I also recently ordered one of their storage promos but the performance is so slow that it would probably take a week to even upload half of the storage. What good is 2TB storage if you can’t use it due to the poor performance. I regret signing up. It was a waste of $27. Definitely will not be renewing and I’d warn other people to stay clear too.
Performance is so slow you cannot use any of their crap server.
Stay away. Scam company
> On Black Friday, DediRock had 1.5GB VPS offers for only $6.85/year. Now they’re back for Cyber Monday…and the deal is even better!

> This offer was for a 1.5GB VPS…now it’s a 2.5GB VPS for the same incredible $6.85 a year price! Wow.
The plan is still 1.5GB for $6.85, where is 2.5GB?
Totally scam. Server worked only once and performance and support is so bad. Server is down 90%. Don’t you ever buy here.
Thank you!
Well, I ordered a storage VPS, and the first one they gave me had awful performance (~3MB/s write speed), after a ticket to support they gave me another with slightly better performance (~6-10MB/s) and the third one – finally more or less decent (considering the price) – ~60-300MB/s with average ~100MB/s. I’ll see how it behaves in time.
Got a 1.5TB storage. It works, but disk performance is as deadly as a rock. I am only using it for backup and hope the data would last longer.
I bought both the $6.77 promo VPS and the $27 Storage promo.
The $6.77 VPS is fantastic for what it is. You really can’t complain. I’m consistently seeing around 45 MB/s download speeds on test files, and it’s been working great as a web server.
The Storage box was a rough start. On initial provision, it was broken and could only be accessed via the VNC Java console from the client panel. Although it was assigned an IP and responded to external pings, it had no routing or gateway configured, resulting in zero inbound or outbound network connectivity.
Support was fairly quick to respond, though the initial reply was the scripted “it pings from all around the world” response, despite detailed diagnostics being provided. After I supplied further troubleshooting information, the instance was replaced with a new one.
The new instance is functional, but performance has been inconsistent. During the first few days, download speeds rarely exceeded 120 KB/s, making even basic tasks like updating Ubuntu nearly impossible. As of today, speeds appear to average around 6 MB/s. While this is usable, it’s still quite limited for a product marketed as a storage server — meaningful transfers can take hours.
I would absolutely buy more standard VPS offerings from Dedirock. The pricing is excellent, and the value is hard to beat. However, at this time, I would not recommend the storage machines, as the bandwidth limitations significantly reduce the practical value of the large storage capacity.
Hopefully this improves over time, but that has been my experience so far.
Gave it a go despite the negative comments here.
The negative comments about performance are spot on.
Performance is abysmal.
