Their servers are extremely slow as they put 1000s of customers on the same node. The VPS will work fine for a few weeks and then the problem will start. DO NOT buy even if it’s free.

Really though – I cannot find you as a customer. “No Matches Found!” when I tried to search you in our database.

Please email me at julian [@] alpharacks, and I’ll be happy to help. We certainly don’t place thousands of clients on the same node, I don’t even imagine that being possible on any type of hardware.

    • And what do you see? Paid hosting review sites like Serchen, and unmoderated review sites like Trustpilot?

To give a better background… Serchen has been trying to get me to sign up with one of their advertising packages for many years. After I finally declined, those reviews surfaced on their website randomly, and those names don’t even come up in our database.

With regards to TrustPilot, it’s pretty clear that those reviews are all written by the same people based on the writing style, in fact, 3 of the reviews were posted on the same exact day. And none of those names come up in our database either. Unfortunately the nature of running a business on the internet involves disgruntled competitors, as well as “advertisers” or “paid hosting review” sites who just want to get paid out.

We have been in business for over 4 years and have over 16,000 active clients – I’d like to think we know what we’re doing to still be in business today, doing better and stronger than ever :-).

Why not give us a try for yourself? If you’re not happy – we do have a 3 day money back guarantee.

It looks like there is a problem with your billing system. I just paid the invoice and it still shows that my invoice is pending. Even I got a text message on my phone from my bank for the payment of $11.50. Kindly look into it and process the order.

Fingers crossed, this never happened to me once in years :) I hope it will be fixed soon.

      Thank you

      November 24, 2017 @ 7:10 am | Reply
    • Hi Usman,

If you paid via 2Checkout, all payments need to be manually approved by them before we even see the money on our account. As soon as it is approved by them, our WHMCS detects the payment and will activate your service.

This goes for everyone, if you’re in a hurry and looking for instant activation, please make sure your hostname is more than 4 characters, and also pay via PayPal.

2Checkout can take up to an hour or two for payments to be approved by their review team, and Bitcoin/Coinbase can take anywhere from 5-10 minutes.

      November 25, 2017 @ 3:31 am | Reply
      • I tried both. Woothosting isn’t perfect, but in my experience, Alpharacks is worse. I got a VPS with terrible performance – it used to just hang for 30 seconds at a time on trivial operations, probably caused by overcomitting the server. I then was wrongly charged via a Paypal “preapproved payment” and refused the refund for the obviously-wrong charge. I didn’t get this sort of crap from Woot (I got other crap from them, but not as bad as this).

        • Hi Nadav,

Upon signing up for your service, you can select whether you would like to pay manually each billing cycle or to set up an automatic recurring subscription. I am sorry to hear that you forgot to cancel your subscription. Please email me at julian [@] alpharacks.com, and I will be sure to refund any appropriate charges accordingly and make this right. One thing I can tell you for sure is that we did not grow to over 16,000 customers by screwing people out of their money, that’s not what we’re in business for. We are here to help the community, and provide a service with great value at a fair cost. If you forgot to cancel the automated billing subscription, send me an email with the details and I’ll refund you in full right away – it’s as simple as that.

“Note: IF YOU ORDERED ANY PRODUCT ADDONS DURING YOUR ORDER, YOU MUST OPEN A SUPPORT TICKET FOR THE ADDONS TO BE ACTIVATED.”

How long have you been waiting for a ticket response? Our typical response time is right around 30 minutes, but due to this once in a lifetime Black Friday promo we’ve been slammed with orders, addon activations, and support tickets. Dhowland,

No offense intended, but you’re incorrect. OpenVZ is a widely-developed project and is one of the oldest virtualization technologies out there. In fact, much older than KVM, KVM is still relatively new. OpenVZ kernels are still being actively maintained often. You can see the changelog/updates for the RHEL6 OVZ kernel at https://openvz.org/News/updates

    • We run our host nodes based upon the latest OpenVZ RHEL6 kernels, and because of the way OpenVZ works, VM instances share the same kernel as the host node.

If you require to run your own kernel, check out SSD KVM VPS specials here: https://www.alpharacks.com/BlackFriday2017/

However I must point it out that VSwap of size of physical memory is a standard option for pretty much every other VPS provider, you did not advertise that there won’t be VSwap on VM and there’s no way to order it separately so it’s a bit deceptive.

Second post here, just had my servers activated (because I got unlucky with the BTC fee at the time of sending). Here is a screenshot of the server loads (https://i.gyazo.com/733f473f4256babab0aba15cf5cccdbf.jpg), notice server ‘1’ I have had for months now, so clearly these childish claims that “it will work fine for the weeks money back guarantee then it goes to shit” are just slander. Do note, server ‘1’ is my master server that serves multiple websites using Apache vhosts, has LAMP stack with Phpmyadmin and a few other things. Literally no downtime and most of my sites load just over 1ms, servers ‘2’ and ‘3’ show the load on my newly deployed purchases, as you can see the claims are bogus that the load is high when idle.

I have been fucked over many times by prepaying but I mean, its pennies…. $0.53 a month for 1GB….. I felt sort of forced to post this review, I have been attacked on sites like trustpilot, MyWOT where as competitors post shitty reviews and I can see this is a case with alpharacks.

I hope this comment cleared up worries people may have.

  46. Beware of Alpharacks. I was not pleased with their services (my VPS had abysmal performance, often just hanging for many seconds at a time – see my thread here https://lowendbox.com/blog/alpharacks-halloween-vps-sale/ where I started out very optimistic but soon discovered the problems). So I decided to cancel the service.

But then the really nasty surprise came. After a year, they charged me again. Turns out that when we set up the service, instead of setting up a one-time charge on Paypal, they set up a “preapproved payment” for the same charge every year. Which they did not cancel when I canceled their service, probably hoping that I’ll continue to pay them forever even long after I stopped using their services. The even worse part is they refused to refund the money they wrongly charged (even if they blaim me for this mistake, it’s still a mistake) and now I’m in a Paypal “claim” against them.
So don’t waste your time or money with them. Look elsewhere.

    • Hi Nadav

    Hi Guys,

This is one very honest review of the host from my side with the Sales Receipt number 206410529777.

If you guys view the thread slightly up you can see me signing up for the services two days ago.

    Lets get few things straight

    > Its an openVZ server that runs on a slightly dated kernel. I have had problem setting up nextcloud, docker and few other applications. When asked the support, i was pointed to a KVM container(I havent used any before so 0 experience)

    >If you plan to use the server particularly hosting websites, trust me, you will not get a deal for 7$ with the resources these guys are handing out, not many people would be handing out ipv4 with 1gb ram and 512 mb swap at this rate.period.

3)Support is the tricky part, they are particularly very helpful and timely iv’e seen, but, their response times vary depending on the time you have raised the tickets. I think its timezone related issue but in no way a hindrance. +1 for support.

4)The servers are fast(not sure if i am on a particularly lonely node), and my tests reveal 100mbits per second to the closest location.

    https://preview.ibb.co/kgOq7m/st.jpg

And Decent speed to my location(Note: I am thousands not hundreds of kilometers away).

    https://preview.ibb.co/jk48tR/st1.jpg

Overall it is a very positive response from my end, however if the kernel was updated, certain things couldve been better or maybe i am expecting too much for 7$ a pop server that is great for hosting sites and has support that you can never get from decent sized companies.

I think its time for me to take flavor of KVM servers as well.

@julian- Sorry for probably doing 20-30 reinstalls in the past two days, i am new to servers and i wasn’t able to get my apps working before realizing kernel based limitations.

Can you please help me upgrade to a KVM? I would love to hear what you have for me this cyber monday :)

Guys stay away from this service provider ITS HORRIBLE. Takes over 2 mins to connect to the server (not joking sometimes even more). I wasnt saturating the link, i used only 100mb of ram and cpu was at 30-50% usage. I opened the ticket asking what is going on and the support was like “How about now ?” even tho nothing happened. And then they closed my applications without my permission (the servers were still slow after they closed my apps). Syslogs are being deleted as well (who knows why). Just stay away from them.

A would seriously advice people not to use Alpharacks. Their server “latitude” is seriously over subscribed with up to 20 daily timeouts on simple websites. Up to 60 seconds load times. Support just keep saying “try now” and “the problem is fixed” but it never is.
Alpharacks is cheap for a reason. You will waste far more of your time than the extra cost of a better hosting company.

Not happy with the service at all. I have raised a ticket 995310 as the Server was down for quite some time and the ticket’s been open for the past 14 hours without anyone acknowledging it at the least. On top of it, the ticket was closed without any comments and I had to re-open it. Have written to Julian too and need to see if he would respond.

Their ToS was very weird, “all payment invoices are generated 10 days before payment is due”, they hadn’t informed you deliberately. After that, they will take (10%) late fee for you and no base price,no reply.

alphahacks closed the door (us date and money are lost)

After over a decade in business we regret to inform you that AlphaRacks is officially closing its doors. Given the recent outage that exceeded the provisions and financial capabilities of our disaster recovery plan, AlphaRacks will no longer be providing services. We were a budget focused VPS provider, which did not leave room for additional options financially within our disaster recovery plans.

We have contacted various different VPS hosting companies to attempt to establish a transfer agreement that is in accordance to our privacy policy. In addition, some of the below providers have reached out to us offering assistance / credit for our customers.

Below are other budget VPS providers that should provide you with a suitable new home for your VPS needs:

We would like to thank our customers for a great decade of your Business and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    Sincerely,

    AlphaRacks Management.

very bad just stop without any policy they give
