We have recently raised our Maximum dedicated server price from $30 to $49. With that in mind, SilverKnightTech’s 4GB dedicated special can now be listed (stock is limited). SilverKnightTech have been featured on here over the past two years, as a VPS provider, under three different brands: SilverKnightTech, Just295 and Ruby Ring Technologies. Anthony mentioned, on their last post, that they were forced to give up the RubyRingTech brand following the exit of some internal owners (RubyRing were a 5 year old company with no negative publicity).
Servers will be placed within SilverKnightTech’s cage at the VegasNAP datacenter. Their cage is connected to backup power systems utilizing high-efficiency Mitsubishi UPS and Caterpillar diesel generators. We’re told it’s a secure facility with “dual authentication access control, video monitoring, and security monitoring”. SilverKnightTech don’t allow Warez, Torrents, Tor, Hate Sites, or Spam but Legal Adult Content is allowed. For a full list of what is acceptable, check out their Terms of Service. Cheques, Money Orders, Paypal, Visa, Master Card, and Discover are all accepted payment methods. They also have a 30 day refund policy for unused services.

This is considered low end?
This is low end dedicated server, not VPS.

Since when does a $40 a month offer fit into the pricing schema on here?
This isn’t the place for an offer like that.
For VPS the limit is $7/month. For dedicated server it is $49/month. So this fits.
How about lower grade hardware and ram but beef up the port speed?
I am afaid they wouldnt do this custom quote.

Yeah, that’s a turn off :/
Why is this important?
As long as they have credible positive feedback and a competitive offering, who cares how modern the logo is? Are all companies supposed to update their logo to make the look more modern? Some choose to, some don’t.

I was seriously considering this offer til I read this. Can I pay a one-time non-refundable cost of the ram, to have it upgraded? Or is it soldered to the motherboard or something?
Sorry about the confusion. When I ment you can’t upgrade, the boards will hold up to 32GB in them, but we don’t have any spare. If you wanted to order the server, I can get a one shot price for any upgrades, or you could order the ram and ship it to us. Give me a few minutes and I will get the exact ram these boards use.

Ok I am sorry the servers can hold 64GB’s of RAM, the boards are SuperMicro X7DBR-I+, so they support 667 / 533MHz FB-DIMM (Fully Buffered DIMM) ECC DDR2 SDRAM 72-bit, 240-pin gold-plated DIMMs 512 MB, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB.
