It seems to be a nice offer for a Softlayer datacenter.
Softlayer means rented hardware and IP space. Rented hardware and IP space usually means higher costs.
NQhost?
Never had good experience with them. Sign up at your own risk.
Have you had the experience with all other hosting providers? :)
We have posted some packages here during last two years, you can find the reviews under our tag: http://www.lowendbox.com/tag/nqhost-com/
I’ve never been able to understand how the math works with a provider who is renting services from Softlayer and then selling lowendbox type offers.
Yes, it’s difficult to understand :)
In our case, we have some slots available in Dallas with IP subnet, so we are able to provide this package at this moment.
Dude, it’s LEB. Nothing has to make sense! Just make the offer appealing, throw out logic and wait for 2 weeks for the “I GOT RIPPED OFF!!!” threads
I would have thought this is above LEB’s price limit. It’s the max $7/month even though there is a 3 month minimum.
@paul Sorry it was a long night but, 21 p/quarter is 7 p/month? 21/3=7 ?
Or did I miss something?
kinda what in was thinking too..isn’t 21/3 = 7 hehe
Anyways, I went ahead and got one – I do like to connections that this DC uses though, as I can see that they aren’t joking with their huge list of providers at Softlayers site. I tried to hit some nodes around the globe, and noticed the connection was really good and always going over a fast, short path, hops wise. Otherwise, Im kinda sad about the single core:

Overall, I am satisfied with it; I was looking for a node in the Central US, and this one will fit for this particular project.
Don’t be sad. We have added the second core for your VPS :)
What I mean is that the current maximum is $7/month for monthly billing (http://www.lowendbox.com/about/#toc-faq). If a host is using annual billing then the limit is $48/year ($4/month). I just checked the guidelines and it doesn’t say anything about quarterly or bi-monthly billing, but I think it should, and the limit should be lower than for monthly billing. $15/quarter might be a good limit. Even $7/month isn’t really low end any more, and there was some talk of modifying that a while back under the LEA regime, but nothing happened.
Thanks guys – guess I can wipe that miserable look off face and be happy that I got hooked up. Thanks again :D
have been working with these people for quite some time, about 2 years, uptime and speed is good, I had a Xen in germany, and a Xen in Dallas.
they have unlimited bandwidth, and that is why I picked them at first.
another word to describe them, is flexible, meaning if you have custom needs, they probably will adapt to fit them, unlike other providers that follow specific rules when offering packages, and payments.
How unmetered is unmetered? Looked through the TOS and can’t find anything.
I have a lot of good things to say about NQHost. Their unmetered seems to be really unmetered; I’ve got a low end vps from them pushing consistent 4-5mbps and never had a problem. I’ve got a bunch of accounts with them now, and I will say that I/O contention is (as you should expect) pretty rough at times on the “low cost” accounts, especially these promo accounts. I got one of those deals back when it was $15/quarter, and that box drags most of the day, every day. On the other hand, I also have several $10/mo accounts with them which perform just fine, and a couple of $25 – $30 a month accounts from them which perform great as well.
I’ve been with NQHost since last October, and never had any real trouble. The only real gripe is that IP availability can be very limited, including on the system I’m using as my primary web server. :(
Sold out, don’t waste your time. They’ll take your money anyway.
one of the best vps providers out there.
been with them, box is up 200 days.
