LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

ArticHost has Some Professional-Grade VPSes at Great Prices! (Chicago Windows of Linux Starting at $3.99/mo!)

Victor from ArticHost stepped up to offer us some nice VPS offers with either Windows or Linux.

  • 2GB RAM, 60GB Storage, unmetered bandwidth on a 100Mbps line with DDoS protection for $4.99/month for Windows!
  • Same specs for Linux as well!
  • Use coupon code: “TWENTYOFF” to get 20% off all orders for the life of the VPS!

Looks like an interesting company.  First time I’ve ever seen a provider offering FOREX VPS Hosting.  Many providers say “no FOREX” in their TOS due to the load, so it’s intriguing to see a host specializing in this market.

Their offers look very full-featured – 24/7 support, free backups, and DDoS protection.

They also appear to be geared up for the long haul.  They rent several racks in the SBA EDGE datacenter in West Chicago, IL and nightly replicate their SSD SAN storage.  That kind of protection is not common and pretty cool to see in this market.

Here’s a little about them in their own words:

“ArticHost LLC provides semi-managed VPS plans at ridiculously cheap prices. As stated earlier all of our VPS
are stored on a SSD SAN appliance. Most VPS providers just use local storage and don’t back up your VPS; we do it differently.  All of our VPS reside on a SAN appliance that gets replicated to a redundant one nightly.  Furthermore, although our plans are semi-managed, we still go above and beyond to support our customers.  We configure webservers, install scripts like wordpress, troubleshoot performance, and fix script issues.”

They are a registered company in Delaware (they submitted a copy of their corporate formation acknowledgement to LEB).  You should review their TOS and if you like what you see, you can pay with Stripe (credit cards), 2checkout (credit/debit), Paypal, or Bitpay.

This is the first time ArticHost has appeared on LowEndBox, so we’d love for some folks to comment below on their experiences!

What virtualization is used for Linux VPSs. OpenVZ? KVM?

Just had a great experience with AH’s customer support team. I had trouble according my VPS via RDP or VNC after ordering, and a technician was able to resolve my issue immediately. I was also provided with 3 free days of service for the inconvenience. Low pings, stable so far. Their SSDs are quite fast! Feels snappier than a Ryzen-based VPS I have at another provider that uses slower storage.

What is involved in upgrading from a lower plan? I would like to know whether the contents of the VPS will be seamlessly migrated. Thanks!

    • Upgrading is very easy, just takes a few minutes. I power off VPS, change specs, and power it on :)

TWENTYOFF coupon doesn’t work on their other plans? I just tried with DIRECTADMIN-SSD-S2 plan and it didn’t work although this post says coupon work for all plans?

  6. I tried to buy but the checkout process demands a cell phone number for SMS message. I entered my business number and I invite ArticHost to call me if they need to. I’m kinda’ old school and would like them to talk to me if they need to check if I’m a human being. Well, yes I am. My business is in southern Missouri and I’d like to try out their service.

    • So, I tried again but now they called me something like “high fraud probability.” Wow, I’ve done business with ChicagoVPS from the old days, still work with HostUs, VPSDime, Racknerd, DrServer, FlipperHost and have been working with most of them for multiple years now. I’m curious why they need a cell phone when I’ve supplied my business phone number and email. Hope to hear from ArticHost soon. I’m the dream client. I put two or three low impact client sites on each node, each one only gets a few hundred visits a month and pages are cached so database usage only takes place when a page is added or edited. Nginx on the front so it sends microcached pages that are updated every ten minutes and then I use Redis memory caching in front of the application. Almost nothing touches the high impact services.

      • UPDATE: Vektor contacted me and saw I was having issues and was kind enough to hold my hand through getting one of the Linux VPS – LIN-SSD-M nodes up and running for me. Thanks ArticHost!

        Will have some info soon.

So far so good on a LIN-SSD-L VPS. Was able to set up CyberPanel with zero issues. However I am unable to see where to modify PTR/rDNS records?

I tried to get a VPS yesterday and their system is sending the SMS for fraud verification without the country code, so obviously it did not work and I cannot get the VPS. I opened a tkt yesterday and no reply so far.
