They use their website’s IP (174.121.35.106) as test IP, which rDNS points to ThePlanet, now Softlayer, hosted in their Dallas TX data center. From its About page, ASCIIDiGital is a registered LLC in the state of Arizona, although I can’t seem to be able to find it on Arizona Corporation Commission lookup site. Domain registered in October 2010 with WHOIS masked. NS on adjacent IP address. Well, I guess non-redundant NS might not be their fault, as their website + NS turns out to be just shared hosting with HostGator! Argh.
What else is fishy? asciiDigital’s WHT account is currently “Temporarily Suspended”. What for? I have no idea, but googling his name “Chad Waliser” reveals that there’s quite a bit of history there on WHT. iNetter? FirmbIT? Now he is back at ASCIIDiGital. I’ll stop the speculation here (yes, none of the association is confirmed), and you guys will take over :)

Hostgator is within Softlayer (ev1) space.
Their website says their servers are hosted at Equinix datacenters.
I can’t find them in the Arizona lookup either. I;m including that link since it was a pain to find in the first place.

Not to mention that lookup site feels like something done in Perl CGI from the mid-90’s. Interestingly FirmbIT’s domain is not really registered to Chad.
As of Softlayer vs. Equinix, the test IP given on their site is with Softlayer/ThePlanet/HostGator, although they stated that their servers are in Equinix. Hmm…
Believe asciiDigical started out on WHT as a server management company… guess now they expanded into selling VPS services. They seem to have some mixed reviews in regards to their ‘server management’ part. Some users reported paid but not received proper service according to agreement. Well, good lucks to their VPS endeavour.
I use a management company for our servers and I’ve heard horror stories from their end as well. They’ve had customers who assume that they’re going to do everything like third party installs, backups and the like. And when a server does get hacked or something else happens, they get accused of not following through or doing enough to protect them.
It’s one of the reasons why I don’t do server management. That and I don’t know everything and I’ll be the first to admit it.
Not defending them and I have never heard of them until this post. Just throwing that out there.

AFAIK, websitewelcome.com is a white label reseller domain for HostGator.
Its not a white label reseller , it’s hg’s general ns/domain/etc for shared too
Their IP seems to be different when asked about lowendbox.com they say that the IP given here is wrong and the original IP is

They are many hosts who like to keep their main site away from their nodes for example AlienVPS they seem to be one of them who do that. But I don’t think there is nothing wrong in that.
I tried them out…here some things you should keep in mind..
Sometimes they might just delete your support tickets. For a good point they move your site fast and free. If you want your money back you might have to think twice. I didn’t get mine yet.

I ordered web site registration and web hosting from ASCIIDIGITAL.com on Dec 19, 2012. After 12 days of nothing and multiple complaints, we cancelled the service with them.
A competitor got us registered and online in 30 minutes.
ASCIIDIGITAL.com is a fraud company. The will not do the work they promise. They do not respond to complaints and they will not refund my measly $37 for the service.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS with CHAD WASILER or ASCIIDIGITAL.com based in MESA, AZ. This a 1 man show who works from a house in Mesa, AZ and he never answers the phone. I opened up 4 support tickets complaining about how long getting us registered took and that I want to cancel based on his 30 day money back guarantee. He just closes the support tickets without ever responding.
This guy has no class and no regard for any customer.
