Nick, from RamNode, is back with some offers for LowEndBox including a special credit coupon! This time we again feature some of their new plans, but many more can be found on their improved website! my blog (zhujiceping.com ) is running in Seattle location of ramnode ! perfect !
keep up the good work !
Thank you! Glad you are enjoying it.
I am so glad to see this unknown host featured at LEB because they need more recognition!
THE BEST! Got 3 nodes with them. :)
Thanks! :)
Been running with RamNode since March 2013, and still on a legacy LEB discounted plan which is equivalent to a current 512M CKVM (it’s actually a few cents more expensive due to coupon math but I’m stubborn and didn’t feel like reinstalling to get a newer plan, heh).
I’m a full-virtualization hawk; I like having full control over my system so that I don’t hit weird shared-kernel issues as with [O]VZ. The VM has run Ubuntu 12.04 since its installation, but now uses the 14.04-based HWE kernel to get access to the zram driver (compressed in-memory “swap” that is IMNSHO much less troublesome than OVZ “vSwap”), which has significantly reduced disk I/O and transformed it into a rough approximation of a 768M RAM virtual machine. On top of that, I run the free version of Ksplice for immediate kernel security updates.* Can’t do those two things with OVZ.
I couldn’t be happier; it’s stable as a stone bridge and only had three (I think?) outages due to site-level DDoS which were mitigated in less than 30 minutes according to uptimerobot.com. Not to disparage the LEB-famous Francisco — he’s a great guy — but I think Nick and the RamNode team may have hit the sweet spot between automation and human touch that really makes the service excel for us power users out there.
===
(* Full disclosure and, if you’ll permit me, minor plug: I work for the same company and division as those who maintain Ksplice, and do at times work on Ksplice itself. That said, it’s a fantastic service to help keep your system secure from kernel exploits, which is why I use it on my personal systems. I highly recommend it, since it’s free for users of current Fedora and current/LTS Ubuntu systems. See here for the free edition links, and make sure to subscribe to the corresponding OS version mail list to get notifications of relevant service updates. Of course, this only works with systems that utilize full virtualization such as KVM or Xen.)
BTW, one feature of RamNode that was added relatively recently is a HTML5, SSL-secured VNC viewer. Most virtualized VNC is either in the clear or requires a Java applet, or both. Rarely are SSL or SSH-tunneled options available, and this is extremely good when needing to boot into Grub’s menu, or even to use a fully graphical UI.
Wow, thank you very much Todd!
Can someone confirm that they give 16 public IPs…. (ipv6)?
and there are all IPs in the USA? So if I connected from a vpn I set up, I can watch hulu from outside the country..?
They give you a single IPv4 and a /64 of IPv6 addresses (18446744073709551616 IPv6 addresses) by default.
You can request more IPv4s, but you have to provide justification. I suppose you could request more IPv6s, but I don’t see how you could possibly go through that many addresses.
As per the VPN, the Seatle VPS IPs are located within the United States. Based off of the test IPs, NYC and ATL are as well.
Sorry can you say that in laymans terms? I get a fraction of an IP??
A /64 is just an amount of IPs in what’s called slash notation: http://www.ripe.net/internet-coordination/press-centre/understanding-ip-addressing
Yes, all the USA PoPs use ARIN IP range allocations from the US. If your desire is to get around geofencing and you know how to set up, e.g., OpenVPN (and IPv4 NAT), then yes, this will probably work for you.
Older RN plans provided a set of 16 static IPv6 addresses. The current plans delegate an entire /64 prefix to use as you please.
I have heard same good words about RamNode, would order one, but unfortunatelly they don’t accept BitCoins. :-(
I have been using Ramnode for a year now. They are best of the best. Its just two things you need when you are looking for a VPS provider. No downtime and awesome support and Ramnode got both of them. When it comes to DDoS protected IPv4 addresses you have that option too with Ramnode.
I got two servers from them going to order a third one soon. Keep it up Ramnode.
Thank you!
Although I always recommend Ramnode VPS in my blog.
But Chinese search engine don’t like use ramnode space website.
For example Baidu or Sogou.
I’ve been using ramnode since February of this year, and have nothing but good to say.
At this time, I have 6 VPS’ with them , in multiple locations and will keep adding, as long as they keep up the excellent work.
From a VPS that does 100s of queries a second (mysql wise) to an observium server that keeps track of 200+ servers all at once, these servers never load down, they haven’t shown a single issue in months.
Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks Tom!
The vswap is too small.
Out of all the VPS’ I’ve purchased through LEB, Ramnode is by far my favorite. I have nothing but good things to say about them.
I’ve been renting with them since March 1st and I don’t believe my server has ever been unavailable (take note bluevm, weloveservers, etc). They are, however, very communicative through twitter when anything arises.
Thank you Craig!
I sign up the Netherlands vps and install seedbox torrent but it not work at all, even deluge not work too. Their support take 2 hr to response every ticket your create. I ask for refund they refund back. This vps not for torrent somehow it doesn’t work. I have install torrent few other provider all ok.
https://clientarea.ramnode.com/tos.php
https://clientarea.ramnode.com/aup.php
They are very clear about torrents. You must read first, always!
Responding to all of your tickets in 2 hours is actually very good support. If you’re expecting consistently faster support response while paying just a few bucks a month, you need to realign your expectations with reality.
You were in violation of our AUP and opened multiple tickets about the same subject. Our AUP is very clear about torrents in the NL.
Looks like the NL node went down today.

Are you allow dns server ?
As long as you’re not running open resolvers, sure.
My experience with RamNode has been very negative.
The staff seems to think they are running the best servers in the world.
They are friends with webhostingtalk.
Whenever you post a negative review on webhostingtalk about RamNode, the moderators remove it right away.
Happened several times, to several people.
Don’t belief me? Try posting a negative (but honest) review on webhostingtalk.
It will be gone within 30 minutes.
We have no special relationship to anyone at WHT. They remove posts which do not abide by their rules. What is your ticket ID so that we can review your account?
Been using ramnode for more than a year now! Hands down best vps I’ve ever had.
Thank you!
Can I use My Own iso images?
i just buy 1024MB SKVMS plan. now waitting to receive my vps.
it take 1 hour to get my vps up. event it should not wait more than 1 hour to receive my vps but i am happy with support and fast relpy and respond to my account problem.
Do they provide extra ram and how much for extra 512mn ram for annually?
What would you guys say is the best server location or data center out of this whole list? Like what it most reliable?
After about a year with Ramnode and no issues I am happy with them and can recommend them fully for THAT prices! (NL location). I use it as a seafile server mostly.
So far so good. Really liking the 80GB storage on the super affordable 128MB CVZ deal.
Storage is definitely an edge here along with the up time.
But Seattle location seems to have a network bottleneck
