LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

QuickWeb - $5.60 Xen VPS with 128MB

QuickWeb Via this WHT offer. QuickWeb, an advertiser here at LowEndBox and a New Zealand based VPS provider, has some new Xen VPS plans. And with special coupon code XEN50 you can get the XEN Lite for $5.60/month. Well, it says $4.975 on the offer page but it turns out that you have to pay 12.5% GST even if you are not a New Zealand resident. Anyway, you get

  • 128MB memory/256MB swap
  • 5GB storage
  • Unmetered data transfer
  • Xen

Servers are in San Jose CA. No idea about the bandwidth for its “unmetered data transfer”. Unmetered for 1Mbps or 10Mbps connection?!

  1. The copy says:

    – Bandwidth allocation is 1TB with no overages
    – Host Node has Dedicated Port speed: 10/100 MBPS out/in

The copy also says that GST will be removed for non NZ orders. There was an update button once you added in your location and, since I’m here in the US, the GST was removed. Maybe you missed a step?

Going to give these folks a try although with a larger plan. I do hope these folks know what a coffee shop is, unlike the previous VPS provider I looked at.

  3. Joe Merit:

I signed up for Xen Lite and was provisioned in 30 minutes. If you register on the site
as being outside of NZ you do get the GST taken off and the 4.97 price or whatever it is.

    so far so good.

  4. I see. I must have given up on the last step because I did not intend to acquire a VPS at this stage. Well, the form did assume that everyone purchasing the plan must be a Kiwi, until you declare yourself not one at the later stage.

  5. Hello Guys,

Thanks for nice feedbacks about our Xen VPS, yes apparently WHMCS won’t remove GST until you entered your residence address and it won’t look wether your IP is from overseas.

Our 50% off for life promo will last till year-end (or while stocks last) afterwards regular promo is 50% off only apply for first month invoice… so if one is planing on getting a Xen VPS, now is the good time otherwise you’ll missout!

Merry X’Mas and Happy New Year to all lowendboxers :)

By the way even it is holiday season we will try our best to provision all VPS orders as soon as possible, we have provisioned heaps of VPS last X’mas!

    Cheers,
    Joe S.

  7. Hi Phil,

I have disbanded some resources allocated to a 1GB Plan we are selling and added it to out of stock lowendbox VPS :) you should be able to place order now, very limited slots are left though so be quick :)

By the way we don’t have FreeBSD template available yet.

    Cheers,
    Joe S

  9. Hi Phil,

Thanks but unfortunately freeBSD is not yet supported by SolusVM which is our VPS Manager, that is the reason why we don’t have it available :(

    Cheers,

  10. looks god so far :) will have to look in to that, surely since you can run it on xen there has to be a way to get it working ;) and I’m sure you wouldn’t say no to offering it if it works, right?

  11. Yes that will come along with Windows OS support, it is currently under development at Soluslabs, once it is supported by SolusVM then we will offer it as sure there’s some demand to that :)

Please feel free to contact us directly if you have more questions or in need of help about your VPS.

  12. just a quick update in case anyone else is looking here.

so far they guys have been great for an un-managed service they have been doing there best to help out even when software goes wrong on the server.

have had a few dramas using an old gentoo template but again they have done everything they could to help with this and have.

connection speeds have been good and i have regularly been able to get to the 10mbs limit of the server

i recommend them if you are looking for a vps.

  13. Two months in now and outside of an occasional reboot and my inability to understand Perl/CGI, these folks are doing fine.
