Hello,
That Linux-256-SolusVM does not appear to be in Dallas, TX on our new hardware, it would not be E5520s, we do not use anything but E3 Haswell processors after our datacenter migration in Dallas.
Based on the processor, I would assume your Linux-256-SolusVM plan is in our Chicago location (which has not received any upgrades yet). You would get much better I/O performance in Dallas on our new hardware.
Thanks.
i rate this provider 1/10 and i give them 0.5 star.
very bad performance.
Would you care to elaborate? We have had nothing but compliments regarding our performance since the hardware upgrade.
Nice try. Your saying its the 256MB plan, but from that benchmark, it’s clearly a 512MB server. It’s probably not even from 123Systems. What do you have against them? If you had a bad experience with them, please be a man and post that. Pussies just leave a bad benchmark test from some other provider.
vswap or burst ram ! thank you !
Which node is your Linux-256-SolusVM package on? I could not reproduce this speed with the i3d.net and the Leaseweb server. Speed is more like 50K/s.
can i have trial wirhout creditcard sir?
only for 3 or 5 day
So that you can spam? Good idea!
Only on LEB do you find dimwits that want a VPS for 3-5 days and it doesn’t matter how cheap it already is, they still want it for free. And not to mention he doesn’t want to provide any payment details so if he is caught doing whatever he wants to do, nobody can do anything about him. Yea, sure…
Hey, just put in an order but MaxMind flagged me. I’m ordering from S. Korea, is that a blocked country?
Hello,
Can I please have your order number?
Thanks!
I with this company almost 2 year now..
I rate this company 10/10
Their support is great
My plan with them
Memory 128 MB
Bandwidth 250 GB
Disk Space 5 GB
Dallas
for $5 yearly yes you heard it right 5 buck yearly
every month or two they have a yearly deal going on
and for their website they update it couple day ago
Hello,
Thank you for the comments!
We are glad that you enjoy the service we have provided you with.

Thanks for fake review, if only more fake reviews would be posted on the web besides 9/10 being negative and service equivalent of 1/10.
Can anybody upload a 100mb.bin on the Linux-256-SolusVM package? I would like to test the speed from The Netherlands. Thanks.
Michiel,
This isn’t on the Linux-256-SolusVM plan specifically, however the network does not differ on a per-plan basis.

@james im not posting fake review about 123system
i been with 123system almost 2 year i find them at freevps.us
I doubt that. Once I have a VPS with them and they are terribly bad.
I’ll rate this provider 1/10.
Hello,
We have been making massive improvements over the past few months, including moving our clients to our completely owned hardware in the Tierpoint facility as well as upgrading all clients to SSD cached nodes for free of charge.
I wish you would consider giving us another shot so you can see first hand at all the changes we’ve been making!
Thanks.
I signed up yesterday, and the provisioning took almost an hour (filed a support ticket to make sure it went through—the ticket was handled within 10 min.), but the server’s been fine today so far. Here are the stats for the Linux-256-SolusVM in Dallas:

Sorry about that, that was a template sync issue from when we updated all of our OVZ templates with newer operating systems (the ones that are avail now); Some did not sync properly and it resulted in some containers now being setup automatically.
Everything should be good on that front now though.

Hello,
Thank you for sharing your comments!
I am glad you are satisfied with the service you have received.
Have had a openvz with 123 for a little while (2 years maybe?), was somewhat satisifed.. until the past week or so. Seems like some of their servers crashed (not sure when), but *absolutely* 0 contact from 123 on it, if I had never logged into the control panel to see my IP had changed, Im sure I still wouldnt know about it.
Thankfully it was basically a non-used vps with non important data, but the fact they still havent sent any emails (minus the one they sent in response to my ticket) about the crash……
Hello,
May I please have your ticket #?
Thanks.
I have a VPS with 123Systems for nearly two years now. Andrew has always been very helpful, and performance has been extremely solid since the hardware upgrades they done.
About to pick up another VPS. I’m not going to say no to a $9 per year 256MB VPS, that’s a steal!
Thanks for this great offer lowendbox!
Thanks Ali!
Glad you are happy with the service.
Hi Andrew,
I am looking for a cheap VPS to test my multiplayer game on. My typical usage scenario would be:
1. Start up the game server on the VPS.
2. Try to connect to it from the client on my computer.
3. Run around by myself for a few minutes.
4. Stop the game server.
Is this allowed? I will be doing nothing close to running a full blown server 24/7 for a popular game (Minecraft Counterstrike etc) with players playing all the time. I just want to test my own programs. I read through your acceptable use policy and while it stated that torrents, TOR, bitcoin etc are prohibited, it didn’t say anything about game servers.
I noticed a special clause about Java processes. Just to note my program is not Java, it’s compiled C++.
So would I be allowed to do what I stated above? If allowed, is it allowed on the Open-VZ servers, or would I have to purchase a Xen server?
Thanks.
Are bitcoin nodes allowed? I see that mining is prohibited in your AUP, but I’m only interested in running a node — not mining.
Hello,
We only prohibit the mining portion of BitCoins.
Thanks.
$9/yr is a pretty amazing price. Ordered one about 14 hours ago, just waiting for it to be provisioned.
Hello,
It should have been provisioned automatically unless it got stuck somewhere. What is your order #?
Thanks.
So where are the servers actually located?
The post says Dallas, the ip looks more like Buffalo, NY
Hello,
That is due to the address on ColoCrossing’s IP addresses, which results in GeoLocation using the NY location. A tracert will confirm the physical location is in Dallas,TX, we do not offer nor provision services in any other location at this time.
Thanks!
after reading “123systems – Issues and not responding to ticket.” on WHT I think I’ll pass…
Hello,
We have changed our operations greatly over the past few months, including support and service performance. We have been implementing large improvements to our service base as a whole, which included massive hardware upgrades free for every client. These hardware upgrades included better processors (Intel Xeon Haswell) and SSD caching technology, so performance has noticeably improved.
Thank you.
Customer service comes FIRST.. always look at customer service b4 ever signing up to any company.. Trust me on that..
I agree with the above statement, and if anyone feels that we are lacking in that department then I’d like to know about it. We strive to provide excellent customer service.
-Andrew
Andrew,
I’m assuming you’re the same Andrew who has responded in some of my tickets over the last year and (almost) a half that I’ve been a customer.
I have to disagree with your assessment of the customer service. IF/WHEN you get a response, its generally polite and sometimes very helpful. However the problem is even GETTING a response. This is particularly concerning because, at least for me, ever since the hardware migration you’ve referenced took place I’ve had my servers go offline multiple times for multiple hours at a time. The downtime coupled with the complete lack of response, and the fact that support has multiple times referenced RFO’s that I’ve never seen is very frustrating.
Frankly you seem more responsive here on this blog then via support tickets.
Stephen
i`ve been taken one Linux-256-SolusVM from then less then 24 hours ago. payd and received server details quite in time.
however after about 12 hour VPS went offline .
i had tried to boot/reboot vps from solusvm but guess what? it has no effect.
no answer on ticked in 2 hours (not that long i know , but it`s not that long since i`ve got it ).
it seems i`ve just succeeded to get it started from solusvm.
Hello,
May I please have your ticket # so I check as to why you experienced these issues?
Thanks.
i been with 123system for almost 2 years.
september 2011, i purchase a 256-chicago-yearly plan
http://i.imgur.com/aXM1qVd.jpg
the vps didn’t work for me, i submitted a ticket #430104 but they didn’t be able to fix it.
and they close the ticket without answering me
another ticket #845216. im asking for a refund, but same story,
my ticket was close while waiting for them to answer.
after 1 year, its the end of billing period and wasn’t able to use my vps.
Hello,
I am sorry you experienced these issues. If you would like you can open a ticket with us and we will give you a free year on a package with equivalent resources in our Dallas,TX location.
Thanks.
thanks a lot.
Ticket #123-O3P5B-KWN
Wendell,
You should be good to go now.
Thanks!
thanks a lot, got my vps for 1 year and its working great.
Too bad, XEN special ran out of stock. Would it be refilled soon?
I would love this too!
Looks like I missed this.
We should be stocking up on XEN again this week.
Thanks!
From the AUP:
What does this mean? What is the difference between RAM based and regular servers. Does this mean all Java EE servers are a no go?
Bad formatting:
Java is strictly prohibited on our regular linux virtual servers, Any client who wishes to use java processes on their virtual server will be required to utilize our RAM based virtual servers. Any client found running java on our regular linux virtual server plans will have the processes terminated.
Hello,
Our policy needs to be updated to reflect our new changes since we no longer offer RAM based servers; You may run it on the regular Linux ones.
Thanks.
So, for clarification – All go with Java? Additionally, the AUP has little details on what is resource abuse. Could you elaborate? For example, 4 core system, is a load of 2/4 ok long term?
Hello,
You have the go ahead.
Regarding resource abuse, we do not enforce specific CPU usage, the rule of thumb here is keep your CPU usage in check and do not let it get out of control and you’ll be fine. We are quite lenient regarding this and will not suspend you for running an abusive CPU load unintentionally, we will inform you and try and help you sort it out.
Thanks.
here’s mine, thanks 123systems

I’ve had a VPS for 2 weeks here, in total 4 hours of downtime, monitored with pingdom. Alot connection troubles to the VPS, couldnt even run a simple shoutcast radio, with a 128KB audio stream.
their support is very slow, couldnt even pay for the VPS as their paypal was blocked, took more then 1 day before they replied. Even when i asked for a refund, they ignored me. Opened a dispute on paypal, which after 1 more week, the VPS got suspended, and still no refund.
Wont suggest this to you guys!
Hello,
I am unable to locate any tickets on your account stating you have experienced downtime, it’s quite possible you are referring to the Kernel upgrades we performed on the 16th of December (which was announced before hand). In addition, the only ticket you opened regarding network speeds was to request a refund and you used that as the reason for requiring one. If you were unwilling to allow us to assist you then that is unfortunate but there is nothing we can do if you do not ask for our help.
Thanks.
i’ve said multiple times in the tickets that i was expierincing downtime, the the controlpanel being offline, the site (123systems.net) being offline. And no, i wasnt talking about the downtime on the 16th, as that day i wasnt having troubles.
heres the link: http://stats.pingdom.com/h2zxsyx4e5im/1052638/2013/12
this is from the moment i paid, till it got suspended due i opened a dispute as you werent responding on tickets anymore.
Want to buy Xen Special… but stocks exhaused :(
Any idea if the stocks will be available soon?
out of stock! Nooooooo! any chance the 1GB or 2GB Xen special will be extended?
We should have some more stock up for these soon. :)
Thanks.
Just thought I would leave some feedback. I got their service today, the box was setup before I was done reading the email about membership. I also “re-formatted” Ubuntu on to it. Took less than 30 seconds.
I am on the Chicago node and I seem to getting pretty quick download speeds and upload. I am filling my upload bandwidth sending, that’s only 6M/s, but still. I am downloading from Ubuntu repos at around 5M/s. I didn’t expect super fast for the price, but I was pretty impressed. Might upgrade if things keep going well.
If I can find a benchmark site/script I will run and report, but things seem snappy to me.
Awesome! I’m glad everything is working out for you; Let us know if you need anything!
you have windiws vps server
i have windows soft,,,,,,,
Hello,
Unfortunately we do not offer Windows at this time. But it is in the works!
Site is interesting, good response time from support:
fastest: 6min.
slowest: around 1 hour
—
pretty much it. when i buy i will update.
After reading from top, i decide to wait and see for another reviewer/customer on your VPS before order mine.
I’m interest on your Linux-256VM. If you can give me a time to test your vps spech and speed that would be just great.
Thank you.
I have read nothing about the port speed. 100Mbit, 1Gbit, what?
Hello,
All servers come with a shared 1Gbps uplink.
Thanks!
10/10 Best VPS host I’ve ever had for the money (Which is dirt cheap)
Full benchmarking reports for my VPS can be found over here:

Lookin’ good.
Glad you are satisfied!
Tried to order XEN VPS but it is out of stock.
We’ll have some more stock up as soon as we can!
When do you think you will have stock?
For which plan?
The 1GB XEN VPS.
I need the VPS to run 24hours/7 days week, no crashes, no downtimes.
I don’t care about traffic, cpu performance etc. I need a stable server to run a small Erpsystem for my company. Do you recommend me 123systems? witch VPS are cheap and trusteble for no crashes and no downtimes?
I would highly recommend ramnode.com or frontrangehosting if you are looking for solid stable host with 99.9% uptime. I’m a satisfied customer of both ramnode and frontrange for almost 3 years now.
RamNode is great, but they’ve only been around for one and a half years.
RamNode is great, but they’ve only been around for one and a half years.
ramnode ,semoweb,iperweb –
Semo who? They don’t belong to the same class as the other two
Plainly put, the support is really bad with broken promises to say the least. You get what you play for which isn’t much with them. I have screenies of every support ticket I submitted so if the hoster would like me to elaborate more, I have no problem doing so.
Waiting for my refund to paypal, will post back if I at least get that or not.

Hello
Is it allowed to run a mining pool (p2pool) on your VPS?
We do not allow virtual currency mining.
bad ,very bad company to have a vps , even if you get for free , bad idea !!! why ? services down times, poor tickets reply , and NO MONEY BACK !!! no even 30 day policy , when you see a sign NO MONEY BACK ,,, stay away.. :) stay with pro RAMNODE or other , i have 10 vps with many companies …..
i dont really experience with any services down..uptime has been 20 days.. but yeah the ticket support is not that good but many other vps hosters also are not good on tickets.. but if you pay the cheapest vps like $9 for 1 year..dont expect a world class support..most vps hosters do the same.. at least 123systems has been around for 3 years..so they are real…but yeah the ticket supports is bad..
What is your Ticket #?
I posted above about crappy support and requesting a refund. After complaining and asking for a refund, then saying screw it, cancel the refund, support seems a little faster, still not like my other host. I just have shared hosting from 123. As other people stated, I guess there’s not much to complain about unless the service goes down and it hasn’t yet although I am worried about that. When I paid such a low price for a whole year, I really shouldnt expect snappy support. But like I said, worried a lot about services going down as the CPU load that I can see in cpanel for the shared hosting server has slowly got higher since day 1. We’ll see, if services stay up and running, I say I got my moneys worth even with no support at all.
Hello,
I believe we have given you adequate support response times. We have an average response time of 2 hours and usually much quicker than so.
Regarding CPU, this is a server with 8 CPUs, a load of 3-4 is not alarming.
Please be aware of what you’re getting into when you deal with this company. If the service works, it works well. I’m assuming that they have lots of happy customers and I’ve never had any performance issues and they did fix the one architectural issue that I had.
However…
It took them 4 days to activate my VPS, with no contact regarding timescales. I had to open up a support ticket to find out what was happening and it still took them a day to send me the information I needed to connect to it and then I had to ASK them to adjust my billing to run from when the VPS was provisioned, not when I signed up!
If something goes wrong, don’t expect a fast resolution. Whilst their staff may reply quickly enough, resolutions can take days, possible longer. I contacted them with a recurring issue and they identified the cause of the current instance as a container issue, but didn’t bother to comment on my reports of previous problems. Despite this, the problem kept occurring and I’ve finally had to provide them with a list of my downtimes. I’ve had an open case closed on me without any kind of apology or explanation and after finally agreeing to a resolution, I’m still awaiting a fix after 5 days. It can take them anywhere from a few hours to half a day to respond to tickets, although that doesn’t guarantee a resolution, and I’m concerned that something like a container issue wasn’t identified automatically through server monitoring. All I can say is that I’m glad I was only using this as a slave DNS server and not something more important!
I would assume and hope that my personal experience isn’t indicative of their company as a whole, but I would suggest that you take my warning:
Do not use this company if you have ANY mission-critical services or websites that you rely on uptime for income! You may have a great experience, or you may have one like mine that unfortunately shows their support to be inefficient and incapable of keeping up probably one of the least demanding VPS servers of their entire customer base.
I really hope that you have a better experience than I have!
Hello,
I believe you have been all sorted via ticket if I recall correctly.
Thanks.
As I made clear in my post, my issue isn’t with your ability to get things resolved eventually – and let it be noted that I do fully expect to get a permanent fix eventually although regrettably that is still a work in progress – it’s with the speed of support and lack of reliability. As I said, when it works, it works well.
These unexplained downtimes are frustrating and ultimately mean that I wouldn’t be able to rely on it for any critical applications. Other customers may never experience them, but I want to make sure that they have an understanding of the possible problems they may encounter.
I ordered a VPS a couple of hours ago (the $14/yr plan), paid, got an e-mail pretty soon with details about my VPS, but the provided IP does not seem to be online, nor the supplied address to the VPS control panel works with the username/password I got. I filed a ticket but so far no response.
Above problem was solved within an hour or so, so that’s good. VPS works but network connectivity so far is really slow (when downloading a test file the speed rarely gets above 200kB/s). I filed a ticket to find out if this is normal or if something is wrong…
Was your issue resolved? If not, provide me with the ticket # here.
XEN has been restocked for anyone that was waiting!
My VPS with 123Systems just gets slow or offline are now days, no solution. Wanted to cancel this purchase, but the only way I lost money :(
This VPS provider is not so good as someone tries to show it here.
1) Transfer speeds to/from Europe are not bad, they are AWFUL sometimes (about 25-26 kbit/s – ssh console lags heavily, so I can’t even type some short commands, not to speak of working in some heavy terminal applications).
2) It seems that support dept. consists of only 1 person, who can’t handle all the issues come from customers, so response speed is also bad
3) Today (January 25, 2014) there are TERRIBLE issues with VPS availability from all over the world (according to site24x7 monitoring) – because packet loss is huge (about 80-90%), and I think that support dept. is not working today, because I haven’t had any answer from them yet regarding this problem
Nothing to say more, ugly service. BTW, support ticket number is #123-E6B0E-YFB.
I just signed up to the service – Linux-512-SolusVM. For now I experienced the same problems which inox described: The download speed is very slow and SSH console as well. I hope this issue is only temporal, since there were many posts showing a very good download rate. I jsut created a ticket and hope, this can be resolved.
Edit: Seems to have been only temporal, maybe a bug. Now I am able to download at very high speeds:
wget cachefly.cachefly.net/100mb.test
100%[======================================>] 104.857.600 44,2M/s
Cachefly is not an indicator, because it has datacenters all over the world. If you look at ping – you see that it is at least located in the same city with VPS or even in the same datacenter with it.
More objective test will be downloading some test files from Europe like http://mirror.nl.leaseweb.net/speedtest/100mb.bin or http://mirror.de.leaseweb.net/speedtest/100mb.bin
Also from US you can try this – http://mirror.us.leaseweb.net/speedtest/100mb.bin
Server load 4 without anything running (default installation). Was slow but now everything froze completely, http gives me timeout. Oh well, let’s see how this turns out…
Request Time-out
Server timeout waiting for the HTTP request from the client.
There was no warning in introductionary text so i bought 512mb offer, but when i started reading reviews i got why my server is still timeouting. Thank you LEB for another failed purchase.
I ordered my server last night that is 14 hours before posting this comment.
It took nearly 3 hours for them to send my server details.
And you know what the amazing thing is? The server is not working ever since.
First they tell me the node is not working and should work in 15 mins.
They have the worst of the services. DO NOT BUY!
Their cheap prices are only to fool, they do not provide any kind of service.
