Servers in Chicago IL with Continuum. Scott and Justin seem to provide some great support there. Nice looking website. Domain has been registered since April 2010, but both NS are on the same machine. Okay, the quote on Scott’s website was from SNL, where he is actually Molecular Neuroscience student according to Facebook. So some pretty smart people looking after your server :)

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
Ipv6?
Sure do! In fact if you want IPv6 we can double the IP count at no extra charge. We generally don’t advertise IPv6 given most people tend to want to squeeze the last bit of IPv4 out of the system.
If you would like to go ahead and place an order simply open up a support ticket and we will get the IPv6 addresses allocated to your VPS inside 1-2 minutes.
The price is so high.
Under $3.00 a month for a 128MB VPS which is burstable to 256MB, on quality premium hardware, in a quality data center, over a quality network is expensive?
If you can direct me to a similar offer, from a quality provider who is reputable and able to provide support at all hours of the day on average inside 5 minutes, I will match the offer, no problem.
Just on the price, doing a $15/year search here. Although I have never used your service so I cannot compare on quality. Reputation is subjective as well.
Anyway. You shouldn’t be distracted by comments regarding to price — it’s quite good already. A lot of people here only look at the number behind the dollar sign :P
Thanks for the post, appreciate you warming up to the SNL quote finally! :)
As a side bar I wanted to make note of the costs when calculating the 6 and 12 months figures as we are in fact quite cheap when considering the fantastic service and support we offer.
Our Scoots128 package amounts to:
$3.33/month for 6 months OR $2.91/month for 12 months!
Our Scoots256 package amounts to:
$4.99/month for 6 months OR $4.16/month for 12 months!
Pretty fantastic prices when considering the product being provided (Don’t forget the burstable RAM included in all packages!). Top end VPS’ for budget prices!
Be sure to drop by our live chat or e-mail us directly if you have any questions, comments or concerns I can help you address.
Best of luck in your hosting hunt!
No proxy server?
Not exactly sure what your asking or what you mean by this, but if your asking if we allow proxy servers, yes we do. As with anything else this is of course assuming you are using it for legal ventures as defined within the boarders of the US.
Just signed up. It’s OpenVZ based. Customer service was excellent. Someone was available to chat at midnight to answer my questions and get the account set up. He enabled the tap device for me. I got the 1024 package. After trying a few other services, I am very pleased with this one. The server is FAST, not oversold at all. I downloaded a 100mb test file and got a full 10mbps with no fluctuation in the speed while downloading. Also there is ample CPU. I am one state away from the server, and I get console responsiveness on par with LAN. It’s even faster than the computer I have in a local data-center. I just hope the quality doesn’t diminish as more users are signed up.
Your the man Jacob! Glad you’ve had a great first impression.
I can promise you service, support and quality will not go anywhere where on you. Support is often available via live chat at all hours of the day, however if you cannot find someone via live chat please open a ticket and you should receive a response inside ~5 minutes.
Be sure to let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
Welcome to BigScoots! :D
They’re banned on WHT not a good sign.

Were not banned, were “disabled.” We asked to have our “BigScoots” account disabled in order to facilitate us having our own individual accounts. As CPS has mentioned, BigScoots-Scott would be me, BigScoots-Justin would be Justin.
You can also take note of our recent WHT postings if you would like.
Someone post a benchmark in LET taken from this provider, and it is impressive I have to say.
Just I wonder if they offers custom setups?
Sure do, feel free to e-mail me directly or hop on our live chat and we can work something out for you! :)
I have to say, their support are really fast and great!
xin
:D
After reviewing a number of offers on LEB and WHT, I contacted BigScoots via live chat and “spoke” with Justin. He was very helpful in answering all of my questions and followed up on our conversation via e-mail. No sales pitches or hard sell.
My partner signed up the next day for the Scoots 1024 plan, as we decided that we wanted more memory and also cPanel. The monthly price was very reasonable, much less than Liquid Web and other more well-known hosts that I looked at.
So far, our experience with BigScoots has been excellent. The server was configured within a few hours and response times to the few support requests we have had, have been super fast.
As far as server speed, it is very impressive. Coming from a shared HostGator account, it’s a night and day difference, especially for WordPress blogs. I always thought WP was just plain slow, but now Admin updates and page loads are almost immediate.
Overall, we are very pleased with BigScoots and would definitely recommend these guys.
Glad to hear it Dave!
Be sure to let us know if there is anything further we can do for you.
