I’m not sure what they mean by Cloud Metal because these VPSes have no reserved resources. I bought two of these and they seem over sold. I was seeing steal times typically in the 50% range with frequent spikes to 70%. PHP-FPM would time out and it made my websites nearly impossible to use. Even as I was migrating away, zipping up sites and using FTP would spike the load averages because those processes would be waiting for stolen resources to free up. The two servers I bought were on different nodes. My websites are quite small and low traffic. I ended up moving most of them to a shared host and performance is night and day better.
On the non-tech end, their customer support seems to have difficulty with english. In one ticket I reported to THEM that I was getting suspicious port scans from a neighboring server on my node and their response was that I should reformat my server. When they offered to replace one of the poor performing servers, I had to repeatedly tell them to not kill my instance in the same ticket, and they could not understand that I needed the new instance spun up first before I could move. Replies from support on this ticket could take two days, completely unacceptable when a server is near useless.
I gave up and sent the cancelation orders this morning. Cannot recommend.
