  5. Hey pubcrawler,

If a location is not listed it means that we have no stock left at the location. We have this system in place so that no nodes will be overloaded.
I’ve just done a scan of the network and we do have some space left on our German nodes – which have been re-activated but will be disabled again when we run out of space.

    • Absolutely correct – we colocate our own hardware in the UK and in Luxembourg and use other providers to lease servers.

    BTW: I signed up.

Space available in Germany is only Munich. That network is a 100 connection.

If Gbit matters, better wait for availability.

Would have preferred Frankfurt as the goweb.de routing at least back here to the United States looks better (so far). Total Tinet from Scranton to Frankfurt, no other handoffs.

In contrast to Munich which goes like this:
    6 te0-5-0-2.ccr21.jfk07.atlas.cogentco.com (38.122.110.129) 7.441 ms 209.220.16.205.ptr.us.xo.net (209.220.16.205) 6.409 ms 6.523 ms

    Read that:
    Cogent, then XO, then Telia.

Have to spot check from other locations as Scranton is known for some oddball el cheapo routing often.

Difference between Frankfurt and Munich is roughly 10ms from Scranton. That probably is mostly just distance issue of 200 miles of separation.

I’ll post specs, tests, etc. a bit later.

      • Hey cZERO,

We always aim to provide instant setup, and in most cases it is instant. In your order there was a small issue with the IP which is why your order was delayed. Your VPS is now online – sorry for the wait.

According to their network page some of their servers seem not to have RAID enabled do they have any kind of backup system?

    February 24, 2012 @ 2:56 pm | Reply
    • Hi Bernardo,

We have an offsite backup server which is secured by raid. Transfers happen when the network is quiet so that it doesn’t effect the speeds for any customers. As we expand we will indeed push for RAID systems on nodes, for extra security.

        • Hello,

Yes – No1Servers used to provide SA-MP, MTA, IVMP servers and was running for over two years successfully. We however stopped providing game servers so that we could focus on domVPS and provide a better service to it’s customers.

  20. So much for setup in one minute,

Almost 24hrs ago, I ordered a vps from domVPS. They did not have any servers left in Netherlands or Luxembourg (which is where I wanted the VPS to be located) so I took a chance for a month with a VPS in Germany. I live in Canada. At the time I ordered, I was using CyperGhost with an IP address in Amsterdam. I don’t like the government policies of Canada and the U.S., my choice. Like the CyberGhost motto says ‘Privacy is not a Crime’. Well, my order was flagged as fraud and my order was cancelled. No investigation (a simple < 5 min Google search would have reveled that I am a real person and have another VPS that I have had for years), no communication.

There is a message here…"we don't want you business" I guess I'll take my business elsewhere.

    Rick

    • It’s not our fault you use a VPN. VPNs are mostly used for fraud and abusive tasks thus we simply ignore (apparent) fraudulent orders. A simple support ticket stating there was an error in the fraud detection and we would’ve been more than happy to assist you!

We don’t need spammers / DoSers to have instant setup, too. :-)
