Here is the link to order. That offers is actually getting better with USD as US greenback appreciated a bit over the last couple of weeks. Servers in UK with BurstNET I believe (from previous post, test IPv4: 217.114.63.178, IPv6: 2a02:21a8:2:3b::e76a:c130). I am not too sure about the level of management provided here, although James did mention helping clients migrating websites so I guess it might be part of the package.

1 IPv6 address struck me as being rather mean, but clicking through to the LET thread its actually 16x IPv6 – a typo posting it here I guess.
BurstNET is particularly nasty towards IRC, even to the degree of possibly blocking port 6667 ( http://burst.net/policy/terms.shtml ). But with this offer “IRC, torrents and proxies are allowed for legal use”. I wonder is this really possible without any problems in the long run. Can you allow what your DC doesn’t, or do you have a special arrangement w/them.

I’ve got 2 VMs with these guys, one tiny Xen one for irc and an OpenVZ for random stuff, testing, coding on, all that jazz. I’ve been pretty happy with both.
The Xen one had a little network instability at first. It was just after they started allowing IRC, and i assume they picked up a few bad apples because the network problems were down to a DDOS. There were 2 or 3 shortish outages, but since then it’s been rock solid.
Network’s fast, boxes are fast and the price is right.
Support’s always fast, they’re based in the UK and so are the support staff, and they conduct themselves in a professional manner, which can’t be said for some hosts… :)
I don’t like yearly offers, but I’d trust James.

We have a special arrangement with regard to IRC and proxies etc.
@James: Is the IRC arrangement just for the UK datacenter or valid for US as well? I have a US Xen Eliminator with your company but my understanding was no IRC allowed…

When you say fully managed, it means that I can add as many sites I want from the admin console without going in SSH mode or anything else?
I’m not really comfortable with those things (I tried many times, just took a VPS recently to do basic stuff but always keeping the server tidy and optimized is a job, not mine).
I just need a hosting service where I can have full control (just in case, maybe install Redmine or Ruby) and add a few websites but without having to manage the updates or whatsoever.

Easy mistake to make if you host and whois the IP. Dunno how long you’ve been around here, Paul, but there are a lot of scammers and cheats on here, so the default position is cynical. :)
I agree too, I’ve been happy with Qualityservers. You’re lucky with no downtime, mind you. I’ve had a few periods, spread across my Xen and OpenVZ boxes, but usually there’s a blog post made on their support pages before I get a chance to moan about it. I don’t mind problems if they’re fixed quickly, and James and co are always on top of things.

1) Because my name is linked do not ‘assume’ that is what it hosts.
I have over 30 servers, why would that one host that site always??

2) If you talk about cloudflare then you would know how it works, cloudflare blocks the actual servers ip that is used to host it, called a CDN, it works from proxying things, maybe you should learn about technology before making accusations because that is what they are.

He understands software and hardware a lot more than you usual vps user.
He also has a doctorate in computer science? (I think) and runs a successful hosting company,

Interesting VPS indeed, the benchmarks are pretty good but the disk I/O is surprisingly low and I was told that dd is not a good test for disk I/O…

BTW, I noticed your comments on Geekbench. The latest Geekbench does not run correctly on less than 512MB of RAM. That’s probably why it kept aborting.
If the IO is throttled by some means would dd only show the max IO rate you can get, and nothing on how the overall IO system experience is on the VPS. As long as your IO rate is bellow the throttling limit should all IO be as responsive as on a normal unsaturated IO system.
I am using QualityServers for more than a year now. Exceptional service in all apsects. Keep it like that.
