (published here @ lowendbox.com) and have these same scripts on their servers and my downtime log is empty. And regarding the system downtime of about one hour, I had nothing to do with it. I never issued a shutdown command nor the reboot command, yet, the VPS server from 123systems was down for about an hour without my concent.

    Regards

We are currently conducting a thorough review of all aspects of 123Systems and intend on immediately implementing numerous changes to improve service quality. No aspect of your current service at 123Systems will change, as we will be operating it as a separate division, but with the advantage of our buying power and 24/7 support department. Please continue logging into your customer management system and paying for your services as normal to the existing PayPal account at this time.

We are acutely aware that the services provided by 123Systems over the past year have not been adequate. We want to work with you personally to resolve any outstanding issues and rebuild your trust in 123Systems. I invite you to submit a ticket or email me directly (chris@chicagovps.net) and I will work with you directly.

To celebrate our acquisition use coupon “NEWERA” for 60% off everything. Order here: https://123systems.net/billing/cart.php

@ChuckHL, should have read the other comments first, it’s same situation 2 years later, it will never, ever get better with the amount of ovecrapping they do.

I wish it too …. Sadly i bought the service the day after it was published this article so there were not that many comments. It is just that i got fed up of them this week and posted my complains here.

Not even 1 day and there is another downtime of 1 hour. If it remains like that their uptime rate would be 94% roughly. Not 99.9% like they claim.

  29. I ordered my server last night that is 14 hours before posting this comment.
It took nearly 3 hours for them to send my server details.
And you know what the amazing thing is? The server is not working ever since.
First they tell me the node is not working and should work in 15 mins.
They have the worst of the services. DO NOT BUY!
Their cheap prices are only to fool, they do not provide any kind of service.

It’s not good kinda service. Every 5/10 minutes the VPS goes slow and rent down connection. Dont buy it! They dont give your money back if you are not satisfied with the service. I openend the ticket telling that VPS going very slowness and unstable and they just asnwered think like that:

“This is a system notification to inform you that our technician team is aware of the outage on the node you are currently located on and should have service restored within the next 15-30 minutes. ”

And it’s still keep going slow every 10/15 minutes. Terrible service and they wont give ur money back!

Wanted to add my two pence to the vox populi. Bought a VPC from them, launched it instantly – no problems there, it has been working fine for nearly a week, but since four days ago network link to the server went into some sort of limbo. It is neither dead nor alive – 40% packet loss and all the joys of the universe caused by that. Tech support just closed the ticket after I opened it – didn’t event bother to send me a sort of standard copypasted reply. Trying to get my money back now…

  32. I had one VPS from them that is actually quite stable and has been for a long time (99.95% uptime). I decided to add two more….VERY unstable with 97.48% uptime and 97.42% uptime. During SSH they will become unresponsive then drop their connections. I wish I hadn’t bought the second two.

  33. Just looked through my logs. The longest period of uninterrupted uptime for one of my VPSs in June was 108 hours :(

  34. Hello,

First and foremost, I would like to apologize for the issues that everyone has been experiencing with our OpenVZ service as of late. We have been working hard to get service returned to normal after our recent `mass` kernel upgrades which really did not take well on some of our legacy nodes.

For the most part we have repaired service on almost all affected nodes and the are only 3 nodes that continue to experience problems after these upgrades. We understand your frustration and that you paid for a service and currently if you are situated on these nodes, you are not getting what you have paid for and we do apologize for this.

We understand that these upgrades were not our client’s fault and we take full responsibility for the outages and we are working diligently to make this right. For anyone who has experienced severe issues as of late, we are offering extended compensation for this issue.

Please open a compensation ticket and reply to this specific post with your ticket ID so I can apply the proper compensation to your account/service.

Again, we do apologize for the issues as of late and we can assure you that it is being working on and we will have everything running in tip top shape very soon.

    Thanks.

    • Can you list the nodes which are not currently working properly?
Because i was recently shifted from some node to other and that is equally bad.

Same, I bought a while ago and noticed right away that the network and IO was horrible so I made a ticket asking if I could be moved to another node the ticket wasn’t closed, it was actually removed with little to no trace.. Same with my other ticket a few months ago about the downtime.

  38. The dog days of summer are officially here and that means it’s time for our first annual summer update. This email is different than the ones you’ve received from us in the past – which were sales-centric, a cheap ploy, we admit. Over the past two months we’ve conducted a review of our internal policies and operational processes and we’re very busy making big changes. Keep reading for our big news and discount opportunities:

    1. Vastly improved support. Effective two weeks ago we added three support technicians to our team which now allows us to offer true 24 hour support. No longer will our customers feel like a generic number forced to interact with apparently careless customer service.

    2. Accountability. At any time you can request that your support request be escalated and management will quickly intervene. Your business is valued and we will make sure you feel that way.

    3. Lower Server Loads. Effective immediately we have begun provisioning nodes without slabbing technology and with 40% fewer customers. We have additional nodes on the way to load shed existing servers and over the next 4 weeks customers will see a dramatic improvement in performance and reliability. These improvements will not cause any interruption to your services and your IPs will not change.

    4. Better Uptime. Lower load and the end of slabbing, along with fixing the issues that occurred due to the recent OpenVZ update will all mean a much more reliable customer experience.

    5. Pricing. Our same attractive pricing model will stay intact for all current customers. Absolutely no increases will occur for existing clients. There will be a modest upward tweaks on certain packages for new orders and those increases will help cover the costs incurred with our overall improvement efforts. We’re confident that new customers will believe an extra few dollars per year will be worth a better service; and current customers get that improvement free! Just like it should be.

In the past our boring sales emails would include massive discounts to compel customers to signup. Given our mission to improve, and the changes we’ve already made, we’re now proving more reasonable incentives. Signup for any package with coupon “save25” and you’ll save 25% for life.

    • It’s pretty amazing 123systems that you’re able to take the time to spam new offers on 4 different posts here but you don’t have the time to answer support tickets from the many customers who have complained both on LET and WHT about services being down for days, nodes that don’t work, or and you ripping them off you scammer.

Just few days before I bought OpenVZ VPS for one year period, But unfortunately the VPS always got crushed and neither able to handle it from SolusVM nor connect via ssh also its IP (172.245.62.42) blocked listed by hotmail.com previously it seems used as spam IP.
I am sorry The response time to the tickets are very slow. So I have no choice just to write to lowendbox.

I am asking the owners of 123Systems if they can amend this problem by changing my node to KVM (1024MB RAM, 4 CPU cores, 2TB traffic and 20GB SSD) which is the same as I paid for OpenVZ (2048MB RAM, 4CPU cores, 3TB traffic and 35GB Disk) even though it has lower qualification than OpenVZ, but it is acceptable for me?

I filled a ticket about this issue, but unfortunately got no response
