These new servers will be in Hurricane Electric’s Fremont 1 facility, and will be using Xeon 5620 with RAID10 drives. Test IP: 68.68.96.10.
Just a note that for 2 cheaper plans these are annual payment only so make sure you know what you are getting into and remember to make regular backups :) The plans and pricing pretty much match what BuyVM has, and now they are in the same location as well. Hmm, did I smell a little bit of competitions out there?

I have ordered one from them 2 days ago, it’s stable and very fast.
I’m happy with it, but it does not support pptp vpn, Nordicvps admin, are you gonna upgrade the kernel? Thanks.
Frank
I ordered one , but not paid yet coz their container does not support pptp
And also doesn’t support iptables rules “recent”.
Hi.
Like i see all nodes there are unstable (see http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/buyvm-15year-128mb-openvz-vps-is-back/ comments). I see some satisfied and not so satisfied comments there. So in any case. Are you planing on getting your ass kicked by careless users? Do you offer refunds for unsatisfied customers. And do you plan on expanding you business and use all sorts of outdated racks in your network? Best regards
Please note that we only experienced problems with our XEN / HVM nodes in Germany because Hetzner does not support XEN but we done hard work to make it work on their servers – also their network has been unstable causing latency problems.
pings from Croatia for Nordic and BuyVm
Nordic
BuyVM
My ping result from Malaysia: –
TO NORDICVPS [Fremont]
TO NORDICVPS [San Jose]
Well, if you’re in Croatia you should really get European based provider for better results:
My VPS box is a xen vps with NordicVPS in Germany.
I must say I’m happy with the service, low-demanding that I am.
Hurricane Electric is THE company when it comes to IPv6, so I wonder how long it will take for Nordic to start providing it on that location…
We will release a OpenVZ server in Germany with IPv6 and depending on the feedback and general experience we will release IPv6 to all VPS’s , since we already have IPv6 subnets assigned to each server.
This would be great. Especially german IPv6 as it’s more rare to get them as those fremont v6 addresses.
Do you already have ipv6 on the VPSes in Germany?
I get ~ 175ms pings to both BuyVM and NordicVPS at he.net in Fremont, CA from the Philippines. Since I’ve already got a BuyVM vps in Fremont and a NordicVPS in Germany, I’m thinking I’ll sit this one out. It looks like a good deal that should be popular, though.
I am using it now. I feel it’s better than buyvm
Definitely not fast from Europe, but good enough in the US: http://www.pingbrigade.com/result/852fe309e6cd6617e415b17d9bd6e9379473831a. If I needed a CA server now I’d go for it.
What is so exclusive about OVZ512-LEB?
Are they reliable?
Yes, I am their customer on XEN PV (San Jose, USA) since months.
Recently bought another XEN HVM (Manchester, UK)
Some nodes at NordicVPS have following problems:
– CPU MHz shown is misleading, same process will take double CPU resources compared to other VPS providers
– some older nodes have very poor i/o performance (12-20 mb/s) and they won’t upgrade it, nor they will move clients to new nodes, unless they request it
If you are lucky you may get on a good node, but you never know how long performance will last. I think they are overselling both OpenVZ and Xen nodes.
I am wondering how can we choose to purchase Fremont or San Jose with the order link provided here. Anyone know? Thank you.
@Wing Loon: order links above are for Fremont
What if I want to order for San Jose? Are Fremont and San Jose from different bandwidth providers???
You should experience the same network on both locations since they are same both powered by Hurricane Electric (HE.net) Our San Jose servers are currently sold out and our primary DC is now in Fremont.
Cool, thank you for clarification :)
Hey NordicVPS, do you allow personal IRC use?
Please find our TOS/AUP here: https://nordicvps.com/legal.html
do you allow ptunnel run on your vps?
NO…We Not Allowed Ptunnel….
even for private usage?
Or any other form of tunneling or private ssh tunneling? I sit behind a rather strict firewall all day at the local library (ie They block Google on occasion.) and I need to get around it to do my work.
We will accept private usage of ptunnel but we reserve the rights to suspend a VPS that hogs all resources (CPU, disk I/O and network) because of usage of proxy software.
Just make sure you clear it with us by submitting a ticket. Thanks
Thanks for the response.
Nordic support only 2co or Paypal :( .
If they allow Moneybookers i can signup.
From this thread http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=981902 They DO have MoneyBookers now
I signup a 128MB vps last night, but this mornig I get their email said my account was suspended due to FRAUD. It’s totally ridiculous. Also I submited a support ticket 12 hours ago, but no answers until now.
I am using it now. But can i upgrade OVZ128 to OVZ256 or OVZ512?
Sure, You can upgrade :) Just submit a ticket. Upgrades will be instant and without dataloss.
Need add to NorDic Alertpay or Moneybooker payment systems. Paypal sucks.
Signed up for a OVZ128-LEB VPS and it was online and operating within about 5 minutes! I am impressed!
Downloaded a different Linux distro using the SolusVM and it set it up perfectly. Easiest vps configuration I have seen.
Thanks!
Got one last night, works fine.
Latency to everywhere in the world is exactly as I’d expect for HE in CA.
Speed throughput is great, a 100MB file from cachefly takes just on 1 second to d/l :)
Disk IO seems fine.
1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 1.47502 seconds, 728 MB/s
Now to see if it lasts the full year!
Speedtest – 82 MB/s = 656 Mbps ;-)

The Freemont VPS is a great diversity vps + beeing in CA “near” to asia for what I’m looking after.
WTF!!!!
https://nordicvps.com/portal/cart.php?a=checkout its 2CheckOut & PayPal now. No moneybookers and alertpay get-way.
Moneybookers recently changed their setup and demands too much paperwork so we have disabled Moneybookers — But we may in exhange introduce AlertPay…
I have a OVZ128-LEB VPS in Hetzner, Germany. Can I be migrated to the HE datacenter in CA? If you can cancel the Hetzner VPS, and set up a new one in CA, that is okay too.
OVZ128-LEB plan is out of stock. Are you gonging to restock it?
Stocks has been updated now. Thanks
Hello, i am new with VPS, is this thing really $15/YEAR, as when i told some people they say it can’t be, its probably a scam, also please tell me can i install Zend and APC on your VPS?
Yes you can. It’s a VPS and you have root access so you can pretty much install anything the operating system allows. However with 128MB memory, APC/Zend can be a bit of stretch.
I need to test a script called social engine (http://www.socialengine.net/) , i have downloaded the trial but it doesn’t work on my Godaddy hosting, they say you need a VPS :(
We are an unmanged VPS provider. You can install ZEND and APC yourself – just Google for tutorials / guides.
E.g here is one random from Google on APC on CentOS : http://mrfloris.com/vbulletin/installing-apc-on-centos-5-server/
We provide you with full root access — you are only restricted by the (RAM( memory allocation. For a system like SocialEngine I would suggest you upgrade to our OVZ512 plan.
Hi,
After the OVZ128 sold out yesterday, but I found it OVZ128 – LEB (US) (91 Available) now, Is the new vps still on the same node? will you put more then 200 vps on one node?
The stocks number was set to 100 after latest stock reset and is used mainly to control the number of order so we do not overload the servers.
Thanks for the help, but OVZ512 is out of my budget right now! Can’t 128 even handle the script? i don’t mind if its a little bit slow!
Sure, you can always start out with an OVZ128 and upgrade later without problems :)
Please allow moneybookers. Why show out of stock :D
Moneybookers is too much hassle for us now, so we have disabled them.
Instead we will enable AlertPay as a payment option.
Stocks are updated. We control the stock status to make sure servers does not get overloaded.
We have a servers few on standby and add thme to the live pool on-demand.
When you are gonna add the alertpay option? I need the VPS today but don’t have PP/2CO.
Can’t you pay using creditcards via 2Checkout ?
Very nice Ping
I get 3 VPSs from Nordic. All working very well with nginx. Nice work Nordicvps!
Do you have Xen box available at fremont?
No sorry, we have not yet XEN nodes ready in Fremont but we have few slots open in our nodes in San Jose and Los Angels. Please open a ticket and mention which plan you want to order and we will try sort it out for you.
Out of stock. When will more be available?
Can you please restock on 128 mb VPS? Took a little while to get a new cc.. shame.
Is your VPS still hosted on Hurricane Electric’s Fremont 1 facility? My VPS shows it is hosted by EGIHosting?
You VPS is hosted with HE.net @ Fremont, we just provide the hosting via EGIHosting ;)
ya the hosting isnt done directly through hurricane electric, but through egihosting that has rackspace inside of hurricane electric in fremont.
both BuyVM and Neosurge use egihosting as well.
We still have stocks left for OVZ256 and OVZ512 :)
I ordered one OVZ256 30 hours ago, no setup instantly, still pending…
XEN PV or XEN HVM in San Jose, few stocks available :)
https://nordicvps.com/order/sjc512
To convert PV to HVM, just submit a ticket. Thanks
Is there any support with these? I submitted a ticket 4 days ago to set my rDNS and enable the TUN/TAP module with no response…
rDNS can be set via the VPSManager (Select VPS -> Select “IP Addresses” -> Click on [edit] and Change rDNS for your IP. Changes are live instantly.
We are working on a semi-automated approval/activation for TUN/TAP as well.
Thanks
For what it’s worth..
When I opened ticket 8 days ago, which still hasn’t been touched btw, the RDNS update said to log a ticket.
Sorry for the delay in response to tickets.
Automated rDNS is enabled for all VPS’s in Fremont,US but not for servers in San Jose or Los Angels or Germany.
I am using VPS XEN, sent a request support yesterday night and did not get any respond until now.
Really slow support for this time :(
I suggest NordicVPS should support Online Support like other company.
;)
Did anyone receive support from NordicVPS since 1st Nov?
:(
Not yet.
I closed my reverse DNS ticket after 8 or 9 days. Did it myself after they enabled it in the control panel.
I opened another ticket last night about my VPS being sluggish to respond and got a fairly boilerplate response a few hours later.
Sounds like they are a bit busy, touch wood it improves :-)
Anyone else on the 64.71.160.2 node getting regular pauses say in interactive things like shell sessions?
i got one.
But not for this plan
They must be busy as hell back there.
I have got opened a ticket more than 3 days without reply and i dont have the vps active :S
they are closing down probably like many others including buyvm.
We have no plans on closing down the business. We have invested a large amount of time and money in business in Germany with 20+ servers and are also set up in US West and United Kingdom and soon in US East coast as well.
When your server is down how can we get in touch with you since you never reply ticket?
I wouldn’t say never :P
I’ve had one response, pretty much useless boiler plate, but a response nonetheless.
I’m just trying to work out how long I have to put up the service to break even :P
We are taking care of it – OVZ2 went down for unknown reasons and booting up now
looking for reliable and instant support … If their server still not improve, i will terminate them.
We are not online 24/7 and support is slower in weekends. Remember we customers many timezones (Asia/US & Europe)
OVZ2 again downm what is wrong again? 2 times today 6 hours down!
We are working on it. We have put the techs to check whats going on with the node.
Its fully pingable so strange why the VPS are not reachable!
Hey, German server is down,
no answer on ticket,
behaving like another RackVm.
Probably they’re related.
I have 2 VPS from them, Xen PV & Xen HVM. Both in germany. Working flawlessly.
We have 20+ servers and so far we only had this experience severe downtime recently on one (1) of the nodes! The server is online and customers who pay monthly has been offered migration to other nodes inside Germany or to our servers in United Kingdom!
Please do not make such untruthful allegations, it is foolish with such claims that we are related to other RackVM — its very offensive and unnecessary!
What is offensive, is the length of time taken for replies to tickets :P
You get a virtual server with full root access cheaper than a cup of coffee ;) – so please bear with our slow support but we try hard to catch up :) Maybe we should have named the offer to “NoSupportLinuxVPS” :P
@NordicVPS
I heard that something like “How do I install Apache” is a surefire recipe to get account closed and money refunded over there at BuyVM, and indeed, cheap VPSes cannot be expected to be ‘managed’ or offer general OS/software support.
But tickets about ‘my VPS is down’ or provider-only controlled stuff like rDNS (perhaps limiting the latter to reasonable amount, like at most 1 request for rDNS per month) should be still answered reasonably quickly, no matter the price.
@rm Yes you are right and we aim to cover the most requests and are working trough the queue at even faster phase and will get the response time down to far less than today, it should be hours not days.
We are genuinely sorry for the bad support but we work to cut down the response time to a minimal soon as possible.
rDNS IPv4: Customers in UK and US can set this via VPSManager, Germany will follow soon.
rDNS IPv6: Manual entries can be done for German VPS’s but not yet for UK or US – but will follow soon (2011?)
No problem, I am not one of your customers at the moment, though I might well be in future, now that you are starting to offer IPv6!
(*)·´`·.¸.» IPv6 ´`·.¸.»(*)
Hopefully by tomorrow, every customer (USA, Germany and United Kingdom) with get access free IPv6 IPs :-)
We will also be able set rDNS for the IPv6 IPs in Germany and will try get it working for customers in US and UK .. at some point…
LEA: Could seriously use a [edit] comment feature :)
Will that be NATIVE or TUNNELED ipv6?
Were in the UK are using having the VPSes? (testip?)
NATIVE IPs.
We already got the subnets assigned to all our servers, but awaits full support in SolusVM before we can start assign them to our customers.
If you say “Hopefully by tomorrow” -> is that because there will be a newer SolusVM version or will it be done even if SOlusVM doesn’t support it yet?
@NordicVPS – even if i waited for support my ticker is answered in reasonable time. So if i may say so i would like to say thank you for gr8 service and even gr8er support. For all you others be seriously you realy got a gr8 VPS service for unbelievable small fee. So shit it. NordicVPS thumbs up for your company. Recommending you to all of my friends.
Thanks for your comments :) We are happy that we can serve your VPS hosting need satisfactory to an affordable price :)
Our servers in Germany run @ 3.33 Ghz+ pr core which I think is not valued by everyone — some hosts provide cheap VPS off “old” Core2Quad while all our servers are either i7 975 Extreme Ed. or powered by DUAL (2x) Quadcore XEON 5620s .. both series utilize ultra fast DDR3 RAM not old DDR2 and all servers have RAID10 protected disk setup for max. performance.
In my honest opinion our customers get big bang for a very low budget. :)
@NordicVPS after 6 days, the ticket is not yet answered.
If this is reasonable, and also, customers have to shut up and wait because it is cheap, I have nothing else to say, the bad review is poping up all over the place.
don’t understand why you are driving your business to ditch?
I am sorry for the slow response to your ticket(s).
We are digging trough all tickets by end of today, we should be done with the long queue :)
Keep digging to surprise me one day with initial answer on my ticket! :)
Please resubmit your ticket if you still haven’t received any reply to your ticket.
We got trough the queue last Friday and its not back to normal, almost :-)
Please follow us on Twitter @nordicvps for service updates/announcements and special offers (http://twitter.com/nordicvps)
It makes it much easier to communicate server/networks issues and updates to a larger group instantly.
Anyone else see the 52 minute outage over the weekend in Fremont?
I thought everyone at Fremont 1 was down due to power outage at the data center.
http://status.linode.com/2010/11/possible-power-outage-in-fremont.html
Yeah without a doubt, although my Nordic box recovered quicker. My 2 Linode hosts were a fair bit longer.
I find the lack of communication from Nordic quite fascinating, applies to outages, events, support tickets, the works.
Meh.
Very Happy with the server. Very Good up time. Hope they stay in business for long time.
sold out, any new available?
We are out of stock for now.
Submit an email / ticket to us @ Sales for more information on other incredible offers :)
I had “OVZ128-LEB” and was quite pleased with the bandwidth and I/O speed. I decided to upgrade to “OVZ256-LEB” after the first month. Then I noticed that after I upgraded to “OVZ256-LEB”, they capped my bandwidth to 5mbit. Has anyone experienced this?
@NordicVPS when will the OVZ256 be available?
@NordicVPS FMT01 tun support has been disabled, can you please enable it again?
Nice vps, fast, great uptime, cheap.
But the support… still no response after 10 days.
I hope upcoming Christmas, Santa Claus will lent out his elves to help with tickets.
this guy won’t answer any ticket.
That’s who he is, so if you have problem with vps, forget any help.
NordicVPS recently had a drive failure in one of their VPS nodes:
This was 4 days ago, but nothing happened. Such downtimes are frequent (this is the longest so far). Despite this I have a support ticket open since over a month. I guess won’t ever be answered. They also have no SLA.
I will never pay again for a VPS one year in advance.
I am on that node and server is down for almost 4 days. No answers from them. I also will never pay for anything one year in advance. I am just about to ask Paypal for money refund. I hope they can do it. I have sent them copies of all my tickets and conversations with Nordic VPS support. :-(
We have hired new support staff and they will take care of your tickets.
OVZ02: (Friday) We asked for a hardware replacement (disk) and they DC sent us link to their Wiki, we had to repeat the request for hardware replacement and suddenly they decide to take down the server, because of some abuse complaints caused by a small number of VPS’s hosted on the server. We always act fast on abuse notifications but still we had to send them some signed papers before they provided us access to the node server but the network was not working, again after few tickets and few hours they fix the network (plugged the server back onto the network)
Then we had to send new requests for hardware replacement and this caused another short downtime while they replaced the broken disk before the server was finally online.
The downtown was unexpected and longer than desired. I am sorry for inconvenience caused. We hope this situation would not repeat again.
These guys are unbelievable. They deleted my VPS!!!
I purchased a VPS, Paid and now it’s gone?
I got a refund of 9.95 from 2Checkout 1 week later I had paid to nordicVPS.
But I didn’t realized until now that my VPS would be deleted.
For some reason it marked as Fraud and refunded 1 week later but nordic didnt even email me or anything. just deleted my VPS out of nothing.
I spent so many hours setting up that VPS and it’s gone. Thrown away just like that !
that is so disappointing.
I cant believe it they did that.
That is totally unbelievable….
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1024221
I have two VPS there. In past month i had about 40% uptime. But that is not uptime as expected, they crippled all VPSs on german nodes (they cant pay for servers so they go to few bigger). VPS’s work with one CPU Core at 800mhz because nodes are overcrowded. With that VPS u can’t do anything except for blog… Recently i moved customers to other server and wanted to use vps as seedbox (network is still good 1gbps), but when i do reinstall no vps can boot (but i can ping ip!?). Support don’t respond except for uniform messages like “we are moving VPS to other node”, “Moving failed, expect downtime”… So far they moved mu VPS THREE TIMES (ovz02, ovz03, vm03, vm09). Admin it is time for dead pool… They took our money and when bills came they are nowhere to be found… I lost 70$ with this b-e-e-p company…
Well, I am wondering how is the criteria to the dead pool. Because the website can keep running for years, but the service or the support may be dead. That is the case of vpstree too (I have mentioned it 3 times now).
Overall, the best $15/year seems to be the BuyVM offer.
For vpstree — it seems to be a ghostship right now. However for NordicVPS, Adam is still replying emails and making forum posts.
Well, I must tell everyone, I paid the last invoice of vpstree :D Just because was still up and running :P
I wonder how much will stay up (I have cancelled years and years ago xD )
Honestly I love my 99C vps, is very good, but as you said, is a ghostship :S And that is risky.
PS: This was the comment I was looking LEA, I losed it o_O and thought it dissappeared.
their server is down again and again.
The server will be back shortly!
Next time get in touch with us using our MSN support for fast support!
We may be required to reformat the server and install fresh OS and system files. (Faster solution than sit and try rebuild the disks)
It will require that we create new VPS’s for you as well and you will get new IPs!!
…
Please do not submit tickets demanding that you require a certain IP!
Please do not submit tickets demanding we recover your data!
“professional” as always. Is there ANY SINGLE REASON why on your another screw up (one from many in line…) you wouldn’t be able to accomodate users with their IPs (atleast on request)? Sometimes it seems like you’re doing everyting to get rid of 15$/year users and you’re doing well – that’s for sure.
That’s in this thread by the way:
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1041109&highlight=NordicVPS
A post afterwards says that they got TOS’ed. Not sure if that’s true or not but I wanted to point it out.
Do also not flood forums and sites with complaints, it will not lead to the better but only worse.
I love this line, oh and the bit about Easter Holidays coming up.
:(
in another words, when you are using Nordic Vps, f*** yourself, that’s it.
don’t send ticket, ‘I have to sleep now’, ‘I have to take holidays’, rest of you, whether server is down or crashed, f*** yourself. God bless Sean!
No update from them today. Anyone heard anything?
Nope. My VPS has been down for more than two days now. No updates from them at all.
I guess another RackVm.
1/3 of LEB posting goes into ‘gone with the wind’ lately.
Naaah.. he’s always back after some week or two of downtime and new IPs. Don’t worry, he will keep going with his famous 65% uptime :) And it was about a time for his .us screw up after all those .de issues.
I’m going to chase him all over WHTm whatever his ad shows, I will attach his own words.
that will be funny.

Thanks for keeping us updated. I think they are pretty much down the drain
I haven’t submitted a ticket or anything, but the latest message I got from Nordic a few hours ago said that the server had crashed and was unrecoverable, and that they need to order new parts to fix it. Once it’s fixed, then they’ll create a new VPS. No word on exactly how long all that will take, though.
They don’t colocate though…
Francisco
They vanished again?
From his twitter:
We now provide 1000 Mbps (GigE) Uplink and native IPv6 in 5 locations!
Fremont, CA
Chicago, IL
Washington, DC United Kingdom & Germany
so I guess his fremont is fixed, but refused give my vps, go figure.
They haven’t tweeted after Apr 20 so probably you have an old tweet OR they deleted their recent tweet
Customers affected by the crash in Fremont, get a VPS in Germany FREE for 1 month, as compensation while we recover the US node server.
https://nordicvps.com/order/ovzcrash-fremont
Use Coupon: 7Re8aYav
One month long “recovering” node/downtime? What node do you have? Some rare, custom technology? :-) You don’t even colocate in fremont, correct? :)
OVZ512-LEB .. out of stock ?
Damn, someone still buying?
Are you stupid… Did you not read more than 5 threads on leb about this guy!? Couple of more on WHT… If u have money to throw away give it to some homeless people, don’t give to nordic… You will never see that money again and will not get service you paid for.
We have stocks available in US and UK — default orders are placed in Fremont, US.
If you need the VPS in UK, please note it the comment field on the order page.
Please check the website for cool offers: https://nordicvps.com/
All new nodes in US are powered by Sandy Brigde E3 1270 XEON – they are blazing fast :)
will you please fix your server in Fremont?
they are all down now…
Servers are up. Had to restart networking few times to test IPv6.
We now provide the new VSwap feature on all new OpenVZ VPS orders in US.
for how long nobody knows… Maybe he would refund you for the downtime… Ha ha …
Google is your friend… Enter Nordicvps review, You will see couple of threads on wht and few on LEB.
Hello! I bought 24 hours ago 1 vps of 2 gb of ram. I dont receive still, and i want to ask question:
How many time do you give me the vps?
thanks
