I always want to try Germany providers ;)
With that smirk, I do feel the need to point out that Germany has some of the toughest Internet laws on the planet. Granted though there are some providers who pay attention to them and others who could care less. We have a few blocked at the routers for scraping (Which is a big issue) and DDoS and have for years now.
Not that I’m saying anything about this host of course. Just a friendly warning.

This blog uses less than 5GB per month. Actually majority of my VPS uses less than 20GB per month — that could simply be because I suck at getting traffic :)
Signed up for their $3 plan which gives:
Disk Space: 5 GB
Memory: 64 MB
Bandwidth: 50 GB
So far it’s pretty good. On the website it says they don’t have a control panel, but you do get SolusVM. Support is very helpful and the server speed is not outstanding but very reasonable, certainly for this price! Network speed is very decent too, I get about 70 MBit downloading from cachefly.net, very stable.
Only “bad” thing is they advertise with Xen HVM on their website, but it turned out to be Xen PV. They switched me over to HVM when I asked for it, but that didn’t really work out. They only had a CentOS template (but were very helpful to mount a Debian install DVD so I could install it myself over VNC) but networking didn’t work and they only had a temporary fix for it currently. I think they’re pretty new with HVM, so they’ve switched me back to PV. Not a big problem though, they do allow to run your own kernel with PyGrub :)
I signed up with these guys for a month to give them a try, their website featured “24 hour activation” this turned out to be more like “several day activation”. When I finally got SSH’ed into the box, it was pretty much unusable. The line speed was decent, but I didn’t seem to be getting a “fair share” of the cpu. It took forever to compile anything. So maybe if you need a cheap shell, this might be an option for you.
