LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

Inception Hosting - €4.95/month 1GB XenHVM in the UK, €7.50/year for 3 VPS, and more offers

inceptionhosting_Quality_Hosting_Provider_-_2014-05-30_09.33.35Anthony, from InceptionHosting, has sent in several offers to us, two of which are exclusive to LowEndBox. These offers are spread across the US and Europe, large and small, so there should be something in here for everybody! We haven’t featured Inception Hosting since August 2013. A lot of changes took place since then; the introduction of XenHVM offers, LowEndSpirit has expanded into more locations, and they got a new website. XenHVM offers allow you to do basically the same with your VPS as with KVM, it’s just powered by the almighty Xen. LowEndSpirit is an initiative by Anthony to create original LowEndBoxes for just 3EUR/year with several IPv6 addresses and with 20 ports on a shared IPv4 address. It’s been quite popular to this day and I’m sure people will find the LowEndSpirit Bundle we feature today will interest many! Inception Hosting has been doing business since early 2011 and it is a registered company in the United Kingdom. Inbound traffic in Phoenix is unmetered and hardware configurations differ per location. Reviews of Inception Hosting have been very positive, and I can personally attest to that. Please share your experiences with us in the comments!

LowEndSpirit Bundle

Here’s some information straight from Anthony’s expert fingers about the LowEndSpirit Bundle:

What is NAT IPv4?
NAT IPv4 was chosen so those who do not have access to IPv6 or do not want to set up a tunnel can still enjoy low end spirit, the nodes have a limited amount of external IPv4 addresses assigned usually only 1 or 2 per node, the external addresses forward 20 ports to your VPS so you can connect over IPv4 as well.

This product comes with no direct support, it is not considered commercial and is more of a community project funded by Inception Hosting, further information available at: http://lowendspirit.com/

In brief what you can and can’t do on a LowEndSpirit VPS

Few examples of what you can do:

  • Host a website on port 80 (haproxy running on the node to forward domain based requests to your VPS)
  • VPN
  • Proxy (private, protected)
  • IRC client/server
  • Teamspeak server
  • Anything you want with native IPv6

Few examples of what you can not do:

  • Tor (of any kind)
  • Open Proxy
  • Mail server/client
  • SSL based websites
  • Torrent clients

With this bundle you get three machines, each in a separate location:

Dallas, TX, USA

  • 256MB RAM
  • 3GB disk space
  • SSD-cached disk space
  • 350GB bandwidth
  • 100Mbps uplink
  • 20x NAT IPv4
  • 5x IPv6 address
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM
Rotterdam, The Netherlands

  • 128MB RAM
  • 2GB disk space
  • 500GB bandwidth
  • 100Mbps uplink
  • 20x NAT IPv4
  • 5x IPv6 address
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM
Newcastle, United Kingdom

  • 128MB RAM
  • 3GB disk space

The LowEndSpirit Bundle is linking to the wrong plan.. seems to take you to the “OpenVZ MiniVPS – MiniVPS128 – NETHERLANDS”

    May 31, 2014 @ 1:21 am | Reply
    • No, it’s fine. You need to click the checkout button one time for each VPS :)

    • yep you just go through it one at a time, not the most intuitive way of doing things I know but it works :)

I will try to remain as active as possible on the offer post for the first 30 days as I expect a bit of confusion on the lowendspirit side :)

please keep in mind lowendspirit is not open to the refund policy but that os made clear pre purchase.

    thanks again.

  8. SSL based websites ???? :O

    May 31, 2014 @ 5:59 am | Reply
    • You can host SSL based websites on any of the Xen packages, but not on lowendspirit as it is a shared external IPv4.

      May 31, 2014 @ 6:14 am | Reply
      • rm:

Well you can, but those SSL-based websites will also have to be IPv6-only websites :)

want to ask you whether i can use this tho as a remote desktop pc which can be used to browse blocked websites?

    May 31, 2014 @ 10:15 am | Reply
    • I cant see why not, you have a few options depending on how the blocking is being done, you could simply use a web browser inside a windows VPS via RDP or you could setup a VPN on any of the packages offered.

      May 31, 2014 @ 4:44 pm | Reply
      • Maounique:

RDP works with linux too, for example, I use this with debian: apt-get install xfce4 iceweasel mc xrdp (add other things if you wish like flash-plugin-nonfree, openjdk-7-jre, chromium, whatever). For extra security you can run it over SSH.

Acceptable ping from the EU and been really stable since I installed it.
Also have the LES package on all four locations and am really happy with it.

Uhm, I had no idea how to connect to VPS via IPv6 as Putty won’t. I’m dirty newbie of IPv6. ;-)

        • ah, should have popped on to the forum it would have taken a few minutes to give you the info on how to connect over IPv4, if you still have it pop a ticket in I will make an exception, if you dont pop a ticket in I will give you another at no cost and help you get it set up.

Anthony, i need to ask. In terms for LowEndSpirit VPS “what you can not do” is no restriction for service which use 100% cpu: Would I will be banned if I use such service and what would happen if I limit CPU use let’s say on 75% and use nice 20 on process?

    June 1, 2014 @ 5:18 pm | Reply
    • LES is not intended for any kind of CPU intensive task.

0.75 sustained load is not aceptable. If you need that kind of usage, pay for a commercial package.

      June 2, 2014 @ 2:43 am | Reply
    • yeah you would really be better off using one of the commercial xen packages for sustained cpu time.

      Anthony.

I have yet to sign up for the LES forums or anything. I’ve got a LES box in all four locations (Italy isn’t listed on this offer) and I can’t seem to connect via IPv6 on the UK one. I’ve only tested it on the UK one, mind you. Is this normal? Is IRC over IPv6 blocked? I just get permission errors.

Also, assuming the Debian wheezy images haven’t been updated recently, you’ll need to run:

    `cd /var/lib/dpkg/info
    for x in libustr-1.0-1.* libuuid1.* libpam0g.* libsepol1.* libpam-modules.* libsemanage1.* libslang2.* libblkid1.* liblzma5.* libdb5.1.* libbz2-1.0.* libtinfo5.* libselinux1.* libc6.* ; do mv -v $x $(echo $x | sed -r ‘s/\.([^.]+)$/:i386.\1/’) ; done`

    For apt* to work.

Horrible site, wanted to stop subscription at end of billing cycle in 12 months, but because of sites horrible design accidentally clicked to close account right away. Site had said to send ticket right away if such thing occurs which i did, sent ticket to billing category. After 12 hours received email that my account is closed because I didn’t send ticket to right department, without specifying which is correct department. 10/10
