Is there an AUP? The TOS repeatedly refers to an AUP, but I can’t find one anywhere. Also, there are some interesting posts about their first offer from last Summer.

I just bought 3 of these. Very happy with the price and they actually give me better upload speeds than my linode / digital ocean VPS’s. In the process of making the switch, but it’s a very good deal.

Is there any virtual machine service that restricts your usage like that? Anyway probably you should open ticket and then find out and post here if you feel it’s significant, I don’t think they check this page to answer questions.

  7. well not sure about the first question. Some VPS providers do restrict streaming videos. I haven’t bought a VPS through them yet. I want to make sure I can use it for the purpose I plan to before I buy.

self signed tls/ssl certificate for the panel page on their site?
i like the idea of self signing, yet that is no way to secure ‘online trust’.. which causes me to question their overall knowledge.

Does the offer expire after one year of purchase? or if I buy 1 year offer at 60$ I will continue to pay 60$ the year after?
    Thanks

  13. Damian:

I bought one of these at $60/year.
@Shasank I also never received the emails – I had to whitelist the sender email/domain.
Stuffed up my install of WHM DNSONLY and redeployed my VPS quickly and easily online and started again.
So far – no problems at all.
@Marco I wondered the same – the billing agreement suggests that it will be billed at $60/year every year.

this company is throwing up some serious red flags. I recieved no email from them though you can find email history of recently sent emails. Great so I got my vps panel login info from there but the credentils given don’t work. So now I am blacklisted. lovely. Thinking about canceling service? Their contact us page gives a 404. sweet. Opened a ticket and nothing. This has the feel of a real shady deal.

I thought the SolusVM panel would include the account management and stuff, but it didn’t. My fault.

I did get the VPS setup really quickly (under two minutes), and a refund almost just as quickly. Wouldn’t mind doing business with them later when I can afford a cPanel license :)

This company took my money, suspended my account for something that can’t possibly be my fault and wont refund me.

I’m only out $3.75, but lesson learned.

I purchased my server on the Jan 20th, 2014, planning to move my teamspeak server from another host here, to save money. I never got around to actually setting this up. In fact I bought the server, and I never uploaded a single file, didn’t give out the IP address, nothing. So I finally decided I need to test it out before it expired and see if I want to move my stuff here. I go into the control panel only to find my account has been suspended at some point due to “ddos” with no details and no email to me. When I contact support they don’t seem to understand me, by this I mean the responses don’t make sense, they are like broken English. The response time is between 4-12 hours over 3 days, which is frustrating because they don’t seem to understand what they are responding to when they do respond. Frustrated with them not being able to understand me I finally just ask if they can refund the money, I’m told my ticket “has been placed on hold for billing”. I wait another 12 hours to be told that there is only a window for 48 hours to request a refund. Since the server was opened longer, “no refund is due”.

If you buy from this company you are running the risk of having them suspend your account for a bogus reason and keep your money. Next time I will not ignore the warning signs, the self signed security certificate, the broken links to the TOS, should have all been red flags.

$3.75 isn’t much to lose, I’m just more mad that I feel scammed out of it by them.

Worthless support, crappy uptime. Had a server for a short period of time, but this is probably the worst hosting provider I’ve seen, EVER!

  25. I purchased one of the 3.75 offers. I had some other addons that I needed. Normally with in 3 hours even on a Sunday. I received reply’s. Which appears to be typical customer service response time.
I had my server reboot on day one. Which I didn’t think was very good. But it balanced out.
So far I have been up 9 days straight. I will post back when I have had the vps for a longer period of time.

I don’t often bash companies for terrible service (*COUGH* Verizon *COUGH*) but I’ll agree, the service is terrible. The first month it was ok, second was iffy with service instances of needing to reinstall my server. When they finally upgrade to Ubuntu 13.10 (about 1 month short of 14.04 release) the mysql server doesn’t install properly. I told them about the issue and the told me the don’t offer software support.
Now into my 3rd month they have suspended my account 3 times in 1 week for 2 supposed DDoS attacks and now too many connections? WTF? I hosted my site on Dreamhost for over 3 years with no problems at all.
Don’t waste your time or money on this service.

I have been hosting with them for about a month. The service is not the fastest, but I’ve definitely seen worse. My ticket took one day to be answered. Something I like is that I can host a game server. Most other VPS hosts will not let me host a game server on my VPS, but VPSNodes does.
