  • 200GB Bandwidth
  • 1x IPv4 Address
  • SolusVM/Xen
  • $20.12/Year, Direct Signup

Why the exclamation point in the title? Is there something astonishing about a 128MB Xen in those locations? It seems like a perfectly attractive offer but I think it’s ok to stay with the calmer style that we’re used to.

Of course, that doesn’t necessarily indicate how things are now, but if I were in the market for another VPS in either of those locations, they would definitely be on my short list.

Can I run a VPN to surf for example youtube with it? (Here in germany most music videos are blocked by youtube because of some legal stuff).
Could I run a teamspeak server?

I also have a domain where I can change dns entries and so on; could I route this domain to the server then?

Hi, I signed up & was surprised/concerned about 2 things.

    – I received my password as entered by email, in plaintext. This means to me that you’re not following sensible password management practices (i.e. hashing).
    – I went to your control panel, https://control.neosurge.com:5656/login.php, and saw that your ssl cert expired 4 months ago. You haven’t bothered to fix this in 4 months?

Please explain why these 2 things are ok? :)

    • The certificate will be renewed shortly.

The plain text password is encouraged to be changed at signup. This is not a major security flaw and is the best method we have to get customers going quickly.

        Hi Brian,
I ordered 2 VPS 2 days ago – initially the control panel showed both. Now it is showing only 1! Also, on this one, when I try to reinstall new OS – nothing happenes! The control panel just changes the OS displayed to the new one, but the VPS remains at the old OS.

I have raised 2 support tickets but there has been no response from 2 days.
Can you please look into tickets 254230 and 440234?

        regards,
        JP

Brian squared everything away for me. He was very responsive with a RAM upgrade I needed as well. I’m very happy so far and I’m thinking about getting a second VPS while this deal is still active.

        Highly recommended!

I’m looking for a VPS to run a pair of small websites (<50MB, not that much traffic) and some small Fossil-SCM repositories (for random projects that I'm working on mainly). Would this plan be suitable for that?

    Thanks!

Feedback: I am skeptic about the technical support. Brian responded almost immediately to pre sales tickets multiple times. I bought 2 VPS. And now, both have issues – I have raised 2 support tickets (254230, 440234) and there has been no reply since last 15 hours.

    Avoid this provider.

I thought that it would be a great deal. Yet the install is CentOS release 5.3 bare bones. That is so out of date you cannot download an ISO to be able to run a vm locally to be able to try to debug issues. When I tried to bump the php version a bit (only from php 5.1.6 to php 5.2.10) it would hang trying to compile. I raised a support ticket asking to get a bump to a newer distro and it was unanswered after five days.

Basically I am simply going to abandon this provider and find another who is not running flogging an unsupportable distro with very obsolete packages.

    Beware.

    Simon

      Hi Simon Massey,

I’m not support for Neosurge and I’m also having issues with their service. But, you could try going to reinstall OS, it’s in the VPS manager. There you can select other images to install.

I’ve had a support ticket open for 20 hours with no reply.

I’m unable to connect to my VPS or ping it. I’ve used their reinstall OS option which hasn’t brought it back online.

My plan was to use them for hosting small business sites, charging my customers and getting a kick back from their affiliation program. At this point I wouldn’t recommend using their service for business if you need an excellect uptime.

This is from their TOS page… I asked for a refund when I submitted my cancellation request, The service was stopped but no refund has been provided. I have submitted a ticket with urgent status and never got a response. #128969

If nothing ever happens I guess I could always talk to my credit card company too, but I wish it would just be easy.

“We do give refunds for full months unused, not partial months, and billing is only done on full month or annual terms. If you decide to cancel after prepayment, you will not receive a refund for the current month in use (we do not give partial months refunds). If you have prepaid and received a multi-month discount, upon cancellation we will figure the refund retroactively withdrawing the discount back to the start date of the contract. This will result in paying full undiscounted price for the months used and refunding the balance. This only applies to cancellation by the client.”

I ended up doing some research on Neosurge and ” Brian. ”

It seems that this is a scam. The info on his Whois is also fake. I called the number and a lady answered. She informed me that the number was no longer Brians, I could also hear in her voice that she’s been called many times asking for this guy.

  52. What? 2 Days downtime! At least when I was screwed out of the deal I was down for good. Not any of this nanny panny 2 day crap..

I’m just amazed how someone with 500 servers has this kind of fall out over one box being lost. Lets divide 500/3.. 166 ppl between west coast, Chicago and NY.. lets tally up 99% of their business from LEB and assume only a few ppl complain?

A group somewhere is lying — I’m sure its not LEB community — they seem to be rather keen on this BS…

    Brian,
Close and refund the account connected with ticket 848314. I guess you don’t answer your tickets because they’re not public enough. I have no clue what kind of business you’re attempting to run. Whatever you’re doing, you’re doing it very wrong. Not only have I not heard back from you in way over a month. You’ve not answered a single support ticket, my refund ticket, and the dam vps still doesn’t work. Never in my life have I had a business transaction go this south. Collectively, you have a hell of a problem on your hands. You came here looking to promote your business and have done nothing but wipe it and your name through the mud. Well done sir, well done.
