Updated Nov 2010: RentAVPS has not been connecting since mid-October 2010. Maybe Yomura Holdings have terminated this brand?
Via this WHT offer. RentaVPS, a relatively new budget VPS hosting provider with domain registered in April, has released some cheap VPS plans. For $5.95/month you get:
- 256MB guaranteed/512MB burstable memory
- 20GB storage
- 250GB/month data transfer
- 2 IP addresses
- OpenVZ and (likely) HyperVM
On the WHT offer page the VPS are provisioned in Scranton PA (and the IP address belongs to HostNOC, i.e. BurstNET). The CPU used (E8200, Q8400, etc) are all desktop-grade chips with 4-8GB of memory and RAID1, and I am not surprised that actual desktop white boxes are used instead of server grade hardware (not a big deal at this price range I think). Owner is UK based. Interestingly domain uses a .NET extension whereas the .COM equivalent is not even registered!
Use code “VPS50OFF” to get 50% off 1st month.

The original owner of LowEndBox known as "LowEndAdmin" or "LEA" for short founded LowEndBox in 2008 and created the concept of hosting applications on low resource "Low End Boxes". After creating the roots of the community that we know today, "LEA" stepped aside and allowed others to carry the torch forward.
I notice there is a banner add on this site for RentaVPS that says 7 Datacenters, on their Website it says 15 now. But if you try to buy a vps it says “provisioned in dallas” where are the selections? I wouldnt mind a Paris vps for 5.95.
