DMEHosting Via this WHT offer. DNEHosting is running some time-limited offer on their virtual servers. For the same price that you used to be able to get only the 64MB OpenVZ/Xen VPS, now with $6.95/month you can get a much better package:

  • 512MB memory
  • 20GB storage
  • 1500GB/month data transfer

These are unmanaged low-maintenance VPS. HyperVM/OpenVZ setup I presume. Servers are located in Denver CO. You will need to use the link on that WHT page to order it.

The original owner of LowEndBox known as "LowEndAdmin" or "LEA" for short founded LowEndBox in 2008 and created the concept of hosting applications on low resource "Low End Boxes". After creating the roots of the community that we know today, "LEA" stepped aside and allowed others to carry the torch forward.

  1. Reading the UnixBench someone posted on WHT, it appears the CPU has been heavily throttled.

The processor my VPS is on is a Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz, but the container itself is limited to one core at 745MHz.

    Not good.

Not true, the VPS gives 2.5Ghz of CPU power. And it’s a Core2Quad 8300. The E5200 was swapped out within 12 hours the server was online with the Core2Quad 8300. And Unmanaged VPS 1 is given 2.5Ghz of CPU power, and VPS 2 is given 2×2.5GHZ cpu’s.
